It’s most likely king pin bushings on your front axle. When you pull the tires take the 3 bolt caps off the top and bottom and look at the bushings in the spindle. The pin and bushings are fairly cheap, but the spindle is expensive. Case Sprayer and Floater mechanic for 8 years, never seen a bent axle. Dozens and dozens of kingpins and bushings though.
Listen to this guy. Makes sense. Beautiful but old machine joints wear out. Heck at 70 I needed a new right knee joint and come summer at 72 years old getting a new right shoulder joint. Didn’t know they could do that. Left knee joint replacement n the winter. My point is, check the old guy’s joints.👍🤣😂😀🤣😁😎
Appreciate the information! Will take a look next week!
Updating old iron instead of being slaves to the dealer. This is why I love watching Welker Farms.
Big Brute getting some love. I fell that the Welkers are making a wise investment on the sprayer.
Good to see big brute still being modified
I know right, what a beast that thing is. I love it, almost as much as Mr. BigBud himself lol
Emery cloth helps with new pins and painted holes
Nick, as you were walking around describing your project, I heard nothing about replacing the seat with the nice Case seat that you have up on top of the office. I hope you just haven't forgotten about it!
thee brute is what brought me to the channel when i first got recommended the time-lapse of the build
UA-cam thought I’d like the 7390. Nothing in my viewing history then made that make sense. But here I am years later excited for every video.
Nice video and good fix on your tractor. Good to see you guys and so glad on your
Good job Nick on up date on the Big Brute 😁 God Bless
Great video Nick and Bob
It’s so satisfying to upgrade your older equipment. 👍
I love the way you guys upgrade your equipment everything is so expensive out there it's makes more sense just to upgrade what you have
Awesome to see a fellow Montana citizen, fixing older equipment and making it effective.
This is such a cool project, I love the new meets old equipment!!!
Awesome video thanks for sharing
I love how you guys have fun and making a good living, in my farm I'm usually stressed out.
You’re making some great upgrades! Looking forward to the next video.
Great video Nick. Hod bless you guys.

Love your old cats. Those 2003 f7s are rocket ships. Love the old powder specials also.
Amazing video, i cant wait for more! Gretttings from Argentina!
The best kind of Welkers video ! Oh yeah ! CaseIH !
WOW, the sound of Big Brute on a cold start!! Like Big John is swingin a nine pound hammer inside each cylinder!! Ya know, when it finally clears it's throat, it's gonna be talking tall!! Good sound. And that is without a cherry bonb muffler!! LOL Hope that new sprayer is even better than you hope. Good luck on that.. I like to see you building things like that.
Best diesel cold start I've seen in awhile. Merica
The big brute project is what got me to subscribe. Glad to see it getting some more love
I am So building a punch for the air hammer. Never thought of that!👍
Anti-seize works great on pins thanks for sharing. Always enjoy improving your projects as needed on the farm.
To straighten the front axle, use your rosebud to heat a spot on the bottom. When it gets nice and warm, slap that spot with a wet rag. It will pull the axle straight. Old NASCAR trick.
I am looking forward to see the Thundercat maintenance video 😀 It doesnt matter if it is a 6.2L engine or a 2 stroke engine, Nick is on it!
Dang those booms are long.. End to end...Different ZIP codes LOL
It's Aptil 14 and spring is not here yet. I am barely getting spring work done and have not put one seed in the ground. Unfortunately we don't get choose the climate. I wish the best for all us farmers worldwide. We have a world to feed, that includes your family.
The Circle of a Farmers Life, Fix, Replace, Repair. Prep the Fields, Plant, Spray, the Harvest ... then start over. Farmers are in a calling from God to be good stewards of the land. The more things are the same, the more I see all the differences there are from year to year,, Thank You for showing how it is done.
Sincerely Scott Davidson ( 3/4 of Century old ... lol born November 1947)
You could probably pull the front axle and take it to a shop that aligns big rigs. Did an internship at a truck repair shop and they had the gear to straighten some heavy duty stuff:)
Thanks for keeping the flying hammer in the video, something to chuckle at .
Helpful thanks
Great vid bro
Love this farm and what you all do and stand for!!
I'm gonna download the virtual Welker Farms farm in Farm Sim 22 over the weekend and play with the big buds and Mr Brute lol
Nice to see the old girl getting some love
I installed a Weed-it system last year on mine. Your going to love it!
Big brute clucking back to life! 👍🏾🤙🏾
I've been waiting 2 years for the Titan tire guy to bring tires for my kubota, he said he was coming but haven't seen him yet.
great video good to see mr welker god bless welkers
As Burt Munro (a Kiwi Bonneville Salt Flat sub 1000cc speed record holder 1967 that still current) once said ‘it’s only flat at the bottom
Looking forward to your videos about the Weed-It system. Pretty amazing technology. If your neighbors are any indication, you can pay for the system in about a year with significantly reduced herbicide application during burn off and summerfallow.
You could use a torch heating and cooling to straighten the axle.
rotate them front tires on the rims good to go for a bit!
Once again another good concise video with minimal talking and just narrative to support the video. Thats the best formula imho. Keep it up
Doesn't always end up that way but we try! Thanks 👍👊
The Weed-It system is a game changer in the Chem fallow areas. I’m running a system North if Havre and it has saved me substantial amounts of money on chemicals and time.
The lights on the snow mobile were great for visual effects on the video.
That's the cold weather tillage tractor. 😆
well you got me to look up that week it system and that is going to be one heck of a sprayer once it's finished. Can't wait to see it out killing some weeds!
When you're joining the electrical harnesses on the boom pack the connectors with dielectric grease to stop them corroding from the chemicals, we've had to do it with the fendt rogators and it solved a lot of hastle
1:45 think exhaust fan! How much does your winter snow fall affect your moisture requirements and needs through the growing season?
Love the brute glad to see upgrades
from swithzerland félicitations pour votre barre 120 pieds vous avez encore du boulot pour que votre automoteur fonctionne !!!
Thank you for all your video's. I recently was in the hospital with Kidney and Brain cancer surgery's your video's were watched and kept me up and well Thank You and God Bless
great video. Nice job. I have a problem when you are talking and then you start to talk low, cant hear you. I am so glad that y'all are getting BIG ready. Really enjoy watching you work on things, Thank you Nick and dad
Gotta love a good cold 🥶 start. 🧡🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🧡
The big brute is still going strong. That is going to be a very big sprayer. God bless stay safe positive
That was one mean cold start.
I like seeing old iron still being used, it sure beats a payment with today's price's. That pin was not wanting to cooperate, ya scared me for a second though, thought you were gonna take a bad hit from hammering in that pin. I like seeing your dad in the background shots, and i see him a lot in the video's, right there to give you a hand. I miss my dad, he passed back in 1994, when i was 23, but he taught me so many thing's, and how to be a hard worker. Your dad is so funny with the little jokes he makes, and always rolling with coby during the farming season. G-d bless y'all from a gal in michigan.
Coby is ecstatic that farm season has begun again. We don't see him anymore as he is either at the shop with the guys, or parked by Bob's (my dad) pickup, waiting for a ride. 😅
You can't beat those old Cummins and the big iron love it
There are companies that will straighten your sprayer axle. Some will come right to your place. Not sure about your area (online shows a few) but they can get it straight and that helps a lot on tires. There is a company that shows axle straightening on youtube, but I think I would have an experienced person do it. Hope you guys are all safe and healthy.
Awesome 👌
I heard the weeds laughing until they saw the big brute lol 😂 great video thanks for sharing
Nice looking boom system, big truck spring shop probably straighten axle
It sounds a bit petty but will you change the decals over to be 425/120 now. If I remember correctly the 100 meant the width of the boom. Great video as always guys, god bless this is going to be the year I know it is. Happy farming.
That's a sweet pin pusher!
Thanks for another great video.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
Lots of upgrades for big brute. Things it needed as you said. Always maintenance to be done. That new starter is really quite and starts the engine really good compared to the old one. Good going nick and dad.
The new boom and spraying system sound really good. Will be a great upgrade to your spraying season.
You mentioned it made a difference during a dry season per what your neighbor experienced. That being the case it is worth the upgrade.
My question is : is that due to what you are spraying or just simply having a bigger system to put down the chemicals.
Not sure I totally followed you there nick.
The new aluminum booms look very nice. Will cover a lot more ground. Believe you said 120 foot. Pretty good sized path going down the field.
The old snowmobile was tough to run. Needs to be used a bit. I rode for years and really enjoyed it. Rode a lot in upper Wisconsin.
About it I guess. Looking forward to the new spraying system and booms. Keep us in the loop.
Thanks for everything nick and dad.
Take care and be safe.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
Thank you!
First some I ever saw one of those systems was in Australia in 2010. It used a combo of radar and thermal. It would pick up the chloroform in the plants and trigger the nozzle to spray the weed. Looked slick!
Chloroform? Did you mistype and it should had been chlorophyll?
Good show
This is the reason i love Welker Farms
Your going to have to have three planters going this year to get caught up if the weather keeps going maybe put that smaller bud on the old flex coil
The snow looks awesome...from Clovis to the North East through Kansas it is a different drought. Much of the "HRW" wheat has died. May help your price! A small crop to export. I have a field south of the Oklahoma line that has had 1" of moisture since June.
To the North of my headquarters there are three Faria dairy barns and two more under construction, like the South Fork Dairy that exploded neat Dimmitt TX. Cows have to have hay! Montana wheat could be a bumper...get the Bud's ready!
Good luck getting your new booms on Big Brute
More snow this season should = more moisture for planting right?
The new gear reduction starters are awesome on old equipment. I would start with checking the king pins on the end of the axles and then the tow in on the tires. Check the cheap and easy things first. I think bending with bendon on you tube is a little far way to straighten it for you
Great video!
I love melding new technology with older but gooder equipment!
Laura & Grant, it's not to often that I comment on UA-cam farmers videos, but I saw something early on in your video that most failed to notice. First when you show finishing I guess turbo tilling in the first field near the road, I need to give you some major kudos for not farming public right-of-ways as I see so many farmers do here in Ohio.
Yes..."Just 1 or 2 more rows yields XYZ bushels"... yep that is true! I get the mindset of yeah, we all pay taxes. But this is getting out of control. Normally in my state the utility poles along roadways are on the State, County, and Township right-of-ways and you see where farmers ease over to the ditches and then go around the utility poles.
This came apparent to me when the State was doing upgrade improvements along one of their rural state routes and after surveyors staked right-of-ways and during construction 🚧 the local farmers sought payment for damaged crops that were not even on their property!
So in my township we had surveyors stake a number of our roadways and we delt with the same! This poses an even bigger problem!
Each year we are spending tens of thousands ditching and cleaning ditches and culverts. Then of course the farmers want the spoils claiming they want their topsoil back. Well stop farming our right-of-ways!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Also seeing you are a newer and younger farmer, I get the residue helps with weed control and supplying nutrients. However when we get big rains that we call duck drowners, you crop residue ends up in out ditches and waterways.
We didn't have this problem back in days of plowing where these residues were turned over and decomposing in the ground. Yes no-till and turbo tilling saves you all money but its creating expensive problems down stream... literally!!!
The next part of this problem is more and more of you guys are tiling your fields and where are you running too? 🤔🤔🤔 Yep our ditches and waterways that were not designed to handle draining hundreds of acres of subsurface and surface water we are seeing more erosion in or ditches and small streams!
Laura & Grant your video provides an excellent example of how yout tilling provides you excellent seed beds on your farm land but creates problems for state county and township.
I hope as young farmers you guys help to come up with ways to keep your residue on your fields and out of our ditches and waterways!
As for Gage the young man was smart enough to know when to quit and not bury the tractor like we so many do!
All the best and keep up the great content and hope to see future videos that address the above conservation problems!😉👍👍
You need to be a sponsor for weed it. As soon as people see you start saving all that chemical and refill time. You will be the #1 weed it sales guy in the states. And at those prices you need to get something for educating everybody. No one around here even knows what they are. You will bring in millions in sales for them.
I have replaced front axles on my trucks. Looks to me like a 16,000 lbs or 20,000.
You can straighten them.
Or by a complete axle with hubs and brakes.
Just did a 03 pete and went with a 16,000.
I know money doesn't grow on trees but check it out. New drums, brakes, king pins, and most of the steering systems. Good to see the old school equipment getting new life.
Before buying a new Frontaxle.. i would check the top/low bearings, or simply swap the tires on the rims sidewise every year..
'Bendin with bendon' did a video about straightening front axles. Definitely possible.
That MT39 starter is the best thing to do when putting a new starter in . I put them in all my Rigs when the old monster starters die
Looks good buy got bigger and more hi tech here in the UK bit more expensive but would save loads in the long run
It might be that it is toed out....something to check along with loose wheel bearings or as thers have committed.... Kingpins ...possibly a bent axle let us know what you find out thanks for the videos guys
smy uncle the farmer in the family alive always said it takes money to save money. We too for years had the oldest of equipement and in 2000 to 2006 he started practicing what he preached cause prices of things was icreasing except the prices of crops. And we toobuilt a lot of our own equipment
How nice did Brute sound on start? Sooo sweet! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
I'm dreading putting a new starter on my little MF 135, can I just get you to do it?? You make it look so easy!! 🙂
Hard to believe you guys still have snow. ❄❄⛄
VERY GOOD VIDEO 👍 👍
The West Jordan Freightliner can bend your axle strait but the cost of taking it down there and back might be less than a new axle.
Praying all that snow melts into the soil!
Is big brute getting the seat upgrade also as I see you still have one in the background like then ones you put in the buds
I love your friendly persuader ( sledgehammer)
Thanks Nick & Dad 👉🙏🙏👀✝
Did you guys check the toe setting on your steer wheels, looks like it could be toed out also. 😎 ❤️ 👍
Looking good and please wear ear defenders!
Tires are only half used, unmount , remount, switch sides , good for another season or spares, :)
Nothing better than the sound of a monster diesel cold starting.
Les saludo desde Chile 🇨🇱
