san miguel and san nic are pretty ideal for first years :) i wouldn’t recommend santa catalina since it’s off campus. congrats on ucsb, you will love it !! i’m always here if you have any questions ~

My God, how is it that the rooms and everything else looks exactly the same as when I went there from 1983 to 1987? I see few new things, but everything else is exactly the same. Enjoy your college life - you'll never have that experience again once you start working, having kids ...
