I got my two big beef tomato plants at the 99cents store just for fun. I now have two huge plants, at least 5ft, growing fast and producing beautiful tomatoes. I’m so excited I discovered this variety as well as the satisfaction of growing my own vegetables.
I'm growing this right now on your recommendation, Gary. You also "learned me" on AAS varieties. Never knew that was even a thing. Mine are doing GREAT! Producing nicely so far. Set lowest fruit and most of the second set as of today. Thanks, my dude! 👍🏻👍🏻
Last summer I grew this Big Beef for the first time and it produced more than any other tomato including Jetstar, BetterBoy, WV-HillBilly, Celebrity and EarlyGirl. I saw the video from MHP-Gardener and was not disappointed in this variety and plan to grow the Big Beef Tomato again because it was very tasty mixed with Amish Paste pressure canned in jars.
I planted 10" tall beefy plants June 7th, today is July 19th and they are easily 5ft tall. But I only have about 6 tomatoes growing on each plant. I I trimmed a bunch of low hanging suckers today, hopefully that will help it start producing more tomatoes
Got four growing close together strung up got a few fruit I’m hoping for plenty their growing in a shaded area so wish me luck I’m hoping to grow a monster beef steak 🍅
I am growing big beef hybrid tomatoes. I put them out on April 15th, which is not a bit to early for our zone. Have not had a freeze since about a week and a half before they were put out. Container growing them in HUGE 40 gallon pots. Using tomato cages that I made myself......made out of concrete re-inforcement wire.....other wise known as remesh.......cages are 6 feet tall and well over 24 inches in diameter....WAY better than any cages you can buy anywhere! Tomato plants were 6....maybe 8 inches tall when I put them out. They are now 3-4 feet tall with beautiful foliage, plants are deep green with NO leaf curl, plants look absolutely perfect, leaves are so thick and plentiful that you can't even see through the plants.................................but NO tomatoes! LOTS of blossoms, but no tomatoes....and that has been a source of concern for me. But, you DID say in your video that they will start producing 70-75 days after transplant. Hasn't quite been that long......only 59 days so far..........so I am hanging my hat on that! Hope you're correct on the 70-75 day thing. Just couldn't figure out why I have such beautiful tomato plants almost 4 ft high and no tomatoes.
Hi, I would like to get some seeds, I love tomatoes, can you suggest where I could get some tasmainian choc, black krim and cherokee purp seeds? TY for all your videos
Big Beef is a hybrid tomato meaning that two different tomato plants were selected to bring the best to this new plant. Therefore, you can save the seeds but they will not be 100% the same next year. all-americaselections.org/product/tomato-big-beef/
Not all of them do as they are hybrids but many of the older ones are stable cultivars. They typically have a hybrid designation still if they arent when you go to purchase them from seed companies.

This is a standard I grow in my garden

So taking suckers is actually removing production stems. All suckers will make flowers. I would let some suckers grow and flower.
That is one heck of a beefsteak tomato.
Ive been eating from this plant for the last 5 days
Thanks for your good explanation
I’m growing these this year first time I got them 5’ tall already it’s not even June wahoo
This was a nice video Thank you
It's Mr. Gary!
That garden is my dream

You got it down. Now its just Nature. You cant do more but wait.
Hi Gary!
This big beef tomato is a Hybrid or a Heirloom? Tks in advance.
Big Beef is a hybrid.....meaning that if you save the seeds and plant them next year, there is NO telling what kind of tomatoes you will get.
Can these seeds be collected and replanted?
What's the average yield per plant? thanks!

Best place is to just search the internet Black Krim Tomato Seeds and a lot of places will pop up.
MMMMM Yummy!
Made it into my first cucumber salad.
My first time growing them, I started them today. If I save the seeds what is the likelihood they will turn out the same?
Yes they will grow the same

Can you plant Tomatoes directly from seeds to soil? Please
Yes you can and that would depend on how long your growing season is. For many, the growing season for this warm season plant is not long enough.
Will these AAS produce 'true to parent' fruits. I mean once I harvest the tomatoes and save the seeds, will I be getting a true AAS crop again?
Not all of them do as they are hybrids but many of the older ones are stable cultivars. They typically have a hybrid designation still if they arent when you go to purchase them from seed companies.
clone suckers for as many plants as you wish next year
How many stems on that plant?
There is one main stem but the rest depends on if you prune some of the stems or not.
The Celebrity will flower until Frost or disease takes it.
Six feet tall? What the hell did I get myself into? Hahaha
That's an indeterminate tomato for you!
