That's too funny when I was given one, found out it was a hybrid, I wouldn't give her up, I had a dream of rescuing a pup that looked like this, no clue, thought she was ADORABLE! Her name is Dora 🤣🤣🤣
@@FishesAndLoaves997 yes ma'am. That is what her papers say. Told me it was a Pomeranian. I had a dream about this dog, saying how adorable she is, her name was Dora ! How cool is that? What a bundle of joy and energy lol. Jesus bless you 🕊
I wish I had seen this video before I got my pomsky. But I wouldn't trade him for the world. It is very true that he is always hyper/energetic, and EVERYONE/THING is his friend. He does the 2 leg hop/walk when he is excited.
Mine too! I love it. I would never get another breed he’s perfect but to be better informed Before I got him would’ve been great. His Instagram is TruBlu.Pomsky
If you are a Pomsky owner and would like your Pomsky to be featured in one of our future videos 🎬🎬🎬, feel free to contact us via email or Instagram. Both are listed in the comment section of this video. We always have one or two videos on the go. We sometimes are looking for very specific content and sometimes are just looking for Pomsky puppies being cute and funny. We can give you more details about what we are looking for at the moment 🧐🧐🧐.
Haha, we've had many of those in the past. Please film it. It might be useful footage for a future video, in the event we expand our channel into other directions 🤭🤥🤭.
How bad is the shedding? My mom wants to get me one for my first dog but I’m leaning towards a different breed.. are they worth it? Can they be trained? I’m just really scared. And I don’t want hair everywhere on top of behavior problems
Thank you for this video! I was struggling so hard to find more info about adult pomskys and there's even less images of adult ones. Now I can definitely say my lifestyle and home can't accommodate a pomsky. I'll just stay with looking at cute puppy pictures and do more research on other breeds
We're glad this video was helpful. Pomskys are not for everybody. But if you want to keep watching Pomsky puppy videos, we have published a new one ua-cam.com/video/XzvIkbjSqRs/v-deo.html since publishing this video and we have a couple more on the way 😉.
Jennifer N. May I recommend a Boston Terrier for your consideration? I’ve had 2 & I can’t imagine my life without one now. They are Very Intelligent, Very Trainable & the Perfect Size for any home. They do have a lot of energy especially as Puppies but either a nice back yard or two or three short walks & spending some play time with them is enough for them. Of course plenty of toys, especially balls, to keep them entertained. Boston’s love to nap & are happiest curled up with you on the couch or the bed. And I do recommend starting them out on puppy pads cause it’s best not to take one out in the yard or around other dogs until All of their series of shots are complete & if you are gone for long periods their little bladders can’t hold the pee that long so Puppy Pads are great for that. Just a suggestion, hope you find your perfect Fur Baby soon. Good Luck. 🐕😀👍🏻♥️
I’ve always wanted a husky. Then in 2017 a old boss of mines told me about pomskies. I am still thinking about it and making sure I get a place that’s perfect for him or her. They are still the cutest and most fun pets to me.
We also wanted a Husky, but didn't want to deal with such a big dog. That's why we settled on a Pomsky instead. Even though they are smaller than a Husky, Pomskies are almost as crazy 🤪🤪🤪 and almost as much work 😈😈😈.
I'm looking for a dog most suitable for my roommate and ended up deciding on a Pomeranian, but then I saw Pomsky as an option with our potential breeder and decided might as wel save up a bit more for a Pomsky since we both like huskies but don't have the space for such a big dog. I'm glad I found this channel, helps prepare for the day we finally get one, most of my experience is with a stubborn jack Russel that I ended up learning tricks etc at an older age.
I really appreciate all the work you guys did with all the statistics! Spot on as far as nailing the Pomsky temperament/personality. I'm a Pomsky breeder down in Louisville KY and the questions you covered are often asked, and should be asked! :D
Thanks for the kind words. You are right that a lot of work went into making this video and we are thrilled that viewers enjoy watching it. We just asked ourselves all these questions a year ago and weren't fully satisfied with the answers that were out there.
Great video. I’m a past husky owner who was interested in a pomsky at some point, so this is a video that everyone should watch right before they consider getting a pomsky as a reminder of what they are getting into.
James and Laurent's World Travels Oh absolutely not. Now just isn’t a good time for me having a pet. Just working on too many things. I had my husky while going to medical school in Chicago. She went through puppy training class successfully, and there was a huge park where she could run around with other dogs across the street near Navy Pier. I’d let her pull me on my roller blades along Lake Michigan. But I was really busy and could not always give her the time she wanted. When I was stressed at exam time, she could sense it and would get diarrhea. I had to crate her during the day. My bed was too close to the crate and one day she managed to pull the corner of my $2000 hand painted duvet cover and duvet into her cage and chew a big chunk out of it. I used to keep a running list of “Things Koshka ate”, well chewed up. She was very sweet and a beautiful dog, but definitely a handful. I later got married and had a son, and got a residency in California. My husband did not want he and my son to join me that first year because he knew they’d never see me, and he didn’t want to take care of my cat and dog, so I had to give them up for adoption. Luckily, I found Koshka a wonderful family with children and a huge property where she could run around so it worked out. But I definitely don’t want to get another pet until I can give them the attention they deserve.
Haha. We had contacted a lot of other Pomsky owners - through the survey and offline - to make sure we weren't just describing our experience with Beedi but were talking about the entire breed 🤪.
I watched a video of yours over a year ago about pomskys when we were considering getting another dog. My teacup pomeranian passed in 2015 and was literally my shadow. Before her I owned a samoyed husky, my first baby. I loved both breeds so naturally I wanted to check out pomskys. I did my homework before deciding to get my now 1 year old Pomsky (Amy) You gave THE BEST advice and it really helped us train her. She is definitely high maintenance and acts like a husky. She is 22 pounds with a personality of a dog 10 times her size. Patience is a virtue with her because she is a very proud girl and she does much better with praise than being scolded for her no no's. We had to learn how to tell her that is not ok without damaging her pride because she is very mouthy and will tell me a thing or two when we disagree. Just a tone of voice that I use will stop her in her tracks and she will stop what she's doing (usually) .. They don't take well to being scolded loudly and will get very upset if I full out yell at her. Everything you told me to expect happened so it was really nice that you took the time to help others. They are a fairly new breed and not much is known about them. They definitely are not for everybody but she's perfect for us. We have a large fenced in back yard and she gets attention whenever she desires it from either my husband and I or my 20 year old twins. She is treated as an only child pretty much so she's extremely spoiled and thinks she the boss of all of us. Well she actually is. She's full of life and highly energetic. And I just can't say enough about her pride because if you even try to squash that it won't end well. They do not respond well to people with little patience. She is definitely the leader of our pack and prides herself on knowing she's protecting us. She doesn't like being protected per say because she believes she's protecting us and that gives her great joy. She has brought much happiness to this home. I didn't follow you guys when I watched your first video in 2019 and I've been kicking myself since. I'm so glad you ended up in my news feed somehow again. You really are dead on with everything you say about pomskys. I've wanted to thank you for so long but I couldn't remember your channel's name. So long overdue but thank you for taking the time to educate others on pomskys because they really are special dogs that are quite different from any dog I've ever had. You helped so much. 💚
Thanks a lot. Comments like yours mean a lot to us. A lot of work goes into making educational videos and we're glad people find them helpful. Stay tuned. We have a few travel videos coming up, but we'll have more Pomsky videos before the end of the year.
I am 70, and I need another dog. I have a medium sized yard, and there are parks, and friends yards who have dogs to visit. I know how to train, would live a smart dog, and I am home a LOT. I cant manage a big Lab or husky or GSD. 😊 How hard could a smallish Pomsky be?
im watching this even though i own 2 pomsky dogs lol. all of these are very accurate! my youngest pomsky looks and acts more like a husky. but my oldest one is literally all pomeranian with husky markings. wouldn’t trade them for the world.
This is great for my daughter and I. My daughter have adhd, that type of energy is to the roof. My daughter used to have an husky all white with blue eyes. Love to play outside everyday.
We have three. They love being a pack. They’re all age 2 and under, weigh between 15-30 lbs. All pups are trustworthy off-leash. They’re a little skeptical of other dogs but they know and love their parent breeds or rather any dog that looks like them. This video is great when talking about how much energy they have. We can run a mile and a half, visit the dog park, do a little training, escape grandpa and grandma’s yard in one day still NOT be tired. We wouldn’t change our little pack for the world 💙
Sometimes, we wonder if we should get a 2nd Pomsky in order for Beedi to be part of a (small) pack. But she is already so much work on her own 😈😈😈 that we can't picture ourselves taking care of a 2nd one 🤒🤒🤒.
Consider yourself lucky because Huskies, Pomskies, Malamutes, and the likes tend to be independent and are not known to be particularly affectionate breeds.
I have a pomsky and agree with almost everything on here, she sheds quite a bit, but if you brush them regularly it helps keep it down, mines never barks and is extremely brave around other dogs, she also never digs but when she was a puppy she loved chewing on my cell phone chargers and carpet, (only when i wasn't home). All in all shes a great dog and gets ton of attention cuz of how cute she is especially from the ladies :-)
My neighbor has a Pomsky and she is my Shiba inu dog Jimmy's best friend because they are similar in size and have similar play style. Both are beautiful dogs but can be challenge to train. Great information in this video👍
This is pretty much spot on. My pomski Jax is the bigger version, about 40 lbs. I get a lot of oh and awes when people see him. They usually think he's a puppy but he is 3 now. Most people never heard of a pomski. His markings aren't so perfect on his face, his eye's are blue, black and white with a brown on back of legs and his back reaches to my knees. He's so cute 🐶
Wow 😯 great 👍 video you just described exactly what having a Pomsky is really like. I’m familiar with Pomeranian’s because I had one for 12 1/2 years and I was so sad when he passed away that I actually still think about him a lot. Last August I decided to rescue a dog & decided to try the local animal shelter. I asked for a Pomeranian but, they had none and they said they had a Pomsky. I really didn’t know what a Pomsky was but, I must say I know that the description you gave is exactly the way my Pomsky behaves. He’s a digger, full of energy, a bit destructive so I have to be watching him quite a bit and he’s an escape artist so I use a lease and a harness because he tries to slip out of the harness. He’s got loads of energy and he loves to run and play. He’s very affectionate 🤗 and needs lots of attention from me all the time. He’s looking like a Pomeranian body with husky traits. I’m so happy I got him because he’s very loyal to me. The shelter people said that my Pomsky needed a home without kids. My kids are grown so he’s fine with me. He’s very smart but he’s so stubborn. I would say people who want a Pomsky need to be ready to give lots of care and attention as they crave this. My Pomsky is an excellent watch dog he’s really guarding the house but, I’m not sure he would defend me as like you said they’re very friendly. Once again great video and I’ve decided to subscribe and am looking forward to more videos on Pomsky’s. Stay well guys and God bless. This video is a thumbs up 👍
Thanks for the kind words. As you might expect, a lot of work went into this video and we're so glad that viewers are enjoying it. We are working on more Pomsky videos as we speak and hope to have the next one ready early next week.
James and Laurent's World Travels thanks guys I’m really looking forward to it I’ll definitely be on the look out. Enjoy your night. Greetings and blessings from New York City the big Apple 🍎 stay well and safe!
i’m so glad i got a pomsky! yes, they LOVE attention and always want to play but i personally love that! i’ve trained mine to be some what independent so that he isn’t always begging to play 24/7 even though there is nothing wrong with that! great video 💜
Such an accurate video!! I couldn't find anything this good and detailed before I got my girl Yuna, no regrets in getting her, but there were definitely some surprises for me! This covers everything really well and is so comparable to Yuna too haha.
Thanks for the compliment. Comments like yours mean the world to us. A lot of work goes into our videos and this one was no exception. We're glad viewers enjoy them😘.
This was very informative. We have been looking to get a Pomeranian and I was debating on getting the ones that looked like husky (now I know it's called pomskies) but now I realize that a pure bred Pom is probably better. I just love those blue eyes though LoL. Thanks for all the information
I am a Pomsky owner myself. Her name is Tiara and she's 1 yr and 2 months old now. I definitely agree on everything said here. Tiara is an F1b generation Pomsky, meaning she's 75 percent husky and 25 percent pom. She's 48 pounds and seem to stop growing after a year. She sheds all the time lol. Great info !
We're glad you enjoyed the video. As you might expect, a lot of work went into it. 48 pounds is huge for a female Pomsky. It is actually good size for a female Husky. We're sure she sheds a bit, haha.
James and Laurent's World Travels yep! All day everyday lol. Her DNA test shows her great grandparents were the actual first generation. Full Pomeranian and full husky. After that, it’s pomsky to pomsky. She’s always mistaken as a Samoyed too because she’s all cream white in color. No mask at all. Feel free to check her out on IG as @pomskytiara and Facebook Keeping Up With Tiara
Looks are deceiving :). Make sure you watch tons of puppy training videos over the next three weeks. If you want to learn more about Pomskies, we have many more Pomsky videos on our channel :).
I love my new pomsky named her River, basically because the first day I had she dove into a wading pool. She lets me know she wants to play in the water. So is easy to train, but she makes me reinforce it daily. She was potty trained in 2 days, learned fetch, and tug of War in 2 days and demands to play daily. Until a couple days ago she was good off leash but a car drove passed and she chased it so now she has a 20 foot lead. One a her favorite toys are water bottles or milk jug. She sleeps in day but loves playing when it cools. She starts puppy school next week for 10 days then home for 14 days and back to school for 2 to 3 weeks. I decided to have her trained at a working ranch. They will do all obeisance training along with kayaking and water safety then the last thing will be a fun thing example agility, dock diving, etc. She already loves its. She is 16 weeks and loves learning. I have had several huskies in the past and are great dogs, but they do need training or they are destructive. River only dogs holes first 2 days after that I sprinkled black paper and she stopped she didn't like the sneezing. So enjoy your pomsky, have patience, and give alot of play time they will be grate
Make sure you take a lot of pictures/videos while she is still a puppy. In 2 months, your Pomsky will have most of its adult features and it will be too late.
Thanks. Comments like yours mean a lot to us. A lot of work went into this video, collecting survey responses from many different other owners, etc. We're glad you liked it 😘.
Hey you guys, Love your videos. I also have a 10 month old pomsky and they are different from what people think so thank you for educating. Keep going ! 😊❣️greets From Germany 🇩🇪
Thanks for the kind words. As you might imagine, a lot of work went into making this video and we're glad people are enjoying it. We have a few more Pomsky videos in the works and the next one should be aout later this week.
You're very welcome. If you are wondering what adult Pomskies look like, we have another video about that topic specifically: ua-cam.com/video/mtsWPFgIt1g/v-deo.html. We also have several other Pomsky videos about other topics.
Perfect description of having a Pomsky!!! Wish I saw it before we got two so we’d be better prepared 😂😂😂Great dogs, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks guys!!!
Thank you both so much for posting such an informative (and cute!) video. I was in the early stages of researching Pomskies. I’ve had Tibetan Spaniels for years and years and have a 4 year old Tibbie now. Long story short - after watching your video, I don’t think a Pomskie is for me. They are adorable and brilliant little wonders. But though I am active, I am not as active as a Pomsky needs. 🤣 And a Pomsky with a Tibbie might succeed in fortifying our yard and building a moat. 😉 I’ll just have to continue to admire them onscreen. Best to you both!
This is such an accurate video. Lyra my 8 month old Pompsky - she is beyond intelligent. She is a sassy, demanding, thief - an absolute gem. Though we think the breeder wasn't very good to her - she growls, hides and runs away from strangers... though we know she is a people person because of the way she acts with myself and my old man.
I live in an apartment in Sarasota, Florida and one of my friends introduced me to this breed. I was ecstatic and I'm planning on getting one! Specifically a Blue Merle Pomsky. I live with my best friend and she owns a Maine Coon. I've previously owned a Pomeranian cross-breed before (Dameranian), but I was wondering if Pomskies are really suited for the apartment life considering their personalities differ from pup to pup also, is it necessary to have a backyard or can I just take them out for walks in the park and the beach?
If you can play with them inside the apartment and you have a park where you can take them out frequently, then no reason why you couldn't. But a Pomsky will be a lot more active than a pure breed Pom.
It’s definitely easier with a yard for them to play and run in but if you like going on walks or have a park around they will be happy. My Pomsky gets scared going on walks longer than a few houses away so having a yard is a must for him but that’s not typical for the breed, most pomskies love going on walks.
We rescued our Pomsky, and didn't know what we had. Smart, strong-willed, demanding are correct. For the first several months, she was distructive! It's about a year, and she has calmed down a lot. We live in Florida, and it is very hot right now. In the day sleepy, and at night, she is ready to go anywhere! She is funny, sweet, and highly entertaining!!! We are so in love with her!!! We did the DNA test, and she is 58% Husky, and 42% Pommerian. She will be 3 yrs. soon. She is beautiful white with, Blue and blue-brown eyes. She has a few Pandemic pounds, and is around 25lbs. We are taking longer walks, and giving a lot less treats. Your video was great! Tell people when you get a dog it is for life! What about other pets, like cats? Mine just wants to chase the cat. We dog sat for a female Chiweenie, and I thought that my dog would try to crush her. It was a chill, lap dog, and she thought it was a toy. She loves Male dogs, and plays kind of rough. Are these normal traits? Thanks again!
We're glad you enjoyed the video. Beedi loves to play with bigger dogs (up to a point, of course). She doesn't seem to care whether they are males or females. She has only seen cats a handful of times and is still trying to figure out what they are 🤣😂🤣.
@@JamesandLaurent Oddly enough. We met a white Husky, and she plays rougher than Yuki. The Husky caught my dog with her paw. Now when we see the Husky, my dog just submits belly up. My dog just likes to play chase with all the dogs. She gets away with a lot, I think it's good when another dog puts her in her place. Dogs train other dogs better than me can.
Thank you for posting this video! I've been eyeing over Pomskies for several years now and I truly appreciated your video, it was very insightful highlighting both the positives and negatives of owning one. Merci
Thanks for the comment. Since Pomskies are a new breed, there is not a lot of information available about them. As a result, a lot of people end up getting one just because of the cute looks, without realizing that they are very demanding dogs :).
My wife and I adore our Pomsky. The breeder we got her from works on making them more like mini huskies which our dog is for sure. Sophie our mini husky is 1.5 years old. We have had her since she was 10 weeks old. We love her so much that we are getting another mini husky.
Watched your video, and while I have never had a Pomsky, I had a Pomerian growing up, for over 16 years. She was from an older larger Pomerian breed and weighed in at 16-20 pounds she liked her treats a little to much and was spoiled. A lot of the same traits you have said are Husky like are also found in Pomerians smart, likes to dig, sometimes destructive (we always had to watch her around waste baskets), she also loved the snow, & was an escape artist. In the summer we trimmed her long hair coat down to deal with the heat. Anyways it seems the two breeds have more traits in common then people realize.
I have a female Pomsky that looks exactly like a miniature Siberian husky with very blue eyes. She is the boss and shows minimal traits of the Pomeranian I had for 15 years. She is a TALKER. As far as her Pomeranian trait she is my shadow and will not run off like Huskies do. She gets a bit nervous at loud sounds (fireworks and the garbage truck,. etc) or if people talk too loud she will go hide. We're Irish so we're a loud family. My Pomeranian used to do circles when excited and was nicknamed "left turn" so she also does that too. The Husky part is demanding, mouthy, and is a high maintenance child. Me, my husband and 21 year old twins dote on her and she will guard the couch or our beds if we're on it and will not let our cats up because she is jealous and bossy and doesn't care one bit to show it. She starts her gumbly growl as soon as she sees our kitties coming to be by us. She's all talk. She has a lot of pride. I'd say 15% Pomeranian and 85% Husky traits. 100% sass!
Omg BT is perfect! If there would be a way to guaruntee how to mix breeds and what breed would be the dominant gene she would be perfect for me! She looks like a lil husky...Congrats!
Haha, no doubt that the dominant gene is Husky for her 😈😈😈. A reputable breeder should be able to tell you which puppies in the litter will be more Husky or more Pomeranian. BTW it is Beedi (i.e.BD), not BT. Beedi is short for Bernadette. Her litter was named after the Big Bang Theory, but we thought Bernadette was too long 😜.
If you want a tiny dog with a lot of energy, you might consider a Papillon. They are wicked smart, fast, energetic and have those elegant butterfly ears. Just a suggestion.
@@JamesandLaurent His "legal" name is White Lighting, but we call him Bolt due to his similarity to the dog in the Disney movie. He is 27ish pounds and solid white with blue eyes! 💙
i love this video! it made me realize how truly strange my pomsky is, lol. almost none of the statistics matches my opinion her my baby, she’s not fond of children, i take her off leash where i can because she has amazing recall at 5 months, she’s never destructive etc. maybe she’s another dog in a pomsky suit
I love pomskies! I have two, a boy and a girl. The boy is 70% Pomeranian and 30% Husky and the lady is 50/50. They are the best little companions ever! So smart and cuddly.
You are right on the money about Pomskys. I have a pomsky poodle and she has so much more husky in her personality than anything. Her mother looked like a fox and my Honey looks like a bear. Boy can she be a bossy little girl.
Ahsoka is 8mnts and you nailed it lol. She is my Velcro puppy. She doesn't like it when my husband gives me hugs and kisses. She wants to join in. She's a mommies girl for sure. I wouldn't trade her for the world.
Hi, I might get a pomsky but am a first time dog owner. Unsure of stubbornness or how active a dog can really get. Shedding isn't much of a problem... more info would help a lot!
LOVE MY POMSKY ECHO !!!! Some of video is my Echo she doesn't get into trouble when home alone or dig up the yard took time & work but I was able to train Echo to stay in her yard...
I am from Chicago too. Got my pomski puppy in october so he LOVED the snow and I was freezing with those long walks he wanted. I am also reaching about 20k steps a day with him. But that was a goal for me. He does NOT shed at all yet. Loves other dogs so I am looking to maybe adopt another one
My pomsky dna showed 50% husky and 50% Pomeranian. Also I would love for you to feature my puppy. He’s so cute and his personality is so awesome. He’s funny, howls at the tv haha
Came here after it was recommended and I’m just stunned! It’s super informative and quite cute honestly. I kept getting distracted but this is an amazing video. I’ll definitely think on it more about adopting one. Though I do have a question, are they okay with other types of animals? Like rodents (obviously not letting them roam free) in their cage or cats?
Beed is very social with other dogs. She hasn't really met cats. However, she hates rodents. She has a very strong hunter instinct. We actually made a video about it :)
@@JamesandLaurent I'd defiantly be interested to know more about Pomskies and cats as well - any insights from Beed's siblings or cousin, et al? Any tips on maybe training them play nice with the felines? Or would their hunter instinct be too strong & it not end well? Saw one of the "local" shelters has a 7month pup, would be nice to have a dog again (been some 20 years now)... I'm a little concerned how she'd likely get along with the cats who currently occupy my house.... Obviously it'll depend on the individual dog & cats (the lab I had last didn't mind cats & as long as she didn't get too close the cats I had then didn't mind her too much either)... but having some heads up would be nice. Is it something worth trying or would I be better off remaining dogless (or maybe try a different breed)...
I had to laugh many times watching this. Our Cabo is currently sleeping by me on the couch. This is after I made him come back inside. He was sleeping in his favorite spot in the sun. I'm convinced sometimes that we got a cat instead of a Pomsky. He'd much rather go for a car ride( hanging out the window) then go for a walk. He does have burst of energy but tires out quickly and needs another nap. He's healthy and happy. He's 39 pds and spoiled rotten. He freaked us out sleeping at first as his legs were going in every direction. We call it broken puppy position.
Thanks I had Pomeranian for over 8years. Last month the neighbors Pitbull killed. It was Horrible N awful,he never was like that when we would see him outside. Ever time I walk Sheldon they would play for a few minutes N then we would go home. That day it happen he was different to Sheldon N me. I want the same dog or the Pomsky. Because the eyes reminds me of my dog,the how they play N love to cuddle with all there fur too. Thank you for sharing your Videos It helps a lot💞
We are so sorry to hear that. What an awful experience :(. Although they look the same, Pomskies are a lot less cuddly than Pomeranians, unless they are 3/4 Pomeranian.
Sorry, we don't pretend to be dog trainers. In case you are not already familiar with these two channels, we recommend you watch 1) Zac George, who has great educational videos about puppy training and 2) Sixty Formula, which is a Husky channel and we have found Husky tips to be 100% relevant for Pomskies.
Not that we're aware of. Beedi has two cousins from the same breeder who live in our neighborhood and we informally meet them from time to time. She also has doggy friends, who are not Pomskies, that she likes to play with. But let us know if you ever find out.
Alex, we just found out about a Pomsky meet-up this coming Sunday at 2pm at Jackson Bark (behind the museum of science and industry). Details below: www.meetup.com/Chicago-Dogs-Meetup-Group/events/272949400/
Our Pomsky will be 5 in November. He’s 40 lbs and goofy demanding smart and one of the most difficult dogs I have ever had the pleasure of owning. He is also the best dog I have ever owned. No digging but only because we trained him early. He talks like a husky has near perfect clover. Not for the faint of heart..or first time owners.
I was going to get one soon... I’m already talking to a breeder. But it’s my very very first dog ever. You really think a different dog might be better?
This video is definitely a public service for those who want a pomsky. 👏 I want to respond to your remark that Pomeranians are often scared of intimidated by large dogs. Considering their size, that makes sense but it's not true. I've had three Poms and not one of them ever backed down from a larger dog. It's a Pomeranian trait; they have no idea how small they are. A Pomeranian owner needs to be aware of this character trait for the protection of their dog.
Thanks for the clarification. We've never had a full Pomeranian, but our previous dog Maya was also half Pomeranian. And Maya was a lot more Pomeranian-like than Beedi and definitely more 'yappy'.
The responses to our survey of Pomsky owners were crystal clear on that point: They are diggers 😱😱😱. But to be fair, because Pomskies are a newer breed, most Pomskies tend to be young and respondents to our survey mostly had puppies or Pomskies less than 3 years old. Digging is something that should at least go down over time if not completely disappear.
I love my Pomsky Cocoa he was 2 in Dec he is about 30 lbs definitely Husky face but Pomeranian fur. I can see both the Pom and Husky we had a Pom and my daughter has a Husky so we are a familiar with the personality traits of each.
Haha. Google watches your every move and they know you're looking for a Pomsky 🧐🧐🧐. If you seriously are, we highly recommend Beedi's breeder Oxsana Perfect Pomsky 👍👍👍.
Because Pomskies have to be artificially inseminated (if they're f1), they tend to be expensive. At a reputable breeder, they often cost $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the color. Blue-eyed ones tend to be more epxensive. But because a lot of Pomskies end up in shelters, when uninformed owners realize how active they are, you might be lucky and find one in a shelter.
i had a husky she was the best dog very well behaved she passed 4 years ago alot of training went into owning her so i know all about the breed with that said im looking into pomsky i figured if i can train a husky this should be easy thank you for the post
My wifes pomsky is 27 pounds def looks more like a husky and is active but she also loves to curl up with us for hours she's great with my kids but other people outside our family she normally doesn't let them touch her but she's 4 now truly a great member of our family
They do become more lovy dovy as they get older. Most Pomskies are young, because it is a new breed, and respondents to our survey mostly had young dogs and puppies.
I love this great advice!!! I love my pomsky so much he’s my best buddy!!! The only difference to your advice is I’m able to leave my dog at home by itself without being in a cage which is great but I’m skis are likely to tear up stuffed animals and toys so if you have children make sure Toys are up and out of the way!!!
Hi guys! I saw in the comments that you are looking for other Pomsky pictures / videos. My Pomsky is female and her name is Mya. She is 8 months old. Mya is an F1 Pomsky. Dad was 7 lbs. And mom was 40 lbs. She is currently 15 lbs. I can send pictures or videos anytime.
If you want to learn more about Pomskies, we believe we have the most educational Pomsky content on UA-cam. You can watch our other Pomsky videos in our Pomsky playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLCQCXQqQUvKB2rM5gPg2ynwxK17JnbCvX.html

I want to learn more about pomskies
Any way you can do other breeds besudes Pomskys and Shibas? Your videos are thorough and realistic. Really excellent.
I’m interested owning a pomsky with a blue eyes or light colored eyes. Can you share with me some sites? Thank you
it's nice to meet both of you and thanks a LOT for the information seriously
Pomsky - “I understand what you want me to do, but you’re asking me to go against my DNA.”
And her DNA is very strong 😁😁😁.
"I know what you want me to do momma, but I don't want to, so I'm not going to."
That's too funny when I was given one, found out it was a hybrid, I wouldn't give her up, I had a dream of rescuing a pup that looked like this, no clue, thought she was ADORABLE! Her name is Dora 🤣🤣🤣
@@DeborahLong7777 Someone gave you a Pomsky?
@@FishesAndLoaves997 yes ma'am. That is what her papers say. Told me it was a Pomeranian. I had a dream about this dog, saying how adorable she is, her name was Dora ! How cool is that? What a bundle of joy and energy lol. Jesus bless you 🕊
I wish I had seen this video before I got my pomsky. But I wouldn't trade him for the world. It is very true that he is always hyper/energetic, and EVERYONE/THING is his friend. He does the 2 leg hop/walk when he is excited.
These all seem to be recurring themes among Pomskies :).
Mine too! I love it. I would never get another breed he’s perfect but to be better informed Before I got him would’ve been great. His Instagram is TruBlu.Pomsky
I know alot about pomskys and I'm under 10 but you taught me atleast 5 new facts
I have a dead fish.
Haha, we've had many of those in the past. Please film it. It might be useful footage for a future video, in the event we expand our channel into other directions 🤭🤥🤭.
@@JamesandLaurent ok I will soon
Maybe
Haha. Keep us posted :).
When yall started talking about weird sleeping positions, I looked over at my pomsky and sure enough he's being a weirdo as usual 😁
Haha. We have another video called '5 things Pomskies do' and there's a lot more weird sleeping positions in that one :).
@@JamesandLaurent I want one please
Yup definitely, that’s husky’s too tho
How bad is the shedding? My mom wants to get me one for my first dog but I’m leaning towards a different breed.. are they worth it? Can they be trained? I’m just really scared. And I don’t want hair everywhere on top of behavior problems
😂
Best Pomsky video I've seen! Thank you!!! Helped me understand a little more about my little Pomsky!
We're glad we could help. The survey results also helped us understand Beedi better. Haha.
Another simila breed that may work better for you is the Alaskan Klee Kai
look at finnish lapphunds, there pretty big but basicaly couch potatos, super calm and friendly
Look into MinPins. I had one for 14 years. She was the best.
Good Luck. 🐕😀👍🏻♥️
Looking at this as a 16yr old, cant wait to get one when i get myself a house
We hope you do some day 🤭🤭🤭.
Same
Same but I’m 13
I'm 18 and want one as well
I’ve always wanted a husky.
Haha, we hope you're not having second thoughts after watching our video 🤪🤪🤪.
@@canwegonowhereanyfaster2958 Dog named Koshka?😼 How cute!!
So accurate! I felt like you were perfectly describing our pomsky! So much energy, shedding and "talking" back.
Haha, Beedi is more like your youngest one :).
This is great for my daughter and I. My daughter have adhd, that type of energy is to the roof. My daughter used to have an husky all white with blue eyes. Love to play outside everyday.
Most Pomskies love to play outside, just like Huskies do.
Mine is 29 lb male. Standard coat perfect husky markings. He is extremely loyal and actually does prefer cuddling on the couch.
Consider yourself lucky because Huskies, Pomskies, Malamutes, and the likes tend to be independent and are not known to be particularly affectionate breeds.
We had a husky and a Pomsky. It was always so funny to watch them play together.
Interesting. We would think one would easily over power the other :).
Haha, we had to replace our cable box because Beedi shewed on the cable when she was a puppy 😈😈😈.
Super accurate description of my pomsky!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣💞 I love her so much but man is she sometimes stubborn!
Haha, welcome to the Pomsky club :)
I got a Pomsky now about a little of a month and this video is very accurate. Ty for sharing and your channel
Thanks for watching! We have plenty of other Pomsky videos :)
They're all so cuuute! 😍 Thanks for the educational video, it was very informative 👍
Glad you liked it!! Stay safe 😍.
My neighbor has a Pomsky and she is my Shiba inu dog Jimmy's best friend because they are similar in size and have similar play style. Both are beautiful dogs but can be challenge to train. Great information in this video👍
We have two shiba inu's in our neighborhood, but they're older and not as playful as Beedi :).
We're sure Jax is cute. We've never heard of a Pomsky who wasn't cute 🙂. Thanks for the compliment 🥰.
Never heard of a pomsky until yesterday but now I MUST HAVE ONE!!!!!!!
Do your research and watch our other Pomsky videos before you make any decision. They are not the right dog for everybody.
Pomsky owner here and this was so accurate! Thank you for making this video
Our pleasure! We have several more Pomsky videos and even more on the way :).
i’m so glad i got a pomsky! yes, they LOVE attention and always want to play but i personally love that! i’ve trained mine to be some what independent so that he isn’t always begging to play 24/7 even though there is nothing wrong with that! great video 💜
side note: my pomsky is way more husky like! from looks to actions! he even sounds like a husky and LOVES to talk! but he loves to cuddle like a pom!
That's the uniqueness of Pomskies. You get the best of both breeds 😇 (and the worst of both breeds too 😈).
Pomeranians can be a bit yappy at times, but they are a lot easier to handle than pomskies :).
My Pomsky boy is 5 months old and he lives up to most of these traits but he’s a mummy’s boy and does love a good cuddle x
We're glad to hear that. He must have some Pom in him 😀.
Lots of great information. Too active for this old lady, but I enjoy watching yours.
Haha. We would be among the 90% who wouldn't recommend a Pomsky for an elderly person.
Thank you for your HONEST videos 👍🏻
So nice of you. We're glad you find them useful :)
I have a 8 month pomsky and all the info is 100% correct I watch you every time I see your videos. My Cassie says hello to your little girl
Beedi says hello back :). We hope to release new videos in May.
Beedi is already subscribed to Tiara's Instagram.
I’m getting a pomsky in three weeks. And he’s really handsome.
I've watched many pomsky videos, most on puppies. Your video is the MOST helpful. Great job.
Thanks. Comments like yours mean a lot to us. A lot of work went into this video, collecting survey responses from many different other owners, etc. We're glad you liked it 😘.

Perfect description of having a Pomsky!!! Wish I saw it before we got two so we’d be better prepared 😂😂😂Great dogs, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks guys!!!
You are so kind. We have many more videos about Pomskies already published and many more to come :).
Great to hear. If it's not the right breed for you, then don't get one. They are not for everybody 😉😉😉.
Thanks. We hope Lyra gets better with strangers. We love having social dog.
As a Pomsky owner I can say Terrific Video!
Thanks. We appreciate it. As you might imagine, a lot of work went into this video 🥵🥵🥵.
Congratulatios, this is an amazing video, you are saving puppy lifes!!!!
Thank you so much! Based on the comments of people who were considering getting a Pomsky and changed their mind after watching our video, we may have.
@@JamesandLaurent Thanks!
Haha, Beedi just wants to play with other dogs and will do whatever it takes to become friends.
This video taught me more about pomskies and I'm planning in adoptting 1
Thanks. We have many more Pomsky videos if you want to learn more.
Great video! I love it 😍
Haha! As you know, a lot of work went into this video. We're glad people are enjoying it 😍.
My wife and I adore our Pomsky. The breeder we got her from works on making them more like mini huskies which our dog is for sure. Sophie our mini husky is 1.5 years old. We have had her since she was 10 weeks old. We love her so much that we are getting another mini husky.
Haha, we've been wondering about getting a companion for Beedi 🦊🦊, but at the moment, she's all we can handle 😈😈😈.
Obsessed with you guys' channel since I got my merle pomsky Mushu! Bien sure l'element français ça aide aussi
Thanks so much We're glad you enjoy our videos. We try to provide Pomsky content we wish had existed when we were researching the breed.
Our previous dog was half Pomeranian half American Eskimo. She had some similar traits but was very different overall.
I also wonder if what I noticed in my Pomeranian was because she was the larger size Pomeranian & not the Toy variety?
100% sass!
Haha. Sounds like a Pomsky 😁😁😁.
@@JamesandLaurent Oh really that is helpfull thanks for replying. Good to know. Lol sorry about that, thats what the captions wrote it as. Thats cute!
Escaping, digging and stubbornness! I can’t wait!!!
Yup, just like a Husky.
Thank you fellas. Great video. We love our Pomsky.
Us too!
A tiny dog that can match my energy 🥺 I’m hoping to get one soon thanks
Haha. Be careful what you wish for 😉.
If you want a tiny dog with a lot of energy, you might consider a Papillon. They are wicked smart, fast, energetic and have those elegant butterfly ears. Just a suggestion.
Me researching about Pomsky for a future decision leads me here and getting Instagram accounts to follow and see more Pomskies. Double win! 💜💜
Haha, no shortage of Pomskies with an Instagram. Which one was your favorite?
Perfectly describes my pomsky! Love the video. ❤
We're so glad you enjoyed this video! Most Pomskies have similar traits. How old is your Pomsky? Boy, girl? How big? What color?
@@JamesandLaurent His "legal" name is White Lighting, but we call him Bolt due to his similarity to the dog in the Disney movie. He is 27ish pounds and solid white with blue eyes! 💙
i love this video! it made me realize how truly strange my pomsky is, lol. almost none of the statistics matches my opinion her my baby, she’s not fond of children, i take her off leash where i can because she has amazing recall at 5 months, she’s never destructive etc. maybe she’s another dog in a pomsky suit
Oh wow! You don't hear that very often. Lucky you :). That being said, every Pomsky is so different from every other Pomsky.
I love pomskies! I have two, a boy and a girl. The boy is 70% Pomeranian and 30% Husky and the lady is 50/50. They are the best little companions ever! So smart and cuddly.
😍
🥰
You are right on the money about Pomskys. I have a pomsky poodle and she has so much more husky in her personality than anything. Her mother looked like a fox and my Honey looks like a bear. Boy can she be a bossy little girl.
Haha, welcome to the club 😈😈😈.
Thanks this video helped me realize I was not fit to own a pomsky and to search for another dog breed however they're just so darn fluffy
You're so welcome! Pomskies are not for everybody. We're glad we could help.
Omg this video is hysterical!!! Definitely did make me laugh as well as be more thoughtful as to investing in a pomsky! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it. We have several other Pomsky videos if you still want to learn more about them :).
Ahsoka is 8mnts and you nailed it lol. She is my Velcro puppy. She doesn't like it when my husband gives me hugs and kisses. She wants to join in. She's a mommies girl for sure. I wouldn't trade her for the world.
Our previous dog would do the same when we got too close to each other without her being involved 😉.
Very cute! Here's hoping we can all travel again soon! 😘🤗❤🧡💛💚💙💜
We hope so too! Clearly a self-quarantine video :).
Dammit. Y'all are sooo informative. Also funny
Thanks and thanks.
Thank you so much! Best video to explain every query on these gorgeous babies! We were so sold on finding one..sadly I think it's too much
Glad it was helpful! Pomskies are not for everyone.
Hi, I might get a pomsky but am a first time dog owner. Unsure of stubbornness or how active a dog can really get. Shedding isn't much of a problem... more info would help a lot!
Best of luck! Pomsky puppies require constant walks and play. They start calming down when they turn 1 1/2 or 2-years old.
LOVE MY POMSKY ECHO !!!! Some of video is my Echo she doesn't get into trouble when home alone or dig up the yard took time & work but I was able to train Echo to stay in her yard...
Good job! We're getting there... little by little.
I have a brown and white Pomsky named Bebe (!) and this is the most accurate video I have seen about the breed. :)
Thanks. We tried hard 😋.
We've been wondering if a 2nd dog would be a lot more work or not. But we don't want to take our chances right now 😲😲😲.
Described my girl accurately. Best girl in the world!
That 's not possible, Beedi is the best girl in the world 😇😇😇 (except when she's not 😈😈😈).
Thank you so much for making this video! This was really informative and super helpful in finding the right dog for our energetic family :)
Glad it was helpful!
9:54 Yep, there's my Siberian Husky. He loved to chew on plastic two-liter bottles!
Haha
My pomsky dna showed 50% husky and 50% Pomeranian. Also I would love for you to feature my puppy. He’s so cute and his personality is so awesome. He’s funny, howls at the tv haha
We would be happy to. You can either DM us on Instagram our email us. Both can be found in the 'about' section of our channel 🤫.
I love my pomsky he is my best friend he loves when we come home to give him cuddles watch movies together and also love to play with other dogs 😍🥰
Yes, Pomskies are very social dogs and love playing with them :).
Very informative! Great video Thank you so much!😘
Glad you liked it!! We appreciate the praises 🤗🤗🤗.
thank you for the video ! what is a goood breeder in the nederlands ?
We can't help you with that unfortunately 😟
POMSKY PUPPIES WILL FOREVER BE MY FAVORITE BREED EVER
They are some of the cutest puppies there are :).
I’ve had my pomsky, Blue, for 2 years and he is exactly like everything mentioned. He’s a spoiled brat also though.
Most Pomskies probably are 😀😀😀.
Haha. Take a look at our other videos about the Top 5 funny things Pomskies do and tell us if he does any of these.
Although they look the same, Pomskies are a lot less cuddly than Pomeranians, unless they are 3/4 Pomeranian.
pretty accurate! do you guys have any advice for guarding issues with pomskies?
Sorry, we don't pretend to be dog trainers. In case you are not already familiar with these two channels, we recommend you watch 1) Zac George, who has great educational videos about puppy training and 2) Sixty Formula, which is a Husky channel and we have found Husky tips to be 100% relevant for Pomskies.
Love this video! Describes my 8 month old little boy to a T haha
We get that a lot. A lot of Pomskies share the same traits 😈😈😈.
Do you guys know if there’s any pomsky meet ups in Chicago? I’d love for my pomsky to play with other poms once this whole pandemic is over.
Details below:
www.meetup.com/Chicago-Dogs-Meetup-Group/events/272949400/
Our Pomsky will be 5 in November. He’s 40 lbs and goofy demanding smart and one of the most difficult dogs I have ever had the pleasure of owning. He is also the best dog I have ever owned. No digging but only because we trained him early. He talks like a husky has near perfect clover. Not for the faint of heart..or first time owners.
Not for the faint of heart indeed 😈😈😈.
Edit. -- ...scared of OR intimidated....
Thanks for the clarification. We've never had a full Pomeranian, but our previous dog Maya was also half Pomeranian. And Maya was a lot more Pomeranian-like than Beedi and definitely more 'yappy'.
its crazy because I have three pomskies and none of them are diggers, but they are definitely destructive. Most of the video seems accurate good job!
Thanks for sharing.
Pomskies seem like the perfect running buddy. They are also treasure hunters. Who can resist a doggy face like that 😱
Haha. Yes, Pomskies love to run. But be careful what you wish for 😈😈😈.
The irony that this is in my recommendation list because I was talking about getting a pompsky. 😶🤭
Haha. Google watches your every move and they know you're looking for a Pomsky 🧐🧐🧐. If you seriously are, we highly recommend Beedi's breeder Oxsana Perfect Pomsky 👍👍👍.
omg i am in love with this puppies great vid. but how mu8ch do they cost?!
Sorry to hear that. You're probably right. Most of the hard traits that Pomskies display come from their Husky side :).
Great that you're able to do that. We work from home most of the time, so Beedi is not used to being left alone for very long.
I had 2 Siberian Huskies, I would certainly have no problems with a Pomsky !! ;)
Haha. We're sure your Huskies trained you well :)
@@JamesandLaurent Oh no ! I have raised my huskies so that I could let them run free! My huskies even lived with cats ! ;)
Wow! You are good!
Great! Please shoot us an email or DM us on Instagram. Both can be found in the 'about' section of our channel :).
