Listen to a lot of people speaking Mandarin if you want to improve your understanding and pronunciation.... It's slower, but the impact in the long run is much better.
I had to laugh at the shameless plug slap 😂😂😂 But this is all good advice... I'm fortunate to not have a deadline for learning Mandarin, but even those who do should still pace themselves and find the combination of different methods to get the best results.

This really wasn’t a good video tbh. I feel like you didn’t really go in depth about how to actually learn mandarin. Especially you over glossing tones which are not easy.
Next one will be more deep and specific. Thank you for your advice. Tones in Mandarin are indeed very difficult, but apart from listening and practicing, there isn't much else we can do. Are you struggling with pronunciations right now? I want to offer you a free half hour session to help you. If you are interested, just schedule a meeting through calendly : calendly.com/teamsjm99/30min and tell me what problems you are having and I can be prepared to help you :)

True.
I would say:
- Listen to a song purely for the detection on initial + vowel
- Listen to a youtube video to add the tonal's on top

In the Republic of China Taiwan attack is 攻擊 gōng-jí and rooster is 公雞 gōng-jī, so there's a difference in pronunciation.
That's how to identify a Taiwanese lol. The people who are speaking in this accent is way less than the people who speak China mainland's Mandarin.
@@JM_Shen There's no one accent in China either. My friends from Shanghai speak a very different dialect of Mandarin than those from Peking.
@@TalaySeedam in China mainland, there’s many accents especially in southern provinces. But we learn the same thing in school.
love your soft smooth accent..what province are you from? wish i could speak mandarin like that...
