@@pittsjohn57 so you do a trike? I have been looking into trying this as getting back into fixed wing flight is expensive for the flying I would do. How would you compare the trike to foot launched? I'm concerned about transportation and space needed to fly.

Working in customer service, I learned that the best response in a situation like that is, "What would you like me to do to resolve this?" Depending on their answer your reply is "Ok" or "Sorry, I can't do that."

Customer service has really gone down the drain recently. Customers are so unreasonable and disgustingly rude and think you are a genie and work there just to grant them their every unreasonable wish. Management allowing them to yell and scream instead of calmly articulating what the want so they see its unreasonable, doesnt help.

Great video it was reminiscent of your earliest videos. The words “G.D.” are the two worst words you can say together. :-) And i can speak to the older man incident… it wasn’t about age you were right. It’s important and sometimes very difficult to maintain a gratitude attitude first and foremost in our forebrains often when we need it most. Afterwards you called him a bad word, but he knew that’s what you were thinking all along even though it ended on decent terms. Why not say “yes sir” to begin with and still end at the same place on relatively decent terms, regardless of how he “came at you.” If he was a 26 year old punk it would be the same situation. He was probably having a bad day feeling a little jealous and not feeling at all grateful. Glad you mentioned that you feel grateful at the end. Maintain that gratitude attitude protocol mr ambassador. Smooth Skies. 😎

Any rumors or gossip in the area about a busted or out of gas pilot having to land at the bottom causing a big stink when tourists fly over that hole? Like when a helicopter crashed in the 80s in the grand canyon doing near the riverbottom tours and crashed from sudden gusts which caused the no fly restrictions? How did they get the dirt out? There has to be some kind of road.

@@georgedunkelberg5004 my question was do we consider an area forever off limits if we observe someone on the ground motion for us to vacate? I've been asked by homeowners to avoid flying near their property indefinitely to reduce risk of scaring their pets/livestock which I respectfully follow but there are some larger sites like the Casa Grande mine and Pinal Aircraft Boneyard which are amazing locations to fly and I'd like to continue revisiting but we all know we're not happily welcomed to fly over. In these situations I'll just exercise increased awareness of my actions and be extra respectful while minimizing the duration of my visits. I recognize I'm being selective however in my response to this feedback.

There are so many places that you cant drive or walk, but flying has few limits. All of the NO TRESPASSING signs and barbed wire fences dont apply?

To me, it sounds like Papa had to go back to the guys he rules over day in and day out, and say Well boys, I got schooled."" He's well within the law, and I'm out of line.Nbut I doubt that's the way he explained it.
    Great Flight.

Hopefully you don't get another call from the FAA. Edit: ok read below there's no air restrictions there, guy was just being a nazi.

On behalf of all old farts let me say, “You do you”! I imagine this gentleman is thinking if something happens to you and you crash into his site then You’ll sue because that’s what Americans do. Then if his guys get hurt it’s workman’s comp etc, and maybe he thinks it’s just not worth it. He should have just asked you not to fly over his site, and not been trying some power plays.

The copper pit never ceases to amaze. Re: your interaction/story. Some people are great, some are ass holes, old or young(er). Was he on a power trip? Was his kid(s)/wife/ex/gf/employees giving him grief and he's taking it out on others? Is his business underwater or has a lot of seemingly insurmountable problems arisen or is the bank calling in loan(s) or he's behind schedule or losing clientele or ? Maybe it is just one of those days he needed to kick his dog, but the dog had left home...who knows. Bottom line, it ended a stalemate, you stood your ground and karma offered to balance the negative interaction with the great 'older' guy on a MC (it is hard to be grumpy while enjoying a good ride). The motorcyclist dropped by to show you that the construction (contractor's life can be tough) guy was an anomaly, an example from the 'Karen' tail of the bell curve while the motorcyclist is from the 'life's to live' tail. It is most important that you don't incorporate the contractor's bad behavior/attitude into your life or think all old folks are grumpy bastards. You have a great life going, good people in it and hopefully a long one to enjoy the opportunities ahead. Thank you for the great vid! Your UNCUT ones are the best, IMHO.

This wasn't an age thing...that idiot was a Karen. People like that want the law to be what they think it should be, not what it is. They saw you doing something they don't like and try to press their will on you. You can never please people like that and they are 100% negative and trying to bring everyone else into their misery. I would likely just start laughing at him once he was disrespectful. They cannot stand it when you don't take them seriously. Laughing at them is the one thing that will push them over the edge...then they end up in jail. More reasons to laugh. As you say...be respectful and we can have a respectful conversation. We may not agree, but we can be civil. Start with the Karen crap and I will push all your buttons until you cross the line and get yourself in serious trouble.

BTW - Rebar is seriously bad. I was skydiving a few years ago and the load in front of us took too much time exiting the plane and we got dropped too far from the LZ. The only real landing spot available that wasn't surrounded by a locked fence or a busy road was a dirt turnaround on a small dirt road. It was about 30' across so I set up to land there and hit the center. Behind me were another 4 people including a girl with about 20 jumps that was struggling with every jump. She ignored where we were landing and decided to land in the small spot just off the dirt road that I had rejected due to some low trees on the approach into the wind. After I landed, I saw it was an abandoned construction site with 15' tall rebar sticking up everywhere like pungie sticks. Totally invisible from the air due to the rust color...no contrast with the dirt and old broken concrete ground. She flew right into the pungie field ignoring our hand signals and yells. Her body slammed right into a vertical rebar (1-1.5") about 3-4' off the ground. The rebar flexed and bounced her backward after a really solid hit. Luckily, she was sore but no injuries. Had she landed on top of one of the pungie sticks it could have been really bad. We walked to the main road just as the van from the DZ pulled up to give us a ride back. Now, I never assume a potential LZ is clear because there are many hazards that can exist that are not visible from the air. If possible, scout it out, just like you did looking for power lines on approach to the copper mine so you could video flying in low to the ground.
