  • This carb was in rough shape when it hit the bench. Now it looks better than new for an old carburetor. Can't thank yall enough for the support and watching the videos. Any comments, questions, suggestions, would be much appreciated!!
    Thanks,

    Did set the float level. That will help the transition from idle to mains, the higher the float the quicker the main will come on.

      Yea!! On the 50 DCO I am running I finally got it all dialed in. Changed the choke tubes a bit smaller and it helped with my off idle stumble for the big bridgeport engine. This 45 is going on a stock 12a. So it should be super easy to dial in. Thank you for the insight!!!

    See you ended up with a side draft instead of a down draft. Nice!

    I sent my 13b to a "specialist" For a rebuild and after $3,000 I got an engine with 60psi. The "specialist" Say that I have to run 1,000 miles to improve engine compression. Engine not even start without ATF help. Is it true what the specialist said? Please your advise.

      Id say that is not an ideal rebuild. Yes you will see an increase in compression as the seals bed in, but I dont think it will bump 20 psi... I usually like to see better than 80 psi for compression numbers on an engine I rebuild. Even using some used parts. Or not surfacing housings. 80 psi will pretty much start regardless of a good/bad tune

      Id ask him what seals he used and what side seal clearances. Solid corner seals? Also did you get to see the housings condition when the engine came apart?

      @@RADPotential I saw the housings, they were in good condition. I will ask him about seals. Thanks

    • @RADPotential
      @RADPotential  2 роки тому +1

      I have noticed a significant loss of compression using Solid Corner seals, especially if the side seal clearances aren't checked to those seals

    Adjust the few harsh sound and you could tag it as ASMR lol

      I dont know that this carb would have come on a car from the factory. It's an aftermarket carb.

      I think in the early 60s and 70s, you would have found carbs much like a sidedraft DCOE on some of the Italian and European cars.
