Doom Eternal is the greatest single-player FPS of all time. The DLC, when you're fully suited up and maxed out, demands you to continue fresh from the base game-or face certain death. It’s the best kind of endgame - two insanely challenging DLCs. While the game might seem chaotic at first, it’s actually a beautiful ballet of violence. Once you master the meathook on the shotgun and learn how to play, you’re basically Spider-Man armed to the teeth. It’s an insane experience, and I love it so much-it's just perfect. I remember Hugo Martin describing Doom Dark Ages as switching from being an F-22 fighter jet to an Abrams tank, which makes me a little sad :(
Cool, thanks for answering my question about the thing that got you to 'finally' try a Zelda game. Really goes to show WHY companies like Nintendo will try completely different ideas 30+ years into a franchise - because it wins new fans who then go back and play through others!
I wanna keep a lot of positivity going towards these people. LSM deserves to be treated different than other podcasts because the people here are special. Everyone that comes on the shows is greatly appreciated
I wasn’t looking at the screen and heard Brad say “both Moriarty’s” and I got excited thinking it was Colin and the Dagster. Has Dagan ever been on Summon? Can we get Dagan + Colin on Summon (at the same time)?
Love a good sports talk to start the show. As a Chargers fan I’m happy we made the playoffs this year. We have a great QB and finally a great head coach. Excited to see how far we can go this year. I at least want 1 playoff win cause I do feel we are a year or 2 away as being Super Bowl contenders. We can definitely beat The Texans this weekend though. Bolt Up ⚡️
its crazy that doom physical for ps4 is like 40-50 usd here in Sweden now. they used to be 10-15 and give them away, but now that so few are around? nope. definitely worth to have in your ps4 collection. I have a top 50 ps4 games and need it.
I know. I know. I’m late. Colin, this is (some how) the first time I’ve “met” your wife after years of being a fan and my friend, she is FANTASTIC. How perfect is she for you?? I know you’ve been married forever but I am genuinely happy to see you winning so freaking hard. 😂
2:41:40 I think there was a Megaman gacha game! It was Megaman X Dive, which only came out in 2020 or so but service ended and was pretty quickly replaced wth the Offline version you could buy as a stand-alone game. Still havent tried it out but I am super-curious how these revised offline versions of gacha games feel to progress through, like Megaton Musashi W or Animal Crossing Pocket Camp
Glad I said "2023" and not "only 6 months in 2023." 😂 I literally finished up 6 and then a month later Gaiden came out. (Hated it.) So why did I keep playing? 50% Kiryu, 30% Substory nonsense, 20% Gameplay, 10% needing to see the entire wild ride for myself. It was like junk food or watching bad movies. The only reason i thought Infinite's main story might be good was because Like a Dragon's story was actually good. I thought maybe they learned. But then I played Gaiden and realized that was not remotely the case. lol Great games though, would recommend. I still have Yakuza Dead Souls on my list, and I am totally going for it. Will probably wait until Pirate Yakuza is heavily discounted. Thanks all. ~This Week's Psycho
Hugo Martin had stated the hub world was supposed to be much more with things added post launch, like with an arena builder and stuff but the game released just as lock downs hit and COVID really messed up their plans. Still I get your frustration with it, it’s kind of unnecessary in hindsight and could have all been in menus, just wanted to add that bit of context. I am an Eternal fanboy 😅 I agree with Brad, the game really is meant for mouse and keyboard, the amount of movement and speed you can achieve in that game with the meathook is insane and one of the big reasons why the combat loop is so fun, not to mention the added resource management with chainsaw being more of a demand, dashes, flame belch, and blood punch, as well as the more dynamic ways you can kill enemies with weak points, staggers and all that. I love 2016 too, but to me the combat in Eternal is a masterpiece of design. It’s a break neck speed heavy metal chess board.
the solution to your vacuum dilemma should have been to throw out the defective dog that poops in the house, not the roomba that was trying to do its job.
DOOM 2016 is amazing, that game is still so much fun to play through, thus far I’ve done it twice. DOOM Eternal is still very good, but the first game still feels better overall.
I’m 35 (one year younger than you) and my cousins and I used to use that word in reference to Mario/Sonic levels all the time. Maybe it was an East coast thing?
I don't think ive ever heard a worse silent hill 2 analysis than Colin's "it's an action game that's is also a survival horror game" "The game is way more videogamey than resident evil" Lol 😂
Ah yes, the great Turn Based RPG that is football. Imagine your favorite RPG, now remove all the story, insert ads, and only play the battles without context, over and over and all your progress gets wiped every year. Yep, its weird how gamers don’t like football. It’s actually weird how Colin doesn’t like live service games, or competitive gaming, because thats what Football is more akin to. Also Blood Bowl is exactly what Brad asked for in terms of fantasy foodtball!
The game is the story though. The story of your team’s ups and downs, each drive is a quest, each touchdown like finishing a boss battle. lol I’m intentionally making it seem over dramatic, but following your team over a season literally is the story. Like imagine the plot twists of a head coach being fired, or the “chosen one” quarterback getting injured but then his backup ends up playing incredibly well, for example. I mean, football’s not for everyone, but that’s the story at least.
@@unkempthawkyou can make anything a story then tbh Things happening with a beginning and end isn’t really a story. But ok, I don’t hate football btw. I just dont understand the comparison to an RPG or even a turn based game really. I love playing football manager on pc, the meta game of a season and a team is great. But I completely see why the common gamer obline has little interest in it.
@ true, I see where you’re coming from. Definitely can understand why it’s not appealing to all gamers and stuff. I think Colin might be saying that from the coach’s perspective, NFL games are like a turn based RPG, since the coach decides who is playing in each position, which plays are ran, and managing the clock and everything
I can't remember a lot of Borderlands 1 but I loved the writing and humor in Borderlands 2 and I've played it a handful of times. Borderlands 3 is where they lost me as the Calypso Twins were super terrible and cringey. Honorable mention goes to Tales From The Borderlands. I don't like Telltale games in general but really liked TFTB. I'd say don't play that after BL2 though. As far as BL4 goes I really hope they overhaul the UI as it's very dated and annoying to do certain things that you end up needing to do over and over such as item management.
I remember getting burned twice in a row buying Rage and Brink. Both looked so good and I ended up not enjoying either at all. It really made me stop trusting Bethesda.
Brad becoming marriage counselor to Colin and Micah is one of the greatest gifts LSM’s ever given us
It’s so great lmao
It’s awkward entertainment agreed.
I’m enjoying Colin just glazing the doom games finally
Man needs to go back and retry immortals of Aveum and realise how crazy he was.

It’s very simple. I see Colin and Brad in the same video, I click and watch immediately.
I love Colin and Brad in the same group. Still surreal to me a year later he’s at LSM. Love him
Sounds gay
@@MisterK-YT nothin wrong with that
Welcome back Summoners! Excited for another year of my favorite podcast
2025. The year of the Summonussy
Colin has such a nice voice when he's not doing his vocal fry thing, but he wouldn't cut it out 🤣
Much love too you guys. I really love these episodes. They fill my heart up with love for my fellow humans
Cool, thanks for answering my question about the thing that got you to 'finally' try a Zelda game.

Marriage counseling trio lesgooo
When Micah said Cog I fell off my chair laughing🤣🤣🤣🤣 3:40:26
I was DYING 😂😂
Micah accidently starting the first human resources incident

Micah played and liked Minish Cap?! She'll forever be one of the homies now for that alone 🥲
Brad face during the married couples bin debate is priceless!
I wasn’t looking at the screen and heard Brad say “both Moriarty’s” and I got excited thinking it was Colin and the Dagster. Has Dagan ever been on Summon? Can we get Dagan + Colin on Summon (at the same time)?
One of the first few episodes had Dagan and Collin talk about Helldivers 2. Havent had Dagan since so I'd hope to get him on again
Colin wishing the Jets would lose made me laugh.

I think chargers have got it, you guys have Harbaugh and the Texans always choke in the playoffs
3:32:08 Micah's face lmaoooo I did the same thing lol.
Lmaoo “what a Black looks like on a CRT” Micah laugh at that 😂
Phantom Hourglass was my first Zelda game. It might have a bad rep, but I love it still... At least the memories.
Michah's laugh is food for my soul. It's so joyful.
Summon Sign about to become the LSM flagship show.
Micah saying Barrel Bucks is not the name, the funniest thing said this podcast
Collin & Brad is the best duo on LSM!
Colin, it's not too late for you to jump on the bandwagon for my Detroit Lions!

Thank you for reinforcing the claim that living alone is The way
I really like Rage 1 and 2. 2 is a fun power fantasy fps. Just mindless fun. Like Doom with Bioshock powers. I think people will enjoy it.

I learned about beans being poisonous from Breaking Bad. That’s how Walter White makes the ricin.
Literally my mind went to Breaking Bad as soon as Micah mentioned about beans being poisonous🤣
Summon Sports is brought to you by you.
I’m 36 - not that much younger than Colin - and I can’t recall having ever heard the term “board” to refer to stage/level.
I’m 35 (one year younger than you) and my cousins and I used to use that word in reference to Mario/Sonic levels all the time.

Damn. Colin sold out to big hoodie. I should have seen this coming.
3:32:07 😂
Michah - if youre looking for a use for the Xbox it can be a really good emulation machine
10:17 Nintendo is even making Colin mad😂
Players want good ownership. Jets don’t have that
Sort it out Micha 😂
lmfao Micah said Cog
Majora's Mask is way scarier than Doom

Spoken like someone who has never followed a sports team.
You actually keep some stuff from season to season. Experience, for example. So, I guess football is a rogue-like.

I found Spiritfarer SO boring but maybe that is just me
Doom Eternal is drastically inferior in almost every way.
That's highly subjective...
I can't watch the NFL. It's like 10% play, 40% dudes talking, 50% ads. I don't like turn based rpgs either, though. I do love RTS and hockey however.
Football sucks
Dude as an international viewer I check out anytime they talk about NFL or Hockey lol
