All the information is great, but I'm a bit disappointed you didn't address motion sickness, have some tips for overcoming it, and specifically shout out games that'll be comfortable experiences for people who suffer from it. I know that info is out there in a billion places at this point, but there's a decent chance many of the new PSVR 2 owners are new to VR, and it's absolutely essential knowledge.
@@Jammyhero Even those games feature a lot of motion, and I've specifically heard people feel sick playing Kayak without stabilisation options enabled. I'd say the safer options would be games where there's no artificial movement like Moss 1 and 2, Tetris Effect Connected, Puzzling Places, the "Job" style games (Job/Vacation Sim, Startenders, Tentacular, etc.), and any of the rhythm games where you're clearly stationary and stuff is coming at you (Beat Saber, either Box to the Beat or Beat the Beats... whichever one is the good one, I always mix them up).
I found the snap motion which is supposed to make people less sick weirds me out, because it's so unnatural. A normal turn motion which is supposed to make people more sick actually helps me feel more stable. Not standing helps a lot. I usually either sit on a tall stool so I can move my arms low (as compared to a sofa) or stand with my back touching something like a kitchen unit. Free-standing is asking for trouble.
Try and eat before playing and you'll be OK i used to get motion sickness when I 1st got the headset last year at launch but I quickly figured out if I had not eating atleast 30 mins before certain games would make me feel sick and if you do feel sick play with a fan blowing at you it also reduces the sickness
Hand Tracking Tip - If the tracking seems unresponsive or inconsistent, wipe off the OUTSIDE of the ring (where your wrists sit). There are sensors under the plastic that will lose tracking if the plastic gets dirty. A little alcohol wipe works wonders. Thanks Jammy for the beginner tips!
MOTION SICKNESS: If you get motion sickness there are a few things that can help. 1. The main one is choose the right games. Games like pistol whip, beat saber, synth riders are great because they are in a straight line and don’t cause motion sickness. Games that are slower paced and let you stop moving for a second are also good, these would include games like legendary tales and even some of the tactical shooters as long as you get rid of any head bob or sway and move point to point. 2. Keep it cold in the room and use a fan to keep the air moving. 3. Always stand. 4. Trick your brain by moving your body whenever you move on screen. Shuffle your feet in place or just tense your muscles. 5. Take a break when you start feeling seasick. Even just pausing and closing your eyes for 30 seconds can help.
Had the Psvr2 since release still absolutely love that headset. Especially games like Resident Evil 4 Remake\Village, GT7, TWD S&S, Madison VR and No Man Sky are stunning in vr. Nice to see so many new faces joining the vr community.
I have to recommend the Globular Cluster for comfort. Great timing. Always look forward to your videos. Become an excellent addition to the PSVR2 creator space.
Proud owner since one week. This rhing is awesome playing RE4 and RE7. Couldnt handle motion sickness with Psvr 1 but with the vr 2 its alot better. Can play for one hour and have a very light headache only. After one hour you really forget theres a world outside the headset..feels like homecoming when i put it off😂
Yess i love it im so happy I own a quest 2/3 and psvr1/2 since launches and I have sunk thousands of hours probably at this point into them and no matter what i always praise the psvr2 above all the only thing that ever makes me say “get a quest 2/3 then” is if they don’t have a ps5 because 1,000+ versus 200-500 and that’s it and it’ll still have the older great vr games “lies beneath, Vader trilogy etc.” is a hard sell but with most people I know already having a ps5 this hopefully pushes them over and coverts them to the vr cult hahaha (and psvr2 is 1000% worth it at its original price!!)
That's the hardest part of the game, switch to easy if necessary but you only need to survive for like 5mins so just run and hide until the cutscene happens!
Important tip: Don’t jump into hard core horror games if this is your first VR headset. Start with switch back or walking dead then resident evil, then propagation paradise hotel then last but not least once you get used to OLED darkness. Jump into Madison VR. Hard to learn the hard way.
Just got one today.....only had a quick go for an hr but already feel the difference over my quest 2. No mans sky and resident evil village along with walking dead will be my stapple for a good while
How do you not recommend Red Matter 2! The best looking game on PSVR 2 imo. It's a perfect mix of action and puzzle and really sticks the landing! Highly recommended!
Tip #1 buy the Globular cluster comfort mod!! Tip#2 get the PC adapter as there's not that many good FPS games on PSVR 2. Firewall ultra has no Developers and it's got ongoing problems, Pavlov is really good and the game has a massive fan base. GT7 and the Resident evil games and RED MATER 2 are the only really good games
New PSVR2 owner here! I couldn't play NMS, any horizontal turning/movement was incredibly jittery. I'll try again after further updates. Kayak VR is great, same for beat sabre. Gran Turismo is astounding but I'm taking baby steps until acclimatised to the motion sickness. I've heard it's best to immediately stop when feeling nauseous and to slowly build up your exposure time gradually
I know you guys just bought PSVR2 but if you have the money, get the Globular Cluster Mod ASAP. I was on the fence about this because I honestly didn’t have issues with comfort with the headset but the sweet spot of the Globular Cluster, and its ability to KEEP the sweet spot, is worth the price alone for me..The sweet spot is REALLY sweet guys. The comfort is also very noticeable even though I didn’t have issues with comfort on the original setup. I honestly feel like this should have been the stock setup for the headset…It’s that good IMHO.
11:03 too bad people can't hear "welcome to the family, son" on PSVR2 officially.. if you get what I mean lol But hey on PC there's a mod for it at least am I right
I just received mine for the second time. I bought one at launch and the controllers weren’t working properly. Sadly I’ll be returning it again back to Sony. I tried Resident evil, horizon and kayak and can’t play full game. X button doesn’t work, I’m not able to move in horizon, I’m stuck in the pool in kayak and can’t go to other places. I’ve tried everything, resetting controllers, tuning off and on with ps button. This is a big issue not just for me but many others with some YT videos having over 50k views about this issue. Also look on Amazon reviews, a bunch of negative reviews about controllers not working. This is one thing UA-camrs don’t warn you about. Maybe they got the good ones directly from Sony. I was able to play Resident evil beginning scene when swat busts in the house. It was amazing. I really wanted to keep it. This is just a warning that this could happen.
The first PSVr2 game I bought because it's slow moving and allows you to adjust to the environment was Tentacular. I couldn't stop laughing when I first played it! It's amazing how quickly the brain convinces you that you have tentacles for arms 😆 and it's so cute! Looking at the little people close to you face as you grab them and move them to your face really made me appreciate the quality of the PSVR2 from day one. The human brain is easily tricked.
Would this be better than a Quest 3 for pc? I have a Quest 3 running PCVR via my RTX 3080 desktop and it's been solid. The price cut has me tempted but its tough to tell if there would be any advantages over just sticking with my Quest 3 Virtual Desktop setup.
PSVR2 is old for me as I had it since last year February I spend more time on my Quest 3 as i use it for multiple things like making music doing fitness, playing Mixed Reality games and as a Virtual Cinema and i use it in Mixed Reality mode so it's like have your own giant monitor I occasionally use my PSVR2 to play GT7, Crossfire Sierra Squad and Synapse even though i have 26 more games lool including Resident Evil Village, Zoombieland Headshot Fever, Kayak Mirage, Job Simulator, Saints and Sinners Chapter, Runner just name a few but the biggest VR game I ever played is Asgards Wrath 2 on the Quest 3 is amazing also
I bought my PSVR2 a few weeks ago , but still never gave full price , I bought it from a pawnshop and it’s still in new condition , only gave $175 for it , played it once on gran tourismo 7 and haven’t picked it up again , yeah it’s nice , but not as nice as my Quest 3 , so much more to play on Quest 3 , but with the PC adapter coming in a few days , it might just take first place for my VR gaming experience. Guess I’ll have to wait and see. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
Here is a tip for you: I don't think a lot of people realise that you can actually extend the PSVR2 cable by 2 metres if you use a good quality, high data rate USB extension cable. I have been using one for months without issue. 3 Metres is too wrong and you will get an error on your screen. And although USB-C cables are supposed to be the same which ever way you install it, in practice one rotation works better than the other. Poor quality cables will fail (I know from experience and had to send a couple of cables back). My PS5 is installed in the conservatory which often gets too hot for a headset that can already make you sweat, so I run the extra long cable through the window and use it in the kitchen. I also installed a USB extension cable for the dongle for an original headset so I could put the dongle in the air to stop the audio braking up. This setup now works perfectly.
