You can get approximately 60fps on jetson nano with very simple video segmentation NN. 120 fps is max for camera. But you have to learn how to use tensorrt pycuda and threading. I think in any case camera wouldn't give anough vision angle. Much faster will be to use any optical sensors. Look closely - there are special turning marks on floor wich tells you when you have to start and finish turns. So you need some optical sensors for turn angle calculation. If you will use assembler and float8 calculations it would perfomance even with 600 fps on stm32.
@@user-yx7sh9bu9b AFAIK, no, they don't use turning marks and very often there are no turning marks in such competitions. There are cameras which can do 200+FPS, e.g. OpenCV Ai Kit, but I'm not sure it can do image recognition at this speed. Optical sensors were used for 20+ years for Line Following, but they are close to the limit for quite a while now: the size of the vehicle is limited, so lookahead is also limited and you can't speed up endlessly without loosing the grip with the surface. They use turbines to suck to the surface and increase the grip, but this is also an old tech now which everybody uses and so you can't win with that alone.
I dont think there is AI involve its probably just 2 sensor side by side under the bot that can detect black or white. This way, dependind on wich sensor "see the most black", you can know how to turn to follow the line
@@marc-antoinequessy5388 I think those l white tape lines on the side of the main line help indicate turns and such, not sure though just a speculation. Edit: They could also help the tires grip during turns maybe.

How does this work, is that car attached to a rail or is it all optical?
If it was attached to a rail it wouldnt have flung itself off the track on the last turn. Its optical tracking pretty sure

is that the evolution of the maze?
which moudle is he using to track the lane? I think tracking the lane with a camera won't make that kind of speed.

just a line ?- or a rail
its a line of tape, the machine uses sensors to see where the line is
