    As a new 3D printer owner this video is probably the single most important one I've viewed out of a few dozen so far. The actual printer part is mostly common sense. The Cura side is more subtle and this is very helpful.

    Nicely done sir. The pace was just right for a tutorial. I gave Cura a try with my Aquila with mediocre results. (particularly with printing functional parts with holes) I've tried other peoples profiles and still no luck. Cura works great with my FLSUN Q5. I'm quite confident that you won't find a better print on the Aquila than one sliced by Voxelmaker. It's amazing. Maybe I'll give Cura another try after watching part 2. Thanks!

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the thorough response and giving the tutorial a shot. I have had similar results with my Eryone ER20, where SuperSlicer just gives me the better prints. So I've been giving SuperSlicer a shot and really liked it, but then I started running into issues using SuperSlicer for my printers that have Klipper installed lol. So maybe it's a good idea to have a working knowledge of more than one slicer. Part 2 is really the meat of the slicer so it should be good!

    Hi, I wanted to add my printer to the ultimaker cura software but I can't find the voxelab x3 plus model, how can I do it???

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  2 дні тому +1

      For some 3d printers there is no "known" printer already setup within Cura. The best you can do is find one similar to it and then edit some parameters to make it match. I don't know enough about the Voxelab X3 plus model, but if most of the "guts" of the printer are the same as the Aquila (which it appears they are) you can follow the instructions in this video, just change the bed size and max height to match the X3. You'll also need to add one like to the start gcode, which would be G29 right after the G28. If you need more instructions let me know and I can help.

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  5 місяців тому

      Bob that's a great question and I'm not sure how much detail I went into on that with this video. After you've sliced the print you want to export the file to the SD card you will be printing from. Of course you would have needed to already connect the SD card into the supplied USB adapter and plug that into your computer. Afert the file is exported to that SD card it should be ready to print. Take the SD card, plug it into the printer , and then you should have it selectable under the Print menu. Let me know if this cleared anything up for you.

    Hello, would you recommend using the slicing sofware that now comes with the Voxellab Aquila v2, VoxelMaker? I ran an stl file thru it and it was off center on the bed and often tells me my print isnt on the bed, when i correct it, it ruins the print.

    • @PrintsLeo3D
      @PrintsLeo3D  7 місяців тому

      I've never really used VoxelMaker outside of a few trial prints. If you feel comfortable with that software than Cura is the next logical step, as VoxelMaker is a branch of Cura.
      Right now I have been highly recommending OrcaSlicer, as it is fast, the UI is nice to look at , and it includes a lot of built in calibrations.

      Happy to help! I will say newer uses tend to gravitate towards Cura. It makes sense because everything is easy to understand and compact. OrcaSlicer I think is a better slicer overall but it might be harder to get into initially. That all being said trying a few different slicers as you start, and getting a feel for what works for you, might be the best solution.

    By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

    • @PrintsLeo3D

      Lilly, that's perfectly fine! Cura is a method to create the gcode files that you can put into your SD card , and then insert into your printer. While Cura does have 'wired connection' capabilities, it's normally just used as a method to 'slice' your models and turn them into gcode. Yes it does for the most part. The D1 id a direct extruder, so you'll need to adjust the retraction distance (to something like 0.5mm) so you don't pull the filament back the same length you would ad a Bowden. Other than that it should all line up.
