The oil market is not going up when it should - im staying out until it starts going up and will go long. Theres no need to front run this trade. People keep saying oil and copper will rally due to fundamental reasons but price action is king.

monetary policy keeps it down... otherwise demand could be higher... keeps consumer purchase power lower (except in US)... but once that is lifted, things can change over this decade. However political reasons support keeping it high to squeeze bad actors and countries out there. India is question mark if they truly are becoming "new china" meaning fast expanding manufacturing base along Mexico. Lot of countries' economies are in toilet keeping purchase power down.

The problem with subsidizing local production is that its more difficult to centrally embezzle all that cash away from actual companies.
Any discussion on how much longer oil will last, and what an oiless world will look like? Seems to me this is the biggest, unspoken disaster facing mankind in the coming decades.
It's unquantifiable currently.
There are going to be massive reserves discovered when the price point hits an inflection that justifies deeper and more exotic exploration. Guaranteed it won't be in our lifetime though.
@@travisc2094 50 years, is the estimate I've read. The push to 'renewables' is an effort to stave off the inevitable. Once the oil's gone, mankind will forever fall back into the dark ages.

And risk his job and career by saying things that can get him into cancling? Sure bud. Once your name is out there your now much more likely to get repercussions and now you say is more cautious. There's a reason why goverment employees keep there names and faces obuscated when performing certain duties.
