    Very clear and insightful, what's left is to understand what is motor, transformer and generator to fully understand why the former load can be known and the latter's no

      The motors load can be known because it’s pulling the actual load itself. A generator and a transformer supply the power for the load to feed off of. You can’t know Kw on a generator or a transformer unless you know what it’s feeding and the load it pulls.

    In the US, generators in fact are rated in kW based on a guaranteed performance at 0.8pf.

    The pumped storage hydroelectricity tower plant uses a power generation method: the power generation capacity of one generator is small, but 960 generators on 30 floors are gathered to create a large capacity. The power consumption for pumping is 15,000kW, and 1,200kW per generator, a total of 1,152,000kW with 960 generators."
    The water flowing inside the power plant is collected in the lower reservoir and pumped up to the upper reservoir, circulating the upper and lower parts of the tower in real time.“

    How many average houses can a 130kva generator power of the houses uses 240v. We generally don't use air con here. Thanks

    No, motor gives mech energy which note watt. generator gives elec energy which mention VA.

    KW is 1000 V X A ( Not divide by 1000)

    • @electroduval831
      @electroduval831 2 роки тому +3

      No, V X A is giving you a big number, like 54,000 VA. You must divide this by 1000 to say “54 kVA”.

      I was wondering if it’s a locale thing - always been amperage in the UK at least 😮
