Super helpful tip, Mario. Today's windsurfers are lucky to have access to the vids that you and guys like Nico and Nils are putting out. Can't wait to get on the water to experiment.
Thank you Mario. I've learnt recently that going really downwind before a jibe helps with any kind of jibe. And of course go 'deep in the knees', like you are making a turn on skies.
I'm gonna try it. laydown jibe is what I want to learn. This trick looks like with the duck jibe. I always crashed no matter what. couldn't turn in the right time etc and somewhere I read this "just start to count, one and duck". SOOOOOOOOOO F.........G simple and worked!!! 🙂
Looking towards the exit in a gybe is not only a convenience (the body follows where one looks) but also a necessity, in order to see if anyone is coming up from behind. I recommend Sam Ross' tutorial on the carve gybe as well as the lay down gybe.
True, but I would add to that, that it has to be checked before entering the jibe, wether everything is clear. 99% of windsurfers do not have the skill to change where they are going in a jibe. So it makes barely any difference (in that regard) where they look. Also, most windsurfers are not able to look ahead anyway in a jibe, its very very difficult. So in my opinion what you are saying is true for a best case scenario, but a good real life scenario for me would be to check everything before you jibe and then simlpy do the best you can. In a slalom race its of course a different talk, but then we are talking about pro level...
Hi Mario😊 Thank you for all the videos and your tips. They are very helpful indeed! Could you tell us a bit about harness line length, fin size, mast base position and height of boom and the possible changes you make on these according to the conditions. Thanks a lot in advance.
as you said the "laydown" jibe is a "style" jibe. If you, like the real pros are 120% fully powered up, which no normal surfer is able to control, then it makes sense. Otherwise you just kill your speed and therefore the jibe so easily. But the main move, to sheet in the sail which is the little brother of the lay down, this every windsurfer should train. Still hard ennough because it means "balls", i.e. commitment to the rail pressure.

@@bertvwveldman3931 wird noch weitere Giveaways geben...😄
I can ask: Is the radius much more narrow than the normal power jibe 😊. Thanks a lot for your tips.
Depends on how you sail the jibe - but no, normally the radius is even a bit wider, unless you are an absolute pro.😄
@@MarioKuempelBecause it looks so narrow, when you do it:-).
@@michelletran7852 ah true! but its because I go sooo far downwind, its not because of the jibe.😄
@@MarioKuempel So Pro😍
Look easy but very hard 😂 thanks
Try it, you’ll be surprised! But go for flat water..😄
Kommen jetzt alle Videos nur noch in englisch??
Ja, aber schon seit letztem August…🤣

Common, use ur racing sails 😮😢
Wenn der scheiß Container kommt gerne!🤣
Why is it that all the larger windsurfing channels on UA-cam make jibe tutorials at the same time?
It’s a random coincidence 😄 will happen more often probably
First😂
