Kaas pathar is located 25 Km away from Satara District H.Q. & 20 Km away from Northern part of Koyana Sanctuary. Locally called as 'Kas Pathar' or 'Plateau of Flowers'.The major portion of the plateau is Reserve Forest. Kas plateau is listed under the Protection Working Circle. Kas lake (built 100 years ago) is a perennial source of Water supply for western part of Satara city by gravity.It is a glory of satara forest division.
Out of the 624 flowering species. 39 species are found in the Kas Region only.It is approximately 6% of Red data species. It has become very urgent to take effective measures to protect this whole area in order to conserve the diverse, rare and endangered flora of the Kas plateau. Plateau seems to change the colours after every 15- 20 days as the cycle of flowering plants progresses with the monsoon progress from June to October.

How much time it takes to complete the whole flower valley?
Is it possible to go there with a small baby?
It will take around 1-2 hours while walking and if you will rent a cycle (only available in weekdays) then it might take 45-70mins. at the end it's all depend on you also k aap Kitna time doge kis jagah ko.
Yes you can carry baby but sometimes it's very sunny so little one might get uncomfortable & there is no place to sit at kas so that might cause some problem but if u have lot many people to take care then hopefully won't have any problem & put sunscreen, plz carry water and snacks with you.

The season for 2024 starts from September 20, 2024 and the season ends around October 20, 2024. You can visit in September.

No. Mid of the Oct is final best time. Till nov flower will wither.
Is it still the same?
It might b but there are possibilities that the flowers will dry up due to harsh sunshine. Try to go as soon as possible shreshty.
