While sheep are good (and cute), they are sadly the least profitable animal to place in barns. There are plenty of other ways, however, to get cloth if you need it. One such way is with rabbits, who also produce rabbit's feet to give to villagers as a loved gift. Alternatively, if you like combat, you can kill mummies in the skull cavern who drop cloth. If you're more of a fisher, placing soggy newspapers into a recycling machine has a 10% chance to yield cloth. And finally, with the furniture catalog, you can put a yellow couch into a loom to get 1 cloth. Don't ask why; this also only works with yellow couches.
