    My truck with the 2.5 system tracks straight and drives like a dream with the factory arms, but always good to know there are options. I love this company. Can’t wait for the trophy hitch to hit the market - riding around with a 37 in the bed until then

    I appreciate that you installed all shims, then went back & installed the 3 notch & you mentioned in the video that the reading is different than before. We run into that all the time at work w/ 3 Hunter Align. machines & sometimes they can be close to each other & sometimes not. Overall a very great design & explanation of what the product does w/ proof.

    man, your kit comes with ALMOST everything. bolts, brake lines, vacuum extension, all that crap that you wouldn't normally get in kits of anything. but, with full deaver rear leafs, it'd be super nice to include the shortened front leaf bolt. and if you could design a bolt on bracket for limit strap, that'd be icing on the cake.

      Exactly why we had to redesign them to be quicker to produce. I promise, we're firing on all cylinders trying to fill orders over here. We appreciate you guys bearing with us!

    Haven’t lifted my truck, getting these to add a degree to degree and half caster.

      Got them installed. The two notch shim put me at 4.7 degree positive caster. Everything feels much more stable now.

    How much caster correction do the radius arm drop down brackets add?

    That is a very good product with all the adjustability but if someone ordered them today what is the wait time to get them since the 2 top retailers for Carli are saying 5 months before any radius arms are available?

    • @thecarlisuspension

      Exactly to my point in the video - our backorder direct is crazy right now. These will allow us to cut down the manufacturing time and hopefully allow us to start catching up on these backorders!

    So you changed a product that people has already ordered and paid for but never got?
    I would be pretty upset if the part I received wasn't the one I originally ordered.

    Why would you possibly need to mix match shims? Aren’t these all fixed points the arms are attaching too ?

  • @reysgarage9287
    @reysgarage9287 Рік тому

    So, why do y’all stick with the radius arm style suspension and not convert to a parallel 4 link with separate upper and lower control arms? With the radius arms, the caster is “locked” essentially and throughout the suspension cycle the caster is going to change with it. I just feel like a 4 link setup would help with articulation and keep the caster change and bump steer to a minimum. Especially with the suspension travel numbers your kits are capable of.

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Рік тому +3

      Hey Rey - good question! We always loved the Radius arm platform and never found it to be a limiting factor requiring redesign given our intended use. If we find significant limitations to the platform, we'll figure out a solution. The 4-link will articulate more and maintain caster throughout the stroke. The Radius arms will only articulate as much as the bushings will deflect acting as a secondary sway-control mechanism without limiting the articulation we need to see from a performance stand-point. You're correct, the caster changes throughout the stroke with the radius arm but this actually keeps the pinion angle in check to avoid binding your driveshaft at the bottom of the travel stroke. The "4-Link vs. Radius Arm" discussion is as old as coil spring straight axle trucks - they both have their pros and cons. In the HD truck platform, we prefer the radius arms for their stability and pinion angle as we're building utilitarian rigs. In a Jeep, it would be a center mounted long-arm 4-link all day but you're not towing anything with one of those! You can see from our videos, the radius arms are not limiting our axle movement!

    Have a 19 SD with 2.5 commuter. Drove fine with RL track bar bracket but couldnt stand the tires sticking out more on the passenger side. Went back to stock bracket and switched to Carli track bar. Had to shorten the bar way down to center. Now it pulls hard right. Already have the shims and alignment is spot on. Would these arms help that by adding more castor in general? Might doing a higher notch on the passenger side help. Drives great other than pull. I'm considering replacing the upper stabilizer but feel thats not enough with this much pull.

    Are the limit straps required when running these arms? Wouldnt be a big deal if they were bolt on, but for a lot of DIY guys that dont have access to a welder are they required?

    Installing a Commuter on my 17 F350 Tuesday. Ordering the radius arms to be delivered about a week later. Given that my truck will be aligned immediately upon installing the commuter kit, can I install these without any shims and not have to get it realigned afterwords? I’m trying to avoid paying someone to install these then align my truck again if I am able.

    I haven’t installed my kit yet on my 2020 F350. In your opinion should I just leave the stock ball joint shim in and adjust at the radius arm? If so, what notch # would suggest I put in before I drive over to get an alignment. Or do I also put in your supplied ball joint shim too?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  2 роки тому

      If you're adding our radius arms, there's no need to utilize the ball-joint shim as well. The arms have plenty of correction to address the caster in both lift heights!

    Dan,
    I live in Austin Texas and just ordered a 2022 F-350 Platinum which should be arriving in approximately 60 days (March 1st). Watching your Carli videos has convinced me to spend the extra money and have my truck modified correctly. I don't go off-road and do not pull or haul anything, but I'd like my new truck to me maxed out (4.5 w/37") to include radius arms and sway bar, etc. My first question is about the lead-time on any of these components - I would like to time everything with the delivery date of my truck.
    And also, are there any changes in the parts for a 2022 . . . will everything fit and work? Please let me know. Thanks
