Been on it for a week, I don't miss the Note 20 Ultra. I like the small size, it's fast enough (especially with 0.5x animations), the battery is just as good and the photos amasing. I just miss the big storage or SD card slot. Google assistant works well (especially fun with IFTTT, like stopping the PC), and Macrodroid lets us get the same routines as Bixby.
Do you know how to turn off the selfie post processing? All I can find are people talking about the Face Retouching setting and this is already off. Does Google think everyone wants to look like they have an inch of make up on?
"Skip around how you see fit", no sh**! Watched all 21 minutes and 2 seconds of it. So detailed and amazing, couldn't even think about skipping. Getting a Pixel 5 so this really helped me out. Thanks for taking the time to make such a detailed video, looking forward to more such awesome vids mate!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been a user of an iPhone for the last 8 years and I've just got a Pixel 5... I can see why people move away from iPhones! Thanks again - really helpful!
Just got a Pixel 5 today - bought it for astro BUT having watched this twice I have a sneaky feeling im gonna use these cameras a whole lot more !! Excellent vid buddy - big thumbs up.
Super helpful. I'll be making the switch to Pixel because of the battery life and the camera. This video lays out more features than I even knew I would be getting with my phone. Thank you for posting!
This video was clear and concise and well explained. Even I learned a couple of things, I sent this to a lady who kept asking me questions about the Pixel 5. Great job dude 👌
Good video for this non-photographer. Unusual question. I might have to use my Pixel 5 to photograph old documents in an archive. One and a half centuries of light English damp sometimes converts sharp back on white into blunt dark grey on medium grey. Suggestions welcomed.
This taught us so much about a phone we've had for years. This will definitely level us up, thank you. One question we haven't found a clear answer to is how does the image quality change for photos between .6 zoom and 1 zoom, does anyone know?
So helpful! I had not used Google pixel anything until this phone. Had a hawei phone last and loved it lol about to go to a major concert and can't bring my bigger camera into the arena and am trying to figure out if this camera on my phone will be enough🤣
Great video... I'm new to the pixel series and appreciated the inclusion of some functions that were new to me but someone already using a pixel would know. Thanks!
Great breakdown! I've been using the phone for more than a year now and I've put the camera and the editing suite through its paces. There's another option in the AI Suggestions tab called 'Dynamic'. I guess it either came out after you posted this video or is a Google One exclusive feature which is why you didn't mention it. Maybe you can talk about it in a future video. I was wondering if you knew of a way if we could apply the AI Suggestions filters such as Enhance and Dynamic to multiple photos in the Google Photos gallery at a time. The Dynamic filter is really good for cityscape/landscape photos and I slap it on most such pics, but end up having to do them one at a time.
Thanks for the extensive review, the most comprehensive one I've seen so far. I'll be having the phone in a couple of days, so I'm binge watching reviews and it exciting to see you had one released. The editing feature looks like wizardry especially the relighting of the face. Does it work with raw files or only JPEGs? And if yes, is it then saved as a new JPEG?
My DSLR camera stopped working about a year ago and I really didn't have the money for a new one. But I just got a pixel 5 and I don't think I even need a camera anymore.
Note1; if you enable 4k 60 fps, you cannot switch to the WA lens anymore. Also, if you reenter the camera the setting seems to set itself back to 4k 30 fps. Just to keep in mind. Note2; IIRC video recording and stabilization is better at 1080P. Especially in dark conditions. Havent tested on the pixel5 yet, but to keep in mind Note3; google has one of the best digital zooms. the camera actually has magic in it, no shit! BUT, its still 'only' a digital zoom, so most if not all telephoto lenses outshine it at zoomed shots. The WA lens isnt as good as expected.
Some good tips. With topshot, I think the motion photos setting is in the video tab, at least on my phone which looks different to the one displayed. I would use topshot because my nephews are always pulling bad faces in photos.
Any cool hack to get a Notification LED happening with Pixel 5 ? ... Need to know when I get a message and other notifications using the camera LED ... please help...
Hi thx for the video, i really learned something!, one thing i miss is the Auto-flash setting, its gone in this version of the camera App, the older one had it. Do you know if its a bug or intended?
Great tips! Do you recommend a wide-angle lens? I take pictures of trucks and like close-ups. Also, I love the top shot feature when taking photos because I can export as a gif.
Very helpful, but I do have a question. Under outdoor with bright light, it is difficult to see the screen when you take selfie. Some other cameras will bright up the center part of the screen so that you can see. But I can hardly see anything on Google Pixel 5. I can only estimate my position on the screen and take a shot by luck. How to resolve this problem?
Hello!..great video... ... I got the Pixel5 Unlocked phone. Got the March security patch. I have a T-Mobile eSim that is 5g compatible. I have another physical SIM which is 4g and from a different line/carrier. I noticed that when the Pixel 5 setting for my T-Mobile eSim is turned to '5g (preferred)' , the phone just stops all communication with the networks. Both connections show a 'x' sign against the Towers and now I am left with no network at all. Both connections are getting impacted with one setting. Then, I switched to 3g mode ... and it worked... then moved to LTE and it worked.... so it looks like that security patch has not solved things but causing even more issues now! .. with a simple 5g setting, both networks go offline and we are left with no connectivity. Any suggestions? ...

only one i cant seem to get to work is the add blur to non portrait pictures. I do the steps as told in this video and it doesnt give me the option to blur background
I like the info and the ability just wish I didn't need to learn all this! Meaning I'd like a camera just to know and always take the picture to look like a professional. Pick outside day close up /distance or is it bright or cloudy high speed action, night sky ie stars and moon or night scene people inside dark people ECT... All this other tech stuff is too much to remember when taking a quick picture! 🤣 Nonetheless True for me !honest! I want it all 🤣🤣
It seems that clearing the cache fixes that (solution to target just one site on Firefox, having it loaded in a tab: [ CTRL ] [ i ], Security, Clear cookies and Site Data, select URL and click remove).
I don't get it why people waste there money on these poor man's Pixel products that wannabe iPhones. Just save your money 💰 and buy the best Samsung or Apple phone stop wasting money on mid range junk.
The pixels are actually great phones and I have 3 from each company; The best iphone , the best samsung and I find myself using the pixel 5 due to its lightweight mass and software features that separates it from other phones . The camera is amazing and the iphone does excell in some shots but then again it also falls upon the user experience.
This video is time stamped and chaptered for your convenience.
If you picked up a Pixel 5, how are you liking the camera?
Been looking for an all screen small form factor phone with a capable camera, Pixel 5 for me!
I think the same camera features available in Google pixel 4A 5G, it's true?
Yo I got a pixel 5 today and I don't have some of those option buttons when I have my camera pulled up. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Do you know how to turn off the selfie post processing? All I can find are people talking about the Face Retouching setting and this is already off. Does Google think everyone wants to look like they have an inch of make up on?

Welcome to Google Pixel Family!
I picked up a Pixel 4a 5G, which is basically a P5. EVERYTHING you said works for me as well. Thanks, man!
Just got a Pixel 5 today - bought it for astro BUT having watched this twice I have a sneaky feeling im gonna use these cameras a whole lot more !! Excellent vid buddy - big thumbs up.

Great suggestions bro I appreciate it just got the pixel 5 coming from a iPhone 11 pro
thank you man for this , was very useful I'll save the video
Excellent video. Really helpful tips.
Great info as usual my man!
Appreciate you boss! I need your IG skills though
@@OT4Tech lol. I think you do just fine
Nice video, but please add a note to 13:16 - HEVC Compression. Turning this feature on saves in format that cannot be played on Chromebook.
Awesome video bro, just got my pixel today and this was a big help
Great video man . I just got my pixel4 and am having hard time adjusting my camera .so I gave you thumb up
Thank you! Subscribed
Life saver 👏🏻 loved the video ! Helped me out a lot tbh !!!

Did the 5 get rid of light paint mode? If so is there a way to enable it?? I really liked this feature...
Great video - I learned a lot! Do you know of any good tutorials on the photo editor?
Great comprehensive breakdown of the camera! Got a pixel 4a 5G, do you know how different its camera is from the pixel 5's?
Very solid video, thanks!
Thanks for useful tips. Good job 👌

It works with raw photos and then saves as a jpeg. The amount of Camera and editing features in the pixel 5 is bananas haha
Although I have the 4A-5G and saw the features I don't have, your video helped me understand the features I do have. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thanks from the UK 🇬🇧 👍🏻
Imagine how good the 6 Pro is going to be, roll on October! 🙂
Nicely done. Thank you for this!
Wow! Impressive video. Thank you so much

Hi thx for the video, i really learned something!, one thing i miss is the Auto-flash setting, its gone in this version of the camera App, the older one had it. Do you know if its a bug or intended?
I think it was intended since night mode will automatically kick on and having auto flash would mess up that algorithm but I could be wrong.
Great tips! Do you recommend a wide-angle lens? I take pictures of trucks and like close-ups. Also, I love the top shot feature when taking photos because I can export as a gif.
During taking a video, how do I get it to flip back and forth between selfie mode during the video?
Very helpful, but I do have a question. Under outdoor with bright light, it is difficult to see the screen when you take selfie. Helpful 💯💯
Do these apply with the Pixel 4a 5G?
Impressive vid? Nah. Monumental. I was able to follow every single step without a glitch. Thanks for adding the additional narrative tips.

Is there an issue with audio sync on the video or is it my computer? :/
The audio was in sync on my end so I’m not sure

Is it just me or does my Pixel 3 take better pictures than my pixel 5?
Especially the front facing camera. Selfies look VERY blurry.
Anyone else??
