This fall has been so breathtaking! Again, a beautiful illustration of Colorado. You have inspired me so much and I’ve learned a lot about Plein Air and painting wildlife. Thank you!
Definitely looks like Maroon Bells, which is practically in my backyard yet I haven't been there in at least 8 years. I guess they require you to take a shuttle now at specific times. I'll have to look it up and get there in the fall next year. Beautiful painting!
This is fantastic! I would love to see more tutorials like this (process of turning a landscape photo into a simple watercolor painting). Can't wait to try it :)
Thanks Emily. I'd love more landscape tutorials and love this style. Do you ever use Chinese white? I see it's included in most Cotman pan sets. Thanks again.
I never do use Chinese white since it tends to just make a chalky mix with the other colors and isn’t opaque enough to serve as a true white. I’ll keep this in mind for more landscape tutorials. 🙂
Beautiful Emily. It’s a great tutorial.
I’m so glad!
We love Maroon Bells. We were there this summer. Hopefully I’m brave enough to follow your tutorial. Great watercolor tutorial! :)
Thanks, Odette!
Can't wait for a day off to do this!
