Thanks for the install guide. For your next video, how about a demo of the swivel seats? Sit in them and show how they work without having to open the door.
I’ve only done the passenger side so far, but you need a 13mm socket and a 5mm Allen wrench. Can’t seem to turn around well while in the seat but it’s doable without opening the door.
I would recommend them for sure on the passenger side, but the drivers side I would probably try and go a different route. I'm short so the seat height increase has more impact on my comfort.
Also that about that and just marking the bolt and seat rail. Figured someone would have it on hand. Still interesting how ford does not supply its upfitters with paper manuals.
RichBuilt - Rich l work for Ford Engineering. If you download the Ford Transit Body and Equipment Mounting Manual from the web ( good general doc for complete vehicle )it suggests for seat mounts torques to contact a ford service dealer to Confirm this torque. If unsuccessful contact the Vehicle Converter Advisory Service at: VCAS@ford.com. FYI- the ranger seat bolt torque is 47 Nm but you will need to confirm for Transit- it May be slightly different
I did, they are currently not available. However I hear they do make noises and wobble. I’ll have to confirm this in person. I’ll likely swap to them when they become available.
Hey I'm trying to watch and build my own in the future! If you ever need help with yours, I can try to help so I get a bit more knowledge. I have some tools if you need any too
Good job! I bought the Sportscraft ones. Driver side I can swivel with the door closed but it slightly rubs the armrest on the steering wheel. I also had to remove the lid and battery bracket. I used a 1/4 inch of flexible foam over the dual battery terminals. Yours look much easier to install since you don't have to take the wire connectors apart under the seat. What's next with the 80/20? I'm trying to get my shower built this week. I bought the 15 series for that. Need to get some 20 series for the garage stuff👌🏾😆
We had this Amazing Auto professionally installed. Love everything except that it is virtually impossible for my wife to get the swivel to rotate. We cleaned the poly and added a lighter grease to surface at three points with little improvement. Had rented sprinter prior to buying 15 passenger Transit to convert and never had a problem. QUESTION?? In your experience, is there any adjustment that can be made to make the swing a bit more manageable for a 79 year old?
I agree, it can be a little tough to rotate. I found the easiest way to do it is to unhook/unlatch the swivel just slightly and then grab the seat with both hands to rotate and not rotate it with the lever under the seat.
nice work , i'm waiting for my new Transit limited L2HE hier in Belgium , wich i will get around september, i'm looking for some ideas related to a pop-up bed or a idraulic one, to be easely moving up and down when needed have any idea's? plenty of pop-up beds for fiat -citroen-mercedes- but no one s making it for the Ford Transit keep up the nice videos !!! grts from Ostende at the belgiums shores
Thank you, I haven't see anyone with Transit with that setup but I know there are a couple companies that make the assembly. Check out Happijac® Power Bed Lift
I saw that 8020 box, can't wait to see what you build out of it!! I'm using it in my build too. I'm not sure if I heard you say turn off the airbags but you should do it when you remove the seats, there's a switch in the glove box. Rich, I tried to install the $400 scopema and found out I have to trim the plastic and it doesn't swivel with the door open. Looks like the one you got Amazing Auto looks like you don't have to open the door? There was no trimming either? Plug and play? I have the 10 way leather. Thanks bud. Keep up the good work.
Hey Micah - if you have the 10 way you have to trim the plastic trim. There are ways to make it a clean cut so do some digging for a couple others who have performed that modification. Mine are an offset swivel so you don't have to open the door. The trade off is the seat gains about 1/2" in height.
So you said in a reply that the seat height increase made the seat less comfortable for you. You said you'd try a different route on the driver's side. What would allow you to avoid the seat height change and still have a swivel option?
Hi Lindy - There are a couple other brands, that increase the seat height to less than 1 inch. I was thinking of swapping to a different brand like this one. They were back ordered and very expensive so I opted for a the economical variant. sprinterupgrades.com/products/scopema-sprinter-seat-swivel
@@lindyswanson1 These are the only 2 that I looked into but the ford transit forum has a lot of info regarding all the different ones with peoples reviews as well.
One mistake I made was putting in the new bolts with the bolt up. The bolts should actually be put in from the underside with the nuts on top. Kind of a pain to align the holes too.
Hey man. You are very inspiring and I like yours vids and courage to do all that. But whether you are thinking about further yt video productions you should buy yourself some shooting stabilizer as otherwise people like me with motionsickness are going to be madly dizzy soon :)
haha thanks, Petr, agreed! Budget for new video equipment is low on my priority list but hopefully soon. Keeping an eye for a cheap GoPro. For now I'll try to record with a steady hand.
Thanks for the video, getting ready to order these too. I was wondering if the bracket was this one: vanupgrades.com/products/transit-park-brake-handle-lowering-kit . Perhaps one of the other brackets on the market would lower the brake far enough without the rubbing issue? Thanks.
Thank you! and no problem! This is the bracket I got. I actually ending up getting a different bracket from Scopea and going to try that out. www.sprinterswivel.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=101&search=FORD+TRANSIT
According to our German Manufacture (Since 2004) "Place seat on swivel and install both rear factory seat mount bolts finger tight. Move seat back and in- stall both front bolts. Tighten all bolts to 20 pounds. Install seat belt bracket with bolt and tighten to 28 pounds"
According to the factory workshop manual, the torque spec for the four seat mounting bolts is 18 lb.ft (25 Nm).
Thank you!
The 10mm socket.... a mythical beast that disappears after first use.
Thanks for showing this. Best video showing how to do these swivels.
Thanks!
Thanks for the install guide. For your next video, how about a demo of the swivel seats? Sit in them and show how they work without having to open the door.
That’s a good idea, I may just do that. Tried to show a little bit of it at the end also

No problem 👍
Coming together nicely Rich. Looking forward to seeing what your plans are for the rest of the build.
Thank you! Should be getting to the interior design soon.
Thanks for putting my music Mikko!
Great video and install!! wanted to check in to see how the Amazing Auto swivels are working out and if you would recommend them
I would recommend them for sure on the passenger side, but the drivers side I would probably try and go a different route. I'm short so the seat height increase has more impact on my comfort.
Do you still have the Amazing Auto swivels installed and if so, have they gotten easier to swivel?
Any thought to using a dremmel and cutting down the garnish to get a more professional look?
Thanks, David, I think that's the route I'll end up doing. Will definitely look more professional.
Good Call! Swivel seats will be mandatory on my build! What do you do for a job?? You so should be a mechanical engineer !!
Thanks Pat! My background is in Architecture and Construction
Thanks!
Rich- to work out the factory torque you should first over torque the bolt to see what it starts to torque at- this is the factory torque
Also that about that and just marking the bolt and seat rail. Figured someone would have it on hand. Still interesting how ford does not supply its upfitters with paper manuals.

@@jamesmicah99 for factory seats i sure hope not. That would eliminate them from the race.

Weird your swivel bit the e brake. My 2016 cleared fine with the same swivel. Nice recovery with the washers.
Yeah I actually ended up making the bracket holes larger so I could drop it more. Safer modification than the washers
How did you make the holes larger?
Should have started with the fact i like your videos. Helpfull info.
👍
Thanks 👍
Don’t know if I missed it but where did you get the base from. Loved the video.
Hi, no worries. Its from Amazing Auto. The link is in the description.
Nice job! Where did you find a passenger seat with an armrest?
Thank you, they are factory
Thanks. I’ve struggled to find aftermarket passenger seat w/ an armrest that don’t cost an arm and a leg.
@@lifemedsafety 😅
The new 2021 has electric parking brake on dash and the seat lever on the front is different..so it looks easier
yeah the manual e brake doesn't make much sense with the swivel seats. I've seen some other install the electric brake, maybe in the future.
Where did you get the bracket to lower the ebrake assembly? Do you have a link or a schematic? Awesome progress so far.
Thank you! It came with the Swivel, link in the description
@@RichBuilt great to know! Thank you! :)
When you did the passenger side seat, did you turn your battery off by disconnecting the negative? I read somewhere that is supposed to be done
I did not, the only connection under there is the air bag sensor that needs to be unplugged. Maybe for the 10 way adjustable seats it’s different
How did you trim out the parking brake after lowering it??
I have left it exposed for now.
So do these swivels rattle around at all, like your say the OEM's do?
I've heard people complain about the OEM making noise while driving. These don't make any noise at all.
Will this work for 10 way power seats?
Yes, but you'll need to trim the plastic side panels. there are a couple how to tutorials online
Do those make the seats wobble?
No wobble at all!
