Heyo, I'm considering adopting a 10 month old alexandrine parrot, partially to take it out of a bad situation. I've been watching rescue parrot sites for a while so I've been wanting a parrot for a while. I have a few questions: How will being a rescue affect how she behaves/how I should train her? Does being 10 mo old affect how easily trained she will be? I am at home most days, but on the days I'm not, should I put her cage near my sister's rescue lorikeet (if they get along)? And Soo much more but that's a good start
They make a lot of noise ,and if you're a begginer with parrots i recommend an Indian Ringneck or a cockatiel and not an Alexandrine Parrot , cockatiels are awesome ,i own 3 of them. They dont shout they only sing about 3 times a day for 3 or 5 minutes and they dont disturb my neighbours. I also own an Indian Ringneck and he's not making as much noise as an Alexandrine would do ,he only shouts 3 times a day and not very loud ,easy to tame, very friendly and is a good talker
Get your parrot some iodine blocks so he can grind his nose after eating because it looks like he’s been rubbing it against his cage hence the marks on his beak but he’s very tame way tamer than my Alex good work
Hi it took a few weeks, but we got there in the end. The important thing is not to get frustrated or hit the parrot. You must block the bit with your palm. Your parrot will become comfortable with you, just a matter of time.
Hi, first thing we taught Hapi was to step onto our fingers and when he did we would reward him. Next we let him step on with one foot shake it and let go. We carried on whilst saying handshake.. he soon got the gist of it. And again reward.
My Alex is 2 now and nearly has a whole ring, loves kisses and attention, also waves and give him almonds as treats, talks a few words too but still trying to get the full trust to pat, I found I can only do what I want to him in the shower as it makes him docile 🤔
Yay thx for heart, but I need her to stop biting.Shs makes clicking noises (tck tck) in the morning, she sits in the dark and eats food. When I wanna stroke her,she jumps to bite me.but she does calmy sit on my shoulder.I don't know what to do!!!Even though we spent approx.£106.90 on her cage, accessories and toys🤔🤔😶😕🙃😲🙄😫
Oh dear! Yes Hapi used to bite us too. Don’t show fear and treat your bird when he does step on your finger. It’s take a little patience and effort to train them but I’m sure it will happen.
@@HapitheAlex it doesn't sit on my fingers,it sits on my shoulder. She don't come out of the cage anymore. This morning,I went to her and put my finger near her,she tried biting. Also,I'm a kid I don't want her tobite.5 mins ago,she was sitting with all of her feathers fluffed up and she stared at me.In our country it's very cold but we give her a nice home with a radiator behind the cage🤗Plz tell me what to do if I'm a kid.Lastly, how do I get her to get out of the cage and since how do I stop her if I'm a kid! Most of the times, she ain't in a good mood because it's cold.
Good thing I have an Alexanderian parrot with brown eyes ... Or else those pinning and flashing demonic white eyes would really scare the hell out of me.
Bird feel attacked with objects above them. You have to gently pet them with a keyword so they know what about to happen. When petting Hapi we say “nice nice” just to let him know we are about to touch his head and he is ok with that
baby alexandrine bite because they are like babies they nibble to explore they grow out of it but if you punish them or yell at them they will remeber it and will never trust you just have patience and love and they will grow out of it
Hapi The Alex he is really comfortable with me like like he knows I’m not a threat and normally won’t bite but he just throws in a few hard ones but trying to cover his face he still bites bit harder
This is a life saver. Thank you!!!
So Adorable!!!!!

How we can reduce the fear from parrot
Patience and love. He/she will sense it!
This parrot is male or female??
Male 🙂
What type of food you provide to ur alex
He has lots of veggies, fruits, parrot mix, limited nuts as they are fatty.
@@HapitheAlex thank you. but my alex not eat veggies

Hahahaha
Sweetiepie ❤ ❤
Thanks... 😁 😁 She is a really sweetheart 😚 😘 😘
ive found sandpaper as paper in a cage really helps with their claws and beaks
If I keep my hand on my bird she just removes it away

That’s a girl the boys look different I know as I have that bird at home
He’s definitely a boy. He is older now and has got his ring!
Oh
I didn’t no that they started with no rings then get some
When he started to get ring ? Plz bro tell me
My parrot just starts biting more when I I try covering his face
It probably frightens him or her. Make sure your parrot is comfortable enough for you to do that.

nice
