When I've tried to trade forex, I've lost money pretty consistently (so I've given up on that). But my P&L with S&P futures has been reasonably good over the last 5+ years.
One advantage to forex for myself is that I feel I understand the entire market (stocks, futures and forex) just from trading forex. This is because the fundamentals I need to stay up on (central banks, indices, geopolitical, economic) give me an understanding of how currencies impact these other markets like the major indices. For example, many times the US dollar will be down so the effect is the stock market rallying. I can use that knowledge to invest in SP500 indices or SP micro. Also, in forex I would never trade it like a retail trader. It’s best to understand how bankers are trading forex in order to win.
In the e-mini futures one tick is $12.50 and $0.01 in EURUSD. E-mini require several charts, the S&P500, the e-mini 24-hour chart, the e-mini session chart and every quarter the old and new e-mini chart, you usually have to pay for chartservice and datafeed. Forex only has one chart and chart and datafeed is free. Only one gap a week usually covered within a few hours. Forex is so much better.
I think gaps are very dangerous for indeces and commodities. On the other hand, trends are more understandable. But I think Forex seems to be more suitable for swing trading. Trading both of them is useless. Focusing one of them is better.

hi...just a basic question...if 1 ES contract underlying is $139500 (50x2970approx). But you only need around $8000 in your account. How much profit do you make if the ES moves up 10 point (2970 to 2980)? thx
i trade all instruments (minus cfd). they're both great, but i'm so impressed with how much better the technology is that's been created for individual and institutional fx traders. i am guessing that since beginners can start with so little money it's opened the doors for systems and robots sellers (just a guess). there's a lot of crap out there, but the flood of participants has attracted legions of REALLY smart code writers (all over the world); some of which also understand markets... there are some great algorithmic trading and system choices for futures, options and stock traders as well, but in the past few years i've become very impressed with the technology that's available in the fx platforms, execution, and again, the programmer talent it's attracted.

forex for swing trading and futures for day trading / scalping
for Scalping Futures is Better!...
The inclusion of micro contracts changes everything . Futures now exceed everything by far
Where do u trade micro futures contracts in the UK? i.e. not a cfd broker's contract?

What is the smallest account to trade e-minis?-----simple as that----how can I start in e-minis on an absolutely minimal beginner's budget ??
futures all day
How can you get level 2 data (like DOM) in forex when it’s interbank and not all happening at one exchange?
There are so many people who seem so scammy in forex so I’m just inherently weary of it.
What about that futures market is highly regulated and centralized and Forex is not?

Very well explanation .
Futures are so cheap than Forex, just swap will eat all your profit in the long run

You left off the most important advantage of forex. Forex is recession proof.
Maybe you should make a video titled "E-mini Futures vs. Forex Futures, which are better to trade?"
Whatever works for you. Some extremely profitable forex traders out there
I'm wondering what the playboy book beside screens is about :D

Mark, Do you use Order flow software ? Can you please do a video on that ? Thanks.
I"m forwarding this to Mark - he may cover this topic in a future video.
Hi Mark, i am about to start trading Indices through CFDS with my FX broker. Should i be worried about the liquidity?
Unlikely unless you are trading in very big size!
@@ukspreadbetting ok thanks, it just looks more convenient than opening a new brokerage account.
Hello Mark, last I asked you about the best platform in Europe to trade futures?
Try Interactive Brokers (but its for advanced users)
Would trading sp500 directly with a direct CME futures broker be cheaper than going through a Forex broker? Did I miss something? -best, -hg
my goal is to understnad every market well and trade all markets if its possible
If you understand one market well enough that's all you need.
