    That bike works best between 10K and redline. It IS a 2000 model I had one just like it. The engine felt like an electric motor. just super smooth everywhere (granted I moved over to the 750 from a TL- S. When you got it on song there's nothing better. Mine had 126hp at the wheel with a full Arrow exhaust, K&N filter, and some ECU tuning. EBC HH pads and braided lines were transformative. Later I added a 19mm radial master cylinder (Brembo) and they became fantastic.

    Awesome that you are happy with it. I'd heard the new Rosso 4 tyres are pretty good, but not tried them yet as my Gixer has plenty of life left in the Michelin 2CTs

    my K13 750 was stolen, then i got a K12 1000. both are great bikes. but now the cops found the 750 (they only took it to sell the exhaust), so now i have to decide which to keep, but i like them both

    My 02 gsxr750 was a better bike than I was a rider. I lived across the street from work but it took me 2hrs to get home....I took the scenic route with lots of twisties, and a good rip on hwy26 back to the house.

    According to the decals it‘s a 2000 so actually a Y and not a K1
    Nice bike anyways, have fun!

    I just got this exact bike as my first real motorcycle (had a pit bike prior) a few weeks ago, what are your thoughts on a new rider on this bike?

  • @djkarashi85
    @djkarashi85 8 днів тому

    2000 is a "Y" designation , K1 is 2001.

    Very hard bike to find. You can grab 600cc all day. But the 750 or 1000cc are hard to find. I personally own a k1 600cc

    Let’s just take the Suzuki GSXR 600, 750 and the 1000. Have ridden and also raced all three I’ll give my impressions as simply as possible. The 750 is what I call in the Goldilocks zone. It has the lightness and handling of the 600 with much more torque combined with decent power, where the 1000 is just too powerful to properly enjoy on the roads. Both the 600 and 1000 requires a different approach and each have their pro’s. However, as the 750’s were once the WSB category bikes from Japan. So, in my own humble opinion I’d take the 750 over the other two for both the streets and also the tracks. 👍😎🇦🇺

      Just ordered a set of used tyres that have had 1 track session on them. Kind of a stop gap tyre... Michelin Power RS

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 2 роки тому +1

      @@bikehubjapan Nice choice in tyres. From my perspective, I don’t buy second hand (however you did mention as a stop gap so all good). The only advice I can give, which applies to any tyre, is if they have seen a track (even just once) that rubber does have a “memory”. Meaning it’s related to the heat cycle they experience. In general terms to regain the same level of feel the tyres need to reach what they did on track in temperature, to have the same level of grip and feedback, which in normal road riding isn’t as easy to achieve. However, as you haven’t ridden a brand new set of these (I’m assuming), then you won’t really notice the difference unless you go past the tyres limits which again is difficult whilst riding on the streets. Good luck, I hope this helps. 👍😎🇦🇺

    • @bikehubjapan
      @bikehubjapan  2 роки тому +1

      I've never bought used rubber either, but I've bought plenty of used bikes and just ridden with the tyres that were already fitted, so basically not much of a difference lol. But yeah, basically I'm going to do 1 track session on the used Power RS, then see how they are. Only $100 for the pair, so not too bad if they suck and have to throw them out

  • @jayflash2035
    @jayflash2035 2 роки тому +1

    I think you’re probably right. Although I fear that if I had the 750 I’d probably ride it harder than my 1000 and end up crashing it :/

    I'm in love with the K8 1000 but it's over my budget. so i look at k1 k2 models. Are the older models bad?
