same here, the ending of ep 4 had me stressed ngl it was so good
This was the level of Dark that Season One was supposed to be, but due to the actors being too young they turned it Into a mystery instead. But now they are NOT holding back!
but that build-up to this was well worth the wait like this was DARK
the seasons was always dark and enjoyable... you just have shit taste. the first season is reason why ppl love this show... and if you dont think season 1 was scary , imagine being an 11 year old running away from a monster without a face or emotion
Season one feels way darker though, at least to me.
I think because season one was a lot more real and grounded while this is a little too wacky. Like season one was about a mom who’s live was falling apart due to a missing child
While this season she literally flies to Russia to try and break someone out of Soviet prison.
& the real villain of season one was a careless government that causes problems, refuses to take responsibility, and sweeps everything under the rug (which is very real)

I loved Chrissy and Eddie’s chemistry. It’s so sad they didn’t get more screentime together.

Guys they're not that old lmao. They filmed last year and Lucas' actor is the oldest at 20 but only just turned 20 towards the end of filming. The others were all 16-19.
Sadie is 20 too idk when they stopped filming though. Crazy
Jonathan, Nancy, and Steve's actors were in their 20's and older then the kids are now when they portrayed high schoolers in season 1. No one complained or said shit about them then, it honestly doesn't matter to me.

Just finished that one, ngl I'm a sobbing mess, I don't usually cry unless a character is dying but something about Max and that music... It just got to me, I was literally overwhelmed by emotions, so far the best ep of the season, if not the show for me!!

8:34 it was actually easier to hack shit back in the 80's because most computers had practically zero security and most adults had no idea how any of it worked. So if a kid read a few books about computers they could get into a local school computer pretty easy

so far just into 2 eps. but this brings back S1 feels ! S2 & S3 feel lighter than 1 & 4 imo.

Fellows. The Duffer Brothers are pushing the envelope for season 4 of Stranger Things. That’s why the show introduced the disclaimer. It’s very very very DARK. I screamed at the torture and death scenes. Yes there are references to Nightmare on Elm Street. I even said to myself Hey this is Nightmare on Elm Street” These brothers are so awesome.

I was confused whether Chrissy was pregnant or just anorexic and wanted harder drugs to deal with her traumatic visions

I definitely think she was bulimic or anorexic with how the visions of her mom where always talking about "taking the dress out a little" and calling her a fat pig and stuff.

I think Chrissy was obsessed with being skinny to fit the image of being perfect for her mother, like if you listen to the dialogue when she's in the bathroom that's what is Implied, I also think she was making herself throw up in the bathroom when Max came in
Love the attention to detail in that first flashback with eleven after finishing all the eps out so far you really notice it

Watching younger people react to 80s and 90s bullying is both enlightening and hopeful. I was in school during the 80s and 90s and yeah... that was how it was. And teachers and parents usually told those of us being massively bullied that we should just try and fit in more. My mom told me when I was 10 that if I was being "picked on" (they never called it bullying) that i must be doing something wrong. One girl broke my collar bone by shoving me off the top of a lookout thing at a park when I was 15. I was just sent to the hospital then asked why I dont just stay away from her and if I didn't want trouble I should lose weight..... I was 135lbs... got SAed when I was 16 and was just grounded and told I got what I asked for because I went to that party... seriously.... we have come a long way in some ways. Im so glad the bullying seems ridiculous to you... it should. It was.

It really bugs me how people wait till season 4 to say Max is a good actor…she’s been a good actor.
In the 80's and 90's... bullying was a Major issue! I was bullied all the way from 3rd grade.. to 7th grade.. until I beat up the bully in front of EVERYONE during breakfast in the cafeteria.. he started it.. I finished it! And as far as Caucasian schools and black schools... I am white.. and when to major black school.. and was bullied by black kids in 3rd and 4th grade.. and white kids in 5th through 7th.. so bullies really come in all colors... just saying! Happy ending tho.. after I beat the bully.. I became very popular from that point on.. and never got bullied again! In fact.. I even protected kids from bullies from then through high school!!

As much as it’s great for the show to have the kids growing up and maturing into adulthood, it is sad that Lucas’s friends weren’t there for him, when he made the winning shot at the championship game. Instead of being happy for Lucas finally doing something he loves to do, basketball, Lucas’s friends sadly don’t show up for the game, because either they’re afraid that Lucas will drop them to be a full fledge jock, jealous of him that he is becoming one of the cool kids in school, or both. I hope that Lucas will patch things up. BTW…. It’s hilarious that Erica, Lucas’s sister took his place in The Hells Fire Club.

Also whilst it doesn't fully absolve her of the killings she was a little kid being experimented on to the point she may have had a mental breakdown. Still fucked up but I highly doubt she did it out of pure malice or that it was premeditated
