- Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for China's foreign ministry has described a potential TikTok ban by the US as “an act of bullying” that would backfire on America during a news conference in Beijing. CNN's Marc Stewart reports. #CNN #news
China does not allow Facebook, google, LinkedIn and other American companies so why should we allow TikTok?
Exactly. Ban TikTok in the United States.
So your answer to a totalitarian country doing totalitarian things... is to do totalitarian things?
You like USA too be like China ? 😂 what next one parti system
@@alexs1640How is banning TikTok totalitarian? There are other ways that people can make videos without using TikTok
Indeed,Europe should follow.

I didn’t expect Americans to be so afraid of China. You have no confidence in democracy and freedom.
Exactly
Yup! Time for Americans to wake up. I do feel bad for the people who have careers on tik tok but the 9-5 is always calling!
Because Tiktok is linked with the Chinese government 😂
Why is korea concerened about Samsung and why is taiwan concerened about TSMC, it's a free market, people can choose to use X or tiktok or not, why does government have to intervene in the free market so explicitly,
The United States has banned China's Huawei, banned China's new energy vehicles, and banned the export of high-tech products such as chips to China. Despite this, Apple has performed well in the Chinese market and Tesla has also achieved significant success in China.
Because apple and tesla is contributing to the Chinese economy. Those companies are no threat to their national security including UA-cam, Facebook, instagram and twitter yet they’re banned in china.
China banned so many American companies it would take a hour to list them.
Actually TikTok is banned in China.
We are the land of censorship and control and not the land if the free.
I only want to ask you what the connection is between the two things that you have mentioned? The reason why US government forced China's companies to sell itself is that they didn't follow the rules of "FAIR COMPETITION", the manifestation that China's government haven't taken the restrictive actions to US companies exactly shows their nobility of morality. In contrast, the US government is despicable.

This is something Bytedance did with TikTok as they're all kept on Oracle servers in the US. US companies didn't adhere to their laws so they can't do business there.
You're referring to the national security law of 2015.
China banned Facebook in 2009 following the Urumqi riots in the Xinjiang province. The Chinese government alleged that the riots were planned on Facebook and that the platform refused to cooperate by disclosing information about the alleged planners. As a result, Facebook was blocked in mainland China, except for the Hainan province, where it is allowed to operate to attract tourists. It remains unblocked there to this day alogn with UA-cam, Google, X, etc.
The ban on Facebook is part of China's broader internet censorship regime, known as the "Great Firewall", which restricts access to many foreign websites and social media platforms. Other banned platforms include Twitter, Instagram, UA-cam, and Google services[3].
While Facebook is blocked in mainland China, it can still be accessed using a VPN (virtual private network) that routes traffic through a server outside of China. However, the use of VPNs is also monitored and sometimes restricted by the Chinese government[2][5].
In 2018, Facebook attempted to set up a $30 million subsidiary in Hangzhou to incubate startups and provide advice to local businesses, but the permission was quickly withdrawn[4]. Despite the ban, Facebook still generates significant revenue from China through advertising resellers[2].

But I thought TikTok wasn’t part of China, it’s part of Singapore???!! So why are the Chinese afraid?😂
Afraid? Who has been afraid?
Chinese company Byte Dance owned company.
@@CN_SFY_General Yeap, owned, not owns.
😂 more like the US is afraid because tick tok is more popular than Facebook and Instagram 😂
Man, educate yourself before making a fool of yourself. Well, too late for that.
Ban that TikTok here in Europe too pls
The fact that China is even opposed to the banning of tik tok.. smells fishy!! Get rid of it please! Something is off about this frfr.. And I’m a black man speaking here! Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer 🤔
Why can't American $ start their own version of TikTok.
Because they can't.
Capability exists already within UA-cam. Just isn’t as popular.

Fact: Tiktok is banned in China as well.
nope u are wrong, go to google urself
@@kenho-wr5ul2rh7m Its a different type of Tik Tok. China is dumbing down our youth on purpose.
@@kenho-wr5ul2rh7m China is covid spreaders go look that up
@@kenho-wr5ul2rh7mActually yes it is, Douyin is a separate app that doesn't show content from TikTok just as TikTok doesn't show content from Douyin. Additionally Douyin uses a different algorithm that promotes educational and lifestyle improvement related content, pushes down gaming, dance and music, and outright removes things like viral challenges, and promiscuity. All while heavily censoring political content. They are very different apps that just happen to be opened by the same company. TikTok ≠ Douyin.
@kenho-wr5ul2rh7m It's true. And the ban is very strict. Even if you use vpn, it is also difficult to use tiktok.
This young generation was failed. Worst generation yet.
Get rid of TEMU as well
Follow the money, who is to benefit from the ban? It is not hard to figure this out.
tinfoil hatters spotted

Whats funny is that TikTok is banned in China.🤣🤣
9:07 no censorship? How dare they
So China doesn't allow Facebook, Google and UA-cam,X in its country.. I am not US citizen and I don't see a reason the the US shouldn't ban TikTok also.
If you feel that the United States has lost confidence in freedom and democracy, and should start learning from China's policies, as a Chinese I feel it is an honor.
They are not in china because they don't want to follow Chinese laws ,do your research
@@user-nl2js1bk1p well democracy is also about VOTING for the ban. If the majority agrees, the app is banned.
Google withdrew from the Chinese market voluntarily. Chinese government asked them to keep the data in China, but they refused. But TikTok has been banned by the US government for doing so.
@@Dave05J Indeed, you could still elect Hit ler to power.
This is the most hideous precedent of all time. If any foreign company can be forced to be sold like this, then should China reciprocate the same to American companies having businesses there?
I mean if they could.. they can go for it then
of course can
