  • A cold front had turned a somewhat warm day, cool. The gloomy afternoon seemed to change, as I noticed a cloud break southwest over the Pamlico Sound. I set my tripod low at the end of the dock with the Genie Mini tracking the Sun. A couple of small craft rolled in from the day and as the Sun set up its finale, the Swan Quarter ferry rolled into the harbor. The once silver harbor turned copper. Even after this 50 minute timelapse, the colors continued to come forth. Autumn offers great colors during sunrise and sunset as the Earth tilts away from the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere. Here on Ocracoke Island, the Atlantic and Pamlico Sound moisture seems to add color, too. A grand show indeed!
