- New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates how to make Chocolate covered strawberries. You can customize these strawberries with your favorite toppings like nuts, cookies, or even the chocolate itself. This recipe is also adjustable to decorate 1 to 4 pounds of fresh strawberries. It's also great for Holiday's like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or even during the spring and summer months when strawberries are in season. It's refreshing, festive and absolutely delicious. Notes- You can place the strawberry over the chocolate and drizzle the chocolate over the strawberry after dipping instead of drizzling it on the parchment paper as shown in the video. You can also add gel paste food coloring to the white chocolate if you want to change it to a different color. Don't use liquid food coloring as that will cause the chocolate to seize if you add too much of it. Hope this helps. Thanks!
It does help. And can you do this with summer fruits like cherries and peaches, though I'm not sure if peaches and chocolate mix. I know Bosc pears and white chocolate taste great together (that was a creation of my own making). You can most definitely use bananas as a substitute.

I wish more people knew that homemade candy and chocolate-covered treats are better and less expensive than the store-bought stuff. While sometimes it's better to do store-bought if you don't have the time, patience, or money for it, something about creating bonbons/truffles from scratch or chocolate strawberries or homemade Reese's cups feels very liberating.
