Colin Chapman did indeed add lightness to his formula one cars. They were very fast but also very fragile. The number of drivers whose careers or lives were ended in Lotuses is longer than I care to remember. One I will never forget was my boyhood hero- Jim Clark.
Mr. Colin Chapman changed my life, too. Thank you Mr. Chapman.

6 died in a Ferrari (+1 during a test), 5 in a Lotus F1-car though...if you add Clarks F2-crash, it's 7 vs. 6...

A great homage to the man who made cars & motorsport what are today. Remember people: "Performace through lightness & simplicity"

Nice that they didn't mention Emmerson on the list of drivers who were attracted to Lotus!

That was heavy.
Ludovico Einaudi - "Dietro Casa". Song's name...
They forgot to say Emerson Fittipald, the Brazilian who gave one title to Lotus team in 1972 and than got another but at Mclaren's in 74.
16 December 1982 - 30 years ago today. A great loss to motorsport.
Companies not Company. Lotus Cars and Team Lotus.
