Henry, I love your videos. I tried the iron condor and it hit. I felt like I didn't see the money though. My account did not go up or down. I have three questions 1. Do I have to have enough money to buy those hundred shares if I get assigned? * that scares me to try this on stock like tesla. I don't have $30k to buy 100 shares. 2. You never show us how to close this strategy early to take the profit out. 3.How much money should I have in my buying power to do this? I really want to build my small portfolio. Thanks
Your account doesn't move because trading apps will keep some buying power, including the credit itself, as collateral against the loss, if your position should lose. If and when you close the position, the credit will be applied along with any gains you made.
Paper Trade! That way a person can gain confidence in them self by trial and error and not risk any real money. Trying to do it in your head with that fear factor... Practice on paper. Keep it simple too. Just one stock? Maybe two or three "faves"...
Hey Henry! Thanks for this video. So I don’t Qualify for spreads yet on Robinhood since I am a Level 2 trader. Is there another route I can take besides doing spreads
When trading the Iron Butterfly spread just make sure you watch volatility. On a stock like Tesla, the Volatility negates some of the premium from theta. He might just be using it as an example, but a butterfly spread is probably not a good idea on Tesla. The stock moves 3-5% in one day. Personally, I would do this trade on a lower volatility stock.
Everything is possible, it all depends on your consistency, efforts and discipline 1. Limit your spending/cut off retail therapy 2. Put the extra cash towards investing in high yielding or steady investment. 3.Get a financial coach to guide through your investing goal. These might look simple but they require good amount of willpower, but through mentorship, I've been able to consistently grow my portfolio to $800K and I'm looking forward to retiring at 50 and I only wish I started up early.

So let say I take your Christmas tree strategy with NFLX ie sell 2 call options at 200 buy 1 at 190 and buy the other one at 210 and the stock sky rockets to 1000. Is my risk still the money I paid at the beginning?
Opened up this same strategy and it’s easy to open but not easy to close or sell i lost money trying to close these strategies on positions i have and contract will not close AT ALL!!!!!! Thanks for not explaining how hard it actually is to close these kinds of strategies!!!!!
I have not yet done this. However, from my limited skills, that Volume # at the bottom of your charting service will indicate a better probability of your order being filled. A high volume indicates more traders are interested in that particular stock. Have you been paper trading first? Trading on paper will develop confidence without risking real money. (Paper Trader.)
The one thing I didn't see was the options first screen where it ask if you think the market is going up, down, up and down, or about the same. Does this strategy work with just one, or any of them? Unfortunately, UA-cam doesn't allow pictures, so I can't share the screenprint to demonstrate what I mean.
@ Don Dotta choose credit because your entering the trade, after collecting your profit and you want to close the contract (sometimes) RH will ask the same question this time you choose debit to exit the contract. If my position looks good and I’m up 10+ wide on a spread I let my contract expire worthless so I won’t pay anything at 12:05 a.m RH will release your collateral
What platform is this. I am Looking to make a start into the market with option trading with low risk losses. I have heard of moomoo who does not use payment for order flow. But what is this program you use?
So to answer some questions on this trade. The whole trade will come out as ONE trade. TO CLOSE this trade you will have to SELL TO CLOSE on CALLS you Bought BUY TO CLOSE on the CALLS you SELL. But if your unsure how spreads work. I don't recommend this trade
Hi Henry, I sold cash secured put LCID $45 strike, i kept rolling over until now the price have gone significantly down to $22-23. My current expiration date is 3/18. Should i let it expire and get assigned the shares at a loss of $23 per share, then just sell covered calls after?
I love the info and it all makes sense in a way that I can understand. My problem is that my Robinhood account is at a level2. And that doesn't allow me to stack options into one another. If I try to 'Christmas Tree' or Iron Condor my strategy, I'm stopped because I am not at a level 3 or 4.

Hi Henry thanks for sharing your knowledge of option trading on youtube. I have one question on Butterfly strategy you discussed in this video. Hey Henry, I know that for smaller accounts it's "better" to do tight spreads (ie have each leg of the play, the sold call and bought call, close to each other in strike) but in reality it's better to do wider spreads b/c of slippage, better fills, quicker realization of profit, less fees, and "more" premium. Tight spreads can be dangerous and can end up with the max loss taking effect more often than wide spreads. Thoughts?
Ur right, ultimately it’s better to go wider if possible as your POP increases. But there is a cap on how far delta you should go. For example selling at .3 delta and buying at .05 delta is almost as good as buying at .1 delta. Tldr: wider spreads are better as they better replicate naked calls in the long run. But for smaller accounts tight spreads may be the way to go due to the lack of BP
Having trouble closing my 3 options trade. Did a call credit spread on $TSLA and was up $300 and cant close because the bid is $0.00 and ask is 8.93 lol idk what to do. Orders aren’t getting filled.
I've tried this but it's really tough to sell (close) for some reason. Gotta discount like crazy in order to close out the deal. Almost not worth it! It looks good on paper but I would never recommend anyone not even for an entertainment purposes like Cramer does often on CNBC.
This might be a dumb question. But how can you sell this TSLA call, wouldn’t you have to have the 100 shares of TSLA in order to even start this trade?
Depends …. If you are buying a call let’s say at a 60$ strike price then you would need to sell that call at the same strike price but if you are selling a call at 60$ strike price you would need to buy the call at the same strike price …. I recommend watching he’s video on how to close options , very very important
Great videos,I try the christmas tree stategy today by AAPL , $141/$140/$139 ,It cost me $10 but I do see the $140 peak price ,I didn't make any money instead I LOST $9 . I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT TRADE ?
One thing i notice about these vids is they are for beginners just starting out, but they overlook the fact that beginners just starting out (such as myself) cannot do these multiple leg options ( have to gain experience to raise your option level apparently?) they are restricted to a single leg...I can place the sell call option but then i don't have the option to conyinue with the buy call option as shown in this vid. Unless i am doing something wrong, i'm not sure. And most of the replies i see to comments / questions on here all seem to be asking to direct message for info on something else...or not applicable at all to the posters question/comment.
@@thomasaubin2174 you can look it up. There’s a setting you gotta turn on to let you have multiple leg options. And also try joining a group so that you’ll have people helping u. I’m planning on joining aristotle investment’s group or kellyohgee’s group. The internet is a tool my friend
I have a question.... when i try the Xmas tree strategy on Tesla and it reaches the strikes price, it doesnt show me that amount of money (lets say $950 for instance) so i close the option and i dont get that amount either... Anytime i am doing wrong???
So when do you actually expect the profit? I just ordered a Xmas tree order for NVDA. Top of the tree is $260 and the legs $455 & $465. It's been almost touching $260 several times, yet, I don't see the max profit 🤔. Anyone?
What is the collateral amount required to open this trade and also it would be an exceptional video if you showed us how to close the trade in the same video
Collateral is always around your max loss as long as you have a margin account and options level that allow you to trade spreads. Closing the trade is easy if you let a credit trade expire - you keep all the money. If you need to buy to close it it's pretty simple as well, you put in the mid point or the ask on the spread and it'll take the funds out of your account to close it
@ Kam Levesque Yes he replies to comments you will see his name highlighted in blue. All these other accounts are scammers using his profile pic. BE CAREFUL
Question, I need some input/feedback on this. Long Call Butterfly on TWTR? Exp 4/22 Risk $10 to make $440 (With 10 contracts at 0.01 a piece) If (big if) the position would get filled that is. Is the risk REALLY only $10 as stated on RH? And how would it look when you decide to sell? Would it show a bid/ask of something like 3.80 to 4.40?? (P.S. This is by no means a recommendation or financial advice and is being used as an example.)
So I’ve been watching a lot of your videos the last week or so, my question is after you collect your credit, how are you still growing your 60% profit with your AMZN call credit spread? Don’t you only make money from the credit you collect initially or am I missing something?
Sorry Henry, unlucky on that Amazon play but maybe it'll go back down before expiration if you haven't closed it yet. I think if anyone is doing it now, after the split announcement, they should do it at a higher strike (and further out expiraton) and make the play - the price should come back down and you could secure some nice premium for a low risk to reward
Good video. Its very understandable, but since I'm new on the scene, it's still a little confusing how to use the service I'm with. Which trade service is being used in the video ?
Great video again but on that last Call credit spread with Amazon, you never explained how you lose? Does the price need to go above our Call Strike to lose? Or do we lost because we have to sell our shares? Thank you for your time.
Yes if the Price of the underlying rises above the strike you lose 5x the amount you win which in my eyes makes this strategy only useful if you already have shares and are using it as a hedging tool
When I tried submitting it on Robin hood it ask me if I'm receiving a debit or credit. I put credit and it wouldn't submit, it kept saying that premium has to be less than my collateral, so I chose debit and it submit
Is the TSLA trade goal for price to go UP or DOWN? Robinhood is asking if this TSLA trade is a Credit or Debit. Same question when closing this trade. Thanks.
@@davidjas2378 Idk if I was paying attention cus I only remember one TSLA trade and it's a sideways trade. You want it to stay as close to 850 as possible with max loss outside of 840 and 860
I tried this last time and got scared because my account balance started going negative. I don't know if it's a glitch, since it says the max loss is $50. It was also hard to get out of, I kept trying to sell before expiration but it took many tries.
So There's 3 Things You Need To Know. 1st: You Need An Official Brokerage That Doesn't Have Hedges Betting Against You. 2nd: The Volatility Comes From You Trading On The Bid Ask Spread Of The Contracts As Opposed To You Actually Trading On The Stock. 3rd: Word, It's Called Christmas Tree Bc When It Does Get Filled, It Feels Like Christmas. Bonus: The Negative Balance Comes From The Sells Becoming Higher In Value Than The Buys. In Order For You To Be Profitable W| This Strategy Your Buys Will Always Need To Be Valued More Than Your Sells & Usually It's Best To Fill With A Time In Force For "Good Till Canceled" Which Depending On Brokerage, Could Be 30 - 90 Days For Your Order To Expire & Execute.
if you close the Christmas tree option when asked are you claiming a credit or paying a debit, which do you choose and why?

Hey Henry, I know that for smaller accounts it's "better" to do tight spreads (ie have each leg of the play, the sold call and bought call, close to each other in strike) but in reality it's better to do wider spreads b/c of slippage, better fills, quicker realization of profit, less fees, and "more" premium. Tight spreads can be dangerous and can end up with the max loss taking effect more often than wide spreads. Thoughts?
That could be true but we here in the be·gin·ning of this game. Still learning. Ones we like a pro like you sir we will be able to agree with you 💯
Wider spreads cost more to enter. Henry is attempting to provide strats for us poors
Hit me up right away got something new to share with you guys 🖕🖕💲💼💲💲💰💲
Ur right, ultimately it’s better to go wider if possible as your POP increases. But there is a cap on how far delta you should go. For example selling at .3 delta and buying at .05 delta is almost as good as buying at .1 delta.
Tldr: wider spreads are better as they better replicate naked calls in the long run. But for smaller accounts tight spreads may be the way to go due to the lack of BP

how much is just the discord?
Having trouble closing my 3 options trade. Did a call credit spread on $TSLA and was up $300 and cant close because the bid is $0.00 and ask is 8.93 lol idk what to do. Orders aren’t getting filled.
I've tried this but it's really tough to sell (close) for some reason. Gotta discount like crazy in order to close out the deal. Almost not worth it! It looks good on paper but I would never recommend anyone not even for an entertainment purposes like Cramer does often on CNBC.
So I’m not able to buy more than one option is it because my pro folio is low I tried to do this option but it won’t let me
This might be a dumb question.
I DON'T KNOW
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT TRADE ?
One thing i notice about these vids is they are for beginners just starting out, but they overlook the fact that beginners just starting out (such as myself) cannot do these multiple leg options ( have to gain experience to raise your option level apparently?) they are restricted to a single leg...I can place the sell call option but then i don't have the option to conyinue with the buy call option as shown in this vid. Unless i am doing something wrong, i'm not sure. And most of the replies i see to comments / questions on here all seem to be asking to direct message for info on something else...or not applicable at all to the posters question/comment.
@@user-hs5bi6ig9q my comment / question had nothing to do with crypto... these non applicable replies should be deleted by admin
Bro u could literally just cap ur way into getting multiple leg options
@@trillsam7726 lol.. not even sure what that means... I'm new to all this.. trying to March my way up this big learning curve
@@thomasaubin2174 you can look it up. There’s a setting you gotta turn on to let you have multiple leg options. And also try joining a group so that you’ll have people helping u. I’m planning on joining aristotle investment’s group or kellyohgee’s group. The internet is a tool my friend

Does anyone have a link for a video explaining this in more details ?

If you need to buy to close it it's pretty simple as well, you put in the mid point or the ask on the spread and it'll take the funds out of your account to close it
Thank you Henry great video dude 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

spent 48 dollars on 2 options calls and made 1550 because Elon bought Twitter I love options
The 2nd scenario you showed us , we will use it best for Bear Market ?
Question, I need some input/feedback on this.
Long Call Butterfly on TWTR? Exp 4/22
Risk $10 to make $440 (With 10 contracts at 0.01 a piece)
If (big if) the position would get filled that is.
Is the risk REALLY only $10 as stated on RH? And how would it look when you decide to sell? Would it show a bid/ask of something like 3.80 to 4.40??
(P.S. This is by no means a recommendation or financial advice and is being used as an example.)

If your max gain is 950 and max loss is 50, your probability of winning is roughly 5%. Do not take the market as an ATM.

So I’ve been watching a lot of your videos the last week or so, my question is after you collect your credit, how are you still growing your 60% profit with your AMZN call credit spread? Don’t you only make money from the credit you collect initially or am I missing something?
Henry how do we get in touch with you?

What is the name of that strategy on TSLA?

When I tried submitting it on Robin hood it ask me if I'm receiving a debit or credit. I put credit and it wouldn't submit, it kept saying that premium has to be less than my collateral, so I chose debit and it submit
Is the TSLA trade goal for price to go UP or DOWN? Robinhood is asking if this TSLA trade is a Credit or Debit. Same question when closing this trade. Thanks.
You are paying (debit) $53 for the trade and then when you close it your making (or crediting) the profit if its in the money.
Yes debit
@@jonmayer9826 Thank you. So buy as Debit and Close as Credit?
@@ryancoffey9910 The first TSLA trade demo is it a Bullish or Bearish Trade?
@@davidjas2378 Idk if I was paying attention cus I only remember one TSLA trade and it's a sideways trade. You want it to stay as close to 850 as possible with max loss outside of 840 and 860
New sub good content learning as I watch I know options but new to selling buying options.
I tried this last time and got scared because my account balance started going negative. I don't know if it's a glitch, since it says the max loss is $50. It was also hard to get out of, I kept trying to sell before expiration but it took many tries.
I had the same issue. I would try to sell and it would just sit there and then go negative.
So the negative balance is not really true? I am deep in the red!
I tried this butterfly strategy on robinhood but it’s impossible
For it to execute. It sounds great but if it never executes I don’t know
