One of my greatest childhood memories was seeing my Italian grandmother meet an 8 ft. Boa constrictor. This was in the late 70s prior to the information age. She had so many misconceptions at first. After first convincing her to even allow the snake in the snake in the house, to then come close enough to get a good look at it. The first thing she said was "Wow! It had such pretty colors!" After a few minutes she was brave enough too touch it. And in a surprised voice she exclaimed "Ohh! It's not slimy!" Seeing this 60 plus year old woman be brave enough and open enough to learn and change her preconceived notions with delight in her eyes is a core memory I will always hold dear.
Dogs are trained to keep their right shoulder to the outside of the human's left leg, walking in step, just touching. This is so that the right-hand weapon is not hampered. Pack hunters of different species cooperating to mutual benefit.
@Shadowkey392 True. Teach your wolf as you wish, and in your native language. I'd have ridden a horse down the isle, doing a well practiced four footed slide and a hop onto the dias, long before I mentioned the worms in their dung. Also, horses are mounted from the left. This to heft weapons over the saddle.
well unless its good natured 'fun' play followed by some fierce protecting of each other to declare enough play now to others and snuggle pile afterwards ;)
I find it hilarious that every HFY story treat Australia as a death continent among the Death world of Earth, which to be honest is not exactly wrong, just find it amusing.
If you cut an Earthworm in half you will get a dead Earthworm! Sometimes one half will survive, depending on where it was cut. Leave Earthworms in one piece please 😉
I'm vehemently opposed to interstellar pet adoption. It's a myth that cats aren't plotting for World domination. The Cat Distribution System shows a clear pattern toward that end. Humanity has evolved some coping strategies, in dealing with cats. However, if the system goes interstellar, there's no telling where it might end. For one thing, any alien species from bunny size and down will be goners.
I can imagine the reaction the aliens would have to some of the more ... exotic pets. I mean you have the mundane pets like dogs, cats, parrots, parrakeets, corvids, and rodents. The exotic pets like constrictor snakes, ant farms, various insect tanks. Then you have venomous snake handlers, spider and scorpion owners, big cat tamers, and even bear wranglers. Not to mention everyone who raises the various megafauna (horse breeders and cattle ranchers, camel riders, elephant tamers, ect.).
@@Shadowkey392 dunno, didn't really say in this story. However some of the larger Nepenthes have been known to eat small birds, lizards and small rodents. The flytraps have been known to eat small frogs.
If you were truthful, you would show them used as soldiers and cadaver dogs, search and rescue, and the cats as therapy animals, and how their population reduction led to the black plague.
Considering the level of bacteria and other microbial life that all of our species have on their skin, this would be an incredibly dangerous show and tell...

Those wriggly bitches have 10 hearts...they will be fine
Depends on the species. But yeah, cutting animals in half isn't a nice thing to do.
Please don't cut the earthworms...it agitates the graboids
I wonder how those aliens would respond to the pet rats I've been taking care of, especially the little grabby hands (so cute)

“It was just another boring experiment until the humans broke containment” would be a good start on one of these stories
A “deathworld” story where the aliens ARENT terrified/bewildered/fainting left and right? What is this!?
I'm surprised there were no tarantulas... The furry babys
