What I loved about how this routine was filmed is the fact that you shared poetry and passages from her writing, I think that really makes it feel like being close to the writer, not just their routine.

I love how you always close your eyes for a moment when waving hello at us. :) It has something so endearing about it and makes me think of seals in the best way. 😁💛

Aww that's an adorable comparison. I was obsessed with seals when I was a kid. I'm sure Christy will appreciate that comparison too because of the short story she wrote, The Mercy of Sea-Foam. I love the closed-eyes-wave too; there's something very anime about it.

It might be simple, but I think this writing routine also highlights key points on what matters at the end: keep writing and take effective breaks✨️
It also shows how different we are as writers and what fits better with our needs.

The poem featured in this video 'Mad Girls Love Song' reminded me of the scene in the show Dickinson where Emily (as in Emily Dickinson) and Lavinia travelled a hundred years into the future and met Sylvia Plath. In the scene Sylvia recites a part of this very poem. You can find it in the youtube video titled "Emily tells Lavinia she loves Sue Dickinson season 3 episode 7". The whole series is amazing.

The form of 'Mad Girl's Love Song' is a Villanelle. The rest of her poems are generally classed as verse poems, for she rarely (if ever) wrote prose poems.
