Just want to add on here for a bit of clarification- my playthrough on normal took exactly 6 hours and 58 minutes! I didn’t stop and smell the roses towards the end, so with more patience it would probably last half an hour more than that maybe. Also DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU DISLIKE SPIDERS😅
Yesss playing it right now! Looks so good. I love using the battery to recharge the flashlight and changing the filter on my mask. It feels like metro is the perfect place for VR. Awesome review dude. I agree with you 100%
I’m fine seeing spoilers as I’ll be playing this game through dozens of times, I love metro for its mechanics and world building rather than surprises 😅 great review, I’m glad I’ve preordered it!
So good to hear they've kept it true to the flat version with all the mechanics and lore,i was worried they would do a" hitman" on it and fuck it up ,cheers jammy 😀👍🤘🍻
Finally a game I'm excited for so I can dust off my PS VR2. The last 6 months maybe even a little longer all my VR Gaming has been done in the quest3. Games like the new Batman and asgard's Wrath kept me in the less powerful headset and for good reason because those games were amazing.
It's great to know it's an unreal engine. If you put this game resolution on a rank. Being arizona sunshine the lowerest rank. Until the radius the middle ground and redmatter the highest tier. Where Metro will stand?
Does grabbing items use the touch sensors on the grip buttons like in resident evil village and 4 vr where you just need to press the button once and items stay in your hands as long as you are still touching the button or do I need to fully hold down the buttons to keep items in my hands holding the grip buttons for a long time makes my fingers hurt after a while so this will decide whether I buy it on the psvr2 or quest 3
All games should be adopting 'hybrid grip' (as an option, at least) by now (ie you have to press the grip button initially to grab, then you continue to hold the weapon as long as you just touch the button)
Just started playing this and only a few minutes in I can safely say this is a new standard for VR. The visuals and SOUND design, the way everything feels alive!!! This game is definitely contender for VR game of the year!!!
I felt the opposite, seemed the texture resolution and models were underwhelming. Half life smokes it visually. Even alien isolation Beats it on visuals and sound IMO and that's from 2014. Only played 30 minutes though so maybe it gets better. Had all settings at max on PC too.
The only bummer is that it doesn’t come with a PS5 Pro enhanced patch even though it literally drops the exact same day as the Pro, missed chance imo. Especially since there’s unfortunately barely any other Pro enhanced games for PSVR2 yet.
Game is fun but performance on PC is not good compared to the visuals. It looks like they just took the Quest version and added better lighting which should give a rock solid 90 - 120 fps on higher end PCs but even on my 4080 the game has slow down and hiccups while loading between areas. It doesn’t matter if the graphics are on low or ultra either which is annoying. That being said the gameplay loop is a lot of fun, but damn did Valve ruin VR for me with Alyx being so damn good both graphically and performance wise. Even the VR mechanics in this game feel dated compared to Alyx. I love my Quest 3 and love the standalone games but the PCVR version of this needed some more time in the oven. Wish they could’ve added bullet wounds and proper blood splatter to make it easier to know where you’ve hit enemies as well. So far the game is a solid 7/10 for me. If the performance was better, the graphics were a tad bit more stable, and the hands had a bit more optimization (even Batman got this right but physical fingers that move along surfaces adds so much to making the game feel grounded) Wiping the mask, checking ammo, the way you load guns, and the bagpack are all handled fantastically though.
Oh thank god it's reprojected. I can't stand 90hz native, makes me physically ill. I hope they don't mess around and add some sort of performance mode on the ps5 pro I just ordered. Just give me the same reprojected frames on the new very capable hardware please. That's the way to win!
Hi, i like your reviews, but have to say.. resolution looks fantastic? Its mediocre and does not use DFR just like as1 and as2. Yes there are good details but no great resolution
Ideally big studios would support features that facilitate a step forward in the medium. Purely from the standpoint that eye tracking might become standard in headsets in future, Vertigo Games-a studio of about 200 people-should implement it even just as a means of developing that skill set in their teams. By comparison, Hello Games have around 45 people and managed to get DFR going in No Man's Sky.
I’m assuming he’s saying that’s all they ever do is review quest game but I will say gamertag reviewed it on all 3 and gave them all praise so not sure why that’s the one that drove him to unsubscribe I think his review was one of the best actually lol he gives a thorough review for all 3 platforms🤷

Man VR playtimes are all over the place, 7 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours lol

I really really enjoy panic cranking! Ten of ten so far (played 2.5hours and just finished chapter 2 of 13 on ps5 and I love it)
Great review Jammy, and thanks for including the "skip forward to the time on screen now" spoiler alerts! Very much appreciated ❤

Great review👍
Thank you Jammy👍
🔥 This Game Is Fire 🔥 Awesome… By the way… PSVR 2 is getting more and more popular recently, nice.
Happy Gaming Everyone 😎.
Good to hear I will eventually pick it up🤘🏻

Can’t wait to jump in!
Glad to hear about the great release state of this game!

It is incredible I agree

near or slightly above ITR I would say!
(however it’s reprojected of course)
Damn jump scares man! Lol I love this game so far.
Upload in 4k, nice!
UA-cam compression at 1080 is awful, and I wanna make sure these games look their best!👀🙏🏻
How scary is it compared to Resident Evil 4 and Village?
Similar to 4? Or village? Or scarier than both?
Thanks for the Review, everybody buy metro for the VR wins
It pisses me off that Vertigo keeps insisting on Reprojection.
Not really my thing, but a great review 👍

holding the grip buttons for a long time makes my fingers hurt after a while so this will decide whether I buy it on the psvr2 or quest 3
there is a toggle option so you don’t have to fully press
@@Jammyhero I don't really like playing with toggle so if there's no option for using the touch sensors then I will just buy it on the quest 3

Fantastic game, haptics are awesome, up there with amonst the best on psvr2.

You're asking for a lot but something tells me Vertigo Games will be able to accommodate you.
Teleport walk? PS5 Pro enhanced?
it does yeah, as for PS5 pro - no clue unfortunately
@@Jammyhero Thanks, then it’s a buy 👍

I do think the game looks incredible visually despite no DFR. it’s night and day between this and Arizona.
I just don't understand Vertigo Games aversion to using DFR at this point, is it just malice?

Cannot wait for this . Also just unsubbed from gamer tag and beardo banjo as they have done the Metro review on quest (no surprise there) .
Why is that a big deal
@@PACKS-m2x
because we don't get to know how the game is in one of the best VR platforms.
@@TheVRResistanceso people should unsub from without parole for reviewing it on psvr2 despite quest being the most popular platform? Makes no sense
