Ive started to get back into ukelele, and im a bit rusty. I needed to start by tuning but didnt know where to really start bcuz my ukelele was already tuned when i bought it. This was super helpful, thank you so much from a younger player 😁
Thanks so much! My ukulele was building dust so I decided to take it out of the closet today. Really needed this cause it sounded horrible, this was super useful! Subscribed!
Thanks so much my tuner is in my clutter room some where this be helpful I love my instrument that my daughter gave me last year and hardly ever take the time to prac. Jus for today I am tuning sipping tea and enjoying life more. No running around hospital today jus music and humans ! Namaste love and light
The simple answer is no, HOWEVER, if you have the ukulele upside down you want to make sure you tune it the opposite way. Does that make sense? The first string (if holding the ukulele as you were to play it, this is the bottom most string) should be an 'A' in standard tuning and the fourth string should be a G. All the way through from first string to last string should be G,C,E,A. So if you hold the ukulele facing the opposite way it could be easy to invert this. So basically, no, you can face it whichever way as long as you make sure each string is still being tuned to the note it is supposed to be tuned. In case that's confusing, just match your string sounds to the string I am playing and then it doesn't matter which way your uke is as long as you are tuning the strings to the right sound!
great video,i loved it!, but till next time could you not talk between the time u play the string it kind of put one out of ballance trying to listen to the sound
Sorry about that!!! Here's a video just meant for tuning with no talking. ua-cam.com/video/0DQkxMidohI/v-deo.html This video is more about teaching :).
Turn the pegs at the top of the ukulele. Make noise on a string, then turn the peg one way and see if it’s lower or higher sounding. (Tightening a string makes it higher pitched, loosening a string makes it lower pitched). Hope this helps!
Thanks it helps but I have a question another,On my ukulele it has the pegs on the back so it’s left right which way do I for g-c cords and make sure they don’t break like left or right same with e-a cords and make sure they don’t break Im sorry it’s long @@NickRivers
is it possible the hole on my ukulele is too small?? cus i was looking at other peoples and mine seems smaller, the ukulele just doesn't sound right. What do you think?
it's definitely possible that you have a smaller ukulele which may make the tone sound a bit different, however the notes are still the same :). Once you learn how to tune a uke without a tuner, this video will help with the correct notes! ua-cam.com/video/0DQkxMidohI/v-deo.html if you have more questions feel free to comment!
It can be really hard and not everyone will be able to tune with their ear right away unfortunately! It can take some practice. in the meantime, if you are having trouble tuning I definitely recommend getting a Snark Clip On Tuner. I have a link in my description for them (if you use my link I get a little bit of the purchase price which helps me continue to make videos).

Got a question, does it matter which way it faces you?

How do you tune it? Like make it looser or tighter
Turn the pegs at the top of the ukulele. Make noise on a string, then turn the peg one way and see if it’s lower or higher sounding. (Tightening a string makes it higher pitched, loosening a string makes it lower pitched). Hope this helps!

im 11 years old and your good at teaching but its kinda hard
it's definitely hard but keep at it and eventually you will get it!! Trust me, I had lots of issues at first too!!!!
I think my A chord has been faulty since i bought my uke. Its completely off no matter how long i try tuning it
hmmmmmm. maybe take it in to a music store and see if they can help you out!
