Thank you guys !!!
I discovered the Chariot's breakup video at the end of a 20 hour work day. I was completely sleep deprived and already on the verge of a meltdown. The chariot was and still is my favorite band, and I discovered their farewell tour announcement through a mutual friend. I lost my mind. Then I discovered they were playing in Buffalo, New York on my 19th birthday. I made the 5 hour drive with a few friends. I stood front row the entire concert. Josh, himself, wished me a happy birthday. It was the perfect ending for my experience with The Chariot. So, thank you, to The Chariot, The Waiting Room in Buffalo NY, and everyone in that room on October 21st, 2013. You have no idea the impact you had on this complete stranger's life. Long Live.
This is why live entertainment needs to exist. Thank you for this story.
anybody else keep coming back to this?
Yes, rewatching this for the third time this year, and when I came here first, I didn't even listen to The Chariot.
Daniel Chun I was even a fan of the chariot when the chariot was a band. One of my biggest regrets was never getting to see them live
bro. once a month at least.
Man, I've watched all of the Chariot videos on here several times. I' was a huge fan of Norma Jean, and when Josh left and started the Chariot I loved the first album and they lost me after that. But I came back to them after they broke up and listened to everything they've done and I can't believe how good it all is. Because they were so good I gave Norma Jean's stuff post-Josh a chance, also very solid stuff, wish I'd seen The Chariot play, I might actually catch Norma Jean next month for their Redeemer 10 year tour.
Daniel Chun I want
Watching in 2021, all the emotions come flooding back. This band was truly something special.
Thanks for still being here : )
in 2022 im coming back to it FORGET NOT
2022, Still jamming to their albums front to back every now and then.
@@Gnarlkill every day for me man they weren’t my first tattoo for nothing
Same for 2022
This may be the single best filmed and edited and overall music documentary / behind the scenes I have seen in my life. What an incredible piece of art for an absolutely timeless band.
Thank you so much, that comment really means a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed!
Chad Every I couldn't have said it better. I cried for a solid 30 minutes straight. This is such an amazing tribute to such an eternal band. I am so humbled by their passion... how can I ever come close?
you haven't seen much then
When Josh Scogin was in a band called Luti-Kriss back in 99/2000, I was there. When he left Norma Jean and the Chariot came forward, I was there. When they played their final show in Douglasville, I was there. This band has meant so much to me and so many people because they said the things that each of us were afraid to say and kept the passion alive in a dying culture. They lifted us up and pushed us to the edge. They implored us all to be better people. To speak with the wrath of grace and love. Because of the Chariot, my closet holds no bones and this film has captured the heart and soul of that which we can only describe as the Chariot. There's no way to put into words what it was like to be there because if you weren't there, you'll never understand. The closest anyone may come in the future is to watch this video and hope to experience anything like it in their short time on this earth. Much love to the folks who put this together. Victory is such a lonely word. Long Live.
Justin Goldsmith cool story
Justin Goldsmith how do you like Josh’s new two piece band ( well not new ) ?
Luti-kriss is Norma Jean
Luti-kriss! Throwing myself is one of my favorite albums and the hissen track at the end is one of my favorites
@@summeronio9751 True, but not true. Luti-kriss was very different in sound.
In the world entire,
when the noise is all complete.
No one claps their hands,
And no one stomps their feet.
When every drum is punctured,
and all the cymbals broken.
All the strings unstrung,
and the truth no longer spoken.
Thrown roses have all fallen,
the roots are withered bare.
The word ‘victory’ is ours,
But lonely beyond repair.
--------------------------------
Though the stage is empty,
the feedback loud and sweet.
I will clap my hands,
And I will stomp my feet.
'Long Live' is such a basic thought:
We agree,
Be free,
No we,
Will never stop.

those were some beautiful words, bro :)
Thanks for those chills. Beautiful.
made me wanna fucking cry man.. soo amazing
beautiful...
I usually can't stand when people try to invoke the name of others in their art or words, but this was truly beautiful and absolutely got to the heart of the matter.
2023 here and this brings back a wave of good memories. one of the most influential bands in my life. thanks for this doc
Q4 of 2019, and still missing you, guys, The Chariot!!! - All's Well That Ends Well
They need to reunite. With all these early 2000’s bands reuniting and putting records out I think it only makes sense these dudes just get back together one last time and give us a record.
I like your avatar
I was at their last show, it was a life changing experience to say the least. took a 17 hour drive down from NYC with one of my best friends to see it. Not 1 single regret...
Not afraid to admit that I cried like a little baby when I heard "And Shot Each Other". What an incredible moment in my life. Thank God I was so blessed to see them live. LONG LIVE THE CHARIOT!!!!
3 years ago and still breaks my heart. Fuckin miss The Chariot bro..
2021 and I find myself coming back to this documentary once again. God, I miss this band so much. Hope everyone is doing okay in this weird Covid-19 world we live in right now. God bless and Long LIve!
If there was ONE band I could get back, it would be them.
Literally choked back tears the whole time. Thank you
Yep
foreal ....
I'm right their with ya brother
As a musician and as a music photographer, this is beautiful on a whole new level. You somehow captured the chaos and relentlessness that is The Chariot while showing their beautiful, serene, and emotional side as well. Not many people could have done this, and I honestly believe you did justice to the legacy of The Chariot. Well done, my friend.
Long Live.
LONG LIVE THE MUSIC SCENE OF 2005-2010.
I've never cried at something I have watched, and this damn video almost made me. Me and my cousin had taken the road trip to see them in Atlanta, not caring about expenses because we had to see them for the last time.
It was money well spent, my friend. Glad you were able to be there!
I'm on the same boat, this is the closest I've ever come to tears from watching something. Long live.
TabbyDerp I cry every time man
There may never be a band like The Chariot ever again. They truly defined what it means to write music and perform for an audience. The energy, creativity, and raw emotion they brought to everything they did is something that can't be matched. Long Live that fucking band 🤘
the fact that a band can bring tears to your eyes says it all. long live
those nature shots though, absolutely mind blowing.
Glad I'm not the only one who cried....
Just as it got to the seven footage, i broke down. This band will forever mean the world to me because they gave me something positive and beautiful to believe in at a time when i was self medicating and surrounding myself with negativity. Every day when i wake up, i glance to my left and see the poster on my wall that stevis and david signed in buffalo around christmas a few years ago and it just makes me smile like an idiot to know that I was apart of something so organic and beautiful.
Long live. Be free.
Its 2023, i missed them during their years and its my biggest regret, but thank you for making an amazing sendoff to some amazing people. Long Live.
What a beautiful doc. I actually cried a little at a few points. God damn. Long Live.
2023 and it still hits the same long live
I've been here since 1998. The best people, the best band. Will be academically studied.
thank you for making me cry for 56 minutes. i honestly mean that. i hadn't taken the time to think about what the chariot meant to me until i watched your film. when they announced the end of the band i sort of just pushed it aside but this made me face my feelings. the biggest thing i take away from the chariot is the concept of being real, staying true. from the bottom of my black, cold dead little heart, thank you sir for making the film that needed to be made. i wish you the best and to all the chariot fans out there, keep your heads up because the stars are still shining for you. One Love
I didn’t get into them till a few years back. I’m 51, they move me. I’ve watched this a few times. What an emotional roller coaster. Long Live ‘68!
Fuck dude I just discovered this band and '68 back in December during a pretty intense problem with opiates. This band and a band called Glass Ocean Stuck with me the whole experience, and eventually I got through it all The Chariot and 68 for my anger and my pain, while Glass Ocean were for my times of tranquility and sadness. It was all a very interesting experience. I learned about my self. And I had some interesting music to burn out the distractions and noise around me to get me through it all.
It's sad to find out they broke up but, I'm pretty OK with it. It makes sense. and, they left their creations of sound behind.
All I gotta say is thanks camera guy for this film, Thanks to The Chariot for the art. I hope this post doesn't get buried and you all see this. Thanks Fella's.
Cannot hold back the tears. Forget Not.
It’s 2022 and all emotions keeps coming back when I watch this. I’ll never stop loving this band! The impact they had on how I approach music can’t be described with words. Amazing band!
Words can't express how much this band means to me. It'll be with me forever. Long Live. Forget Not. Amen.
I seen this band at the lime spider in Akron Ohio in 2007. Again at Peabody's in Cleveland in 2010. Still regarded as some of the best shows I've ever seen. Long live brothers. Take care.
im already ready for the reunion tour documentary
And the tour itself... even though 68 is still good.
Please...
Probably never gonna happen unfortunately. Josh said so in the most recent underoath twitch video

If you made an extended cut with (if available) more interviews/ raw footage of some of the shows in a DVD format, I'd buy it without thinking twice. you'd have my money.
I miss these guys so much. I will never forget their last shows in San Diego and Anaheim. Long Live The Chariot.
We lived in a world that will never exist again. Hundreds of people crammed into small rooms listening to Josh scream at us and us scream every word back to him.
That Toyota Sunrader makes me miss my Toyota Dolphin in such a bad way. Miss'er... Thank you for a great film and tribute.
Was lucky to see these guys once in upstate NY. Josh is one of my favorite vocalists
i saw The Chariot for the first time when they opened for Underoath on their 2013 "Farewell" tour. It was awesome even if The Chariot really did disband soon after. I'm just glad to have the jams now. LONG LIVE
Thank you to The Chariot for being part of my life and thank you for making this beautiful film!
I'm still in awe. This band changed my life. I'm a professional musician now, after realizing that life should be used to do something that you feel passionately about. This band helped me realize that. What The Chariot did for us is irreplaceable. I had "Calm Rose : Violent Wind" tattooed on my arm. My only tattoo. Thank you guys for all that you have done.
Long Live
Wow your shots of Arizona. Especially the star time lapses.
This is one video that I didn't ever want to end....so sad I didn't get to see them live..I'm blessed to have met Stevis....LONG LIVE.....AMEN.
Most genuine/humbling dudes I've met, in Perth, Western Australia we had more than just a show. We went & ate Nandos & then went cliff jumping afterwards, good laughs & good times. Won't forget any of it.
Checking in in 2021. This still makes me cry. I'm 32.
Long Live.
2024, turn 30 in a month. Probably watch this about once a month.
Long Live.
I love the little ode to the first chariot documentary with josh jumping of the speakers!
31:48 was one of the greatest moments of my life.
Mine too T____T
My old band were so massively inspired (both musically and onstage) by these guys, I'm still not over the fact that they'll never be playing shows again. Long live
I could watch this documentary a million times. So. Great.
All of my online names are based off of this band. So I truly will never forget them, and I am so happy it's what I've chosen.
Farewell tour in Dallas. Long Live The Chariot. Long Live The Audience.
I was fortunate to see the chariot live back in 2006, at a small venue i used to work for. I was also in Rehabilitation with Josh's brother, who i built a friendship during my rehab stint. He recognized my chariot shirt and began talking to me about their youth and Josh's life. I gave him my chariot shirt and we kept in touch for a good while. I wonder if he's still doing well. If you happen to read this dude, i hope you're still sober Michael.
And Josh thank you for your amazing music.
(Sorry not a double post, accidently posted it somehow)
I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC around 2006 time frame when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos, everything felt like everything was in slow motion and it felt so powerful as he was right there in front of me, every scream just goes straight from my ears trough my spine and just resonates with every part of me. I waited after the show to try and talk to him, I fel that I needed to let him know the way his music resonated with me and thank him for his gift. Unfortunately I never got the chance as he was already engaging in conversation with other people and I stood there for a while but started feeling awkward and didnt want to interrupt, but I wish I had. If you ever see this comment Josh just know that music still moves me exactly the same even 20 years later! I Love and Miss you all.
Long Live
Psalms 150:5 - Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
This is worship unto Him.
This band was definitely an experience. Stage presence like no other. Plus these guys are actually really cool people, they never let their successes get to their heads. If you search around UA-cam for their tour videos you will find that they are HILARIOUS and kind individuals and had a blast doing something they loved. Long live, long live, hard times come again no more.
You're absolutely correct, they are very very very funny and awesome people to be around, in general. Thank you so much for watching.
I've always loved how they're not up in your face preaching shit like others, it's just human music. It's for everyone and anyone could be a part of it.
i wept. i healed. i loved. forget not. long live. thank you so much.
why you gotta pull at my heartstrings? seeing you guys in madison heights was an honor. thanks for actually listening to all of the bands that played those nights.
2023 and this still hits the feels. Long live.
Legendary.
They'll be talking about this band for years and years to come.
Again.
LEGENDARY.
This video reminds of all the times I had the privilege of seeing them in their element and how grateful I am for the opportunity to just take it all in and lose my mind for an hour at a time. Best live shows I have ever been apart of and I feel sorry for those who simply don't understand, they have no idea what they missed out on. I have a drumstick on my wall from the chariot and I look at it everyday and much like this video it reminds of some awesome, unforgettable times and they all had the chariot as the soundtrack. I think that's pretty cool. LONG LIVE.
The greatest live show I've ever seen was the chariot. I hung out with them after a show in Portland oregon after a homeless person took a dump on the trailer the band had one of the funniest and best days of my life.
Hope you all are taking care of yourselves out there. #LongLive
I'm... 17 years old; I was too kid to go a show of this band (I live in Argentina and cannot travel out of the country alone, because... you know... too young). I didn't have the experience to see this guys in live and broke every part of my body, but... you must know that in my home, I put "The Chariot", close my eyes... and I imagine the mosh pit, the jumps, all the show... and start to feeling something that Im no feeling with any other band. This feeling, accompanied me all my teenage and will accompany me all my life... Thanks guys. Long Live.
I miss you guys everyday. Every. Single. Day.
I didn't find out about the chariot until after they had just finished the last show... I have since bought as much merch, vinyl, banners, stickers, etc. I could find with the Chariot on it.... this band instantly hooked me, but the more I explored the culture, and met the other fans, I am jealous to anyone who had the privilege of experiencing the chariot
is actually so sad to watch this but at the same time i feel really happy i was able to be part of the last tour... im from Dominican Republic and i remember i asked for my vacations at work just because i needed to see The chariot one last time and my best friend got me tickets as a Bday gift... its funny now how i froze when they played the city since its my favorite song i was just there singing it out fucking loud! AMAZING experience!!!
I help run Schoolhouse Venue in Madison Heights, and am absolutely floored that the good folks from The Chariot would even think to include their time at Schoolhouse in their documentary. We were very blessed to have them there, both nights, and still consider that one of our most successful events. Schoolhouse loves you, dudes.
Amazing band
so glad i got to see them twice before they broke up. didn't appreciate them as much when i saw them as i do now, but it's one of those bands i would have regretted never seeing
Perhaps the greatest philosophers were once the prized and learned people of a sociological setting of a peple ever-seeking righteousness. Those people, sharing both the revelations and inceptions of our time, are those who care not for their own social standpoint, but the truth they reveal in Love.
These gentlemen will be men I will tell my children of. When I reference the idea of beauty within humankind, it is with the most serene peace that I would grasp the concept not only in myself, but over-all for those minds to lead our ideals one day.
This ban is a source of that truth. And this band refines and expresses that which we are in pursuit of. And this band wasn't a gratification of anything apart from what would be considered righteous. And they will be so desperately missed for that re-creation of truth.
Forget Not, The Chariot.
Words cannot even express how incredible and powerful this band is. Though disbanded, they'll never die. #LongLive
LOL that throwback to the 2003 DVD at 29:26 is TOO perfect.
The Videography on this piece is stunning . Long Live all the way from Africa .
I've been on this earth for 29 years. Nothing has compared to a live event with the Chariot....
No energy... no spirit...no love...
NOTHING compares to what the Chariot put through their crowds.
I cry every time I see this documentary...
I saw The Chariot when I was in 9th grade in an old, rundown fire station in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm almost 21 now. Those memories of going to shows and being a part of DIY music is something I will try to never forget.
Toughest dude with a trumpet ever.
I cried. Thank you. Long Live.
I remember sharing my fruit with you guys at Cornerstone 10' You guys are so genuine i love you all dearly and will miss the music and great times going to your shows. Long Live.
This band got me through the most horrible of times. Thank you chariot I love you guys. Long live the chariot.
I'm an atheist and these guys are my favorite band. Not gonna let beliefs get in the way of amazing music.
Benlikesdamusic As am I, but as we know The Chariot is/was something else. Long live.
Same, total Atheist but I love everything that Josh Scogin says... I just choose to interpret his words in my own way and I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
Unfortunately I discovered the Chariot too late to see them together live. Three buddies and I went to an Anberlin show with the only intent of seeing '68 open for them. No one else had any idea who they were so we were pretty much the only ones that went bazerk. Fantastic times.
If any of you guys read this, know that The Chariot had an amazing impact on my life. I love you for it and love you for the shows we shared together. There will never be another The Chariot, but I'm at peace with that. Long live.
It feels like Christmas. I'm ready for the feels. Long Live. \m/
*The Chariot* was great. Wish I saw them live.
lickily saw them in arizona. this do makes me cry till this day. but such a peaceful ending. i would do unspeakable things for a reunion tour... unlikely... but i saw 68 with the fall of troy in denver recently.. and it was a breath of fresh air
I cried watching this. One of the first bands I really got in to when I got into Hardcore.
Not sure how I'm just finding this video but it was amazing and I miss the band, Long Live!
I have had this on my Watch Later for five or six years now and finally watched it. Holy fuck. Still gave me chills all these years later. I wasn’t able to check out the farewell tour, but seeing them live once within their tenure is a gift. It opened up something inside me, broke in new frames to accept new experiences into. Brilliant doc. Thanks for sharing.
Hey man, thank you so much for this comment, I really appreciate you. I'm sorry you weren't able to see them on their final tour - it was really something else. But hope this gave you at least a little piece of that experience. Cheers
I am amazed at how well they captured the live experience of the chariot!! It is almost impossible to describe
The Chariot was the best metal band! I saw them live in Detroit!
Stumbled upon this video while reminiscing about how amazing it was to be there. To this day, I have never experienced a show that could rival the energy, passion, and excitement that the chariot brought on stage with them. I still tell the stories and as much as I wish I could do it again, I am thankful that I was able to be there once upon a time. Long live
Happy to have had you there with us. Long live.
Saw them at cornerstone 2005. Fireeater blowing 15 to 20 foot flames! Come on guys-come back to life! We need you!
I remember being at Jokers in fayetteville NC when they were touring with GWAR... totally went to see The Chariot only and i remember being front row at the stage and just watching in awe at Josh screaming his heart out at the ensuing chaos
I miss these guys
Clean well documented footage. Loved it. Long live.
This deserves so much more than 100K views.
seriously?! whose that one guy to thumbs down this video?!
tears... guys...THANK YOU. just love all of you.
That was so sad. It made me cry. I hated how I wasn't able to go to their final tour but this made feel like is was there. It was so beautiful and the ending was the best. I was so sad to see it end. Long Live
Seriously just Josh talking about finding peace in the music at the beginning can almost make me cry. I miss these boys so much.
I saw The Chariot on their first tour and remember them being wild and a lot of fun, especially for a destructive, angry teenager like myself at the time. I was never a super fan though, unlike some of my friends, and can honestly say I never really listened to anything after "Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing..." which I loved in high school and still love as an adult. This documentary is fantastic though and makes me want to check out the releases I've missed along the way. This will sound super dumb but my favorite part was seeing Angela Plake stage dive and the short interview clip with her. I'm a huge Bandit fan and that was awesome to see!
