Not gonna lie, this song dropped at a very interesting time in my life. I'm currently facing a very difficult choice, and this feels like it's pushing me in the right direction... Thank you, Nemophila!
So let's recap the last few months of Nemophila. Released a bunch of new songs and MVs, released an English version of their previous album, played a couple dates in the U.S., released a new album, had a baby!, did a Japan tour, worked and toured with side projects, touring the U.S., planning another Japan tour, and now releasing a new single and MV. Is there a harder working band out there?
Their lyrics are always so uplifting and yet their music hits so hard. This song also shows off Mayu's vocals, from screaming to soft. Amazing! Hara's slip is so funny. The look of determination on her face and so professional how she handled it. Really hope I get to see them live one day.
Hazuki's rig gave out during the "Trooper" last night in LA. SAKI covered while the techs and staff corrected it. She had to get another guitar. It took some time and SAKI told how they almost missed their San Francisco to LA flight to fill the time.
Amazing song! I was hoping they would have played it live in SF or LA but still hoping for it at the Dallas show. You really need to see them live! I’ve seen them 3 times now and they blow my mind ever time.
The San Fran show was awesome. I was right in front of Haraguchi-san, she recovered quickly. Hazuki almost tripped twice on this same song (REVIVE). I got a nod from Tamu and she saluted us in the front row. I hope they play this song in Houston or Dallas.

That's probably why Hazuki plays in nemophila.... she needs an outlet to show what she can really do..... that's kind of what the band was formed for.... 3 musicians (vocals/bass/guitarist) in bands that didn't utilize them properly or who's bands had failed in some way, the TOP female session drummer in japan (she sight reads this stuff for other groups all the time and can fill in live for them even), and Saki... a legend who's band was coming to an end.... Nemophila was destined to be huge! And with THE most unique lead vocalist in the industry, imho. Nobody sounds like Mayu... or has her visual performance skills (she knows how to make an entrance in music videos, that's for sure!)
I was on the opposite side of the stage and missed that. Haraguchi-san is quickly becoming my fav of the group. I love the cute faces she makes when she's playing. I don't know if she does it in every performance, but she did what sounded like the opening bass riff from Primus' My Name is Mud. She's pretty damn awesome in my book!
Regarding Tamu's drum kit, it is the same she used since December of 2021, IIRC it appears first in the Hozuki MV and is used everywhere after that. Before that she used a double fade finished kit (blue-white-blue) maybe you are remembering that, this one is a single fade from light brownish(yellowish) to a darker blue and if I have seen it right the finish is not as shiny as the old one.
That metalcore riff really reminds me of the old Refused songs, I think the ending of New Noise, maybe. Like proto-metalcore. I love it, it goes so hard.

It’s a great song and a cool video, but I’m struck by how it sounds a LOT like A Ray of Light: the riff, the growls, the vocal melody, and the lyrical theme. The overall effect, though, is to create a very accessible song. I hope it brings greater exposure for the band. I don’t think they played this in San Francisco; did I miss it?
