- Delivered new to Japan, this is a stunning 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL 6.0 AMG presented in great condition with nearly 72,964 km (45,325 miles). This 560SEL 6.0 boasts its original engine and stands out among the rarefied 560SEL 6.0 crowd. Both the engine and gearbox have had complete service, and the distinctive AMG 5 Spoke AMG Alloys have new tires. Additionally, attention has been given to both the suspension and brakes. At the time it was introduced, the 560SEL AMG 6.0 was among the most powerful sedans on the road. It packed the legendary 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 “Hammer” engine featuring a custom quad-cam head with four valves per cylinder and three-piece, sand-cast cylinder heads. Thanks to the extensive modifications from AMG, the car delivered 380 hp at 5,500 rpm and 410 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The peak torque figure was particularly significant as it was twice as high as what the stock 560SEL could deliver - at half the engine speed.
When introduced, these autobahn legends were the first four-door saloons to break the 300 km/h (187 mph) barrier, propelled by their awesome engines. They are equally impressive today as they were more than thirty years ago. Prior to its merger with Daimler AG, AMG was an independent tuner, which was established in 1967 by Daimler-Benz engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. AMG modified engines and sold performance accessories so customers could upgrade and personalize their cars. By the 1980s, customers were ordering Mercedes-Benzes through AMG with expensive modifications, yet the two firms did not launch a single product, the C36, until 1993. At the time of its introduction, the 560SEL 6.0 AMG-powered by a 6.0-litre V-8, designed and built in Affalterbach.

did the previous owner of this car live in florida. i saw on a video from prestige imports on a supercar meet, this exact looking car. there are so few of the sedans that got the full drivetrain and exterior in silver. there damn sure isnt more than a handful in the US. i searched every video every car meet looking for this again. i was actually parked off to the side, criminal. this car is way more rare than any lamborghii mclaren etc. did this have a nackamichi stere from amg. alot of the ones that went directly to japan got that package. if only it had the recaro cse's what am i saying??? i'd tae it if the seats were mae of killer bees. to own this for even 2 minutes would be life altering. been a premerger fanatic since way b4 the hammer. w116 in 84' car/driver mag and i watched 1st to last every episode of miami vice as a kid. these cars are so special theyre finally getting a little recognition. please more content on pre 1992 tuned and tuner merc's please cheers
