I think the third kick drum is for when Mike moves to his second throne.

Love the reaction! That's the awe we all feel 😂 Beside seeing them together again and Night Terror being a great song, I'm so amazed by the production! It's one of the best I've ever heard 😍 The clarity of sound and of each instrument is mind blowing 🤯

Totally amazing instrumentation. 🤘😆🤘 That's quite the drum kit he has, it has everything but the kitchen sink.🥁 Or was that also in there somewhere?😜

Your go to lunch comment reminded me that back in the day, a fan made a computer generated commercial for the James LaBrie “action figure,” that came with a shovel, the joke being was James was off stage digging holes to pass the time during the long instrumental sections (I think).

They keyboard not only swivels but also tilts! Was really scratching my head when I saw them live a few weeks ago :D

@@TempleMusicAcademy Indeed, for example at 9:41 -> it's tilted slightly. In live performance it goes even more :D

    More unisono: Periphery - Wildfire
fun fact: one of their guitarists (Jake Bowen) is Petrucci's nephew

"I need a cigarette." May be the best way to sum up what happens after listening to something DT does, especially this new track!

"Let me know if you know any more songs that have unison lines"
Just about every single Dream Theater song lol and in those with Portnoy even the drums play unison with the other instruments, which to me is the most mind-boggling part about the whole thing considering drums are not supposed to play lead instrument lines.

John Petrucci's signature guitars are not called JP anymore. For the last 10 years his signature guitars have been called Majesty. The Majesty guitars are his first signature model with a through neck design. They're a modified strat shape that has a shortened lower horn and deep neck cutouts on the top and bottom. I definitely suggest you check them out but they are very pricey although well worth it.

Dream Theatre. One of those bands that you don't "really" like. And then you realize you only own 8 of their albums. There is a lot of quality there.
Labrie can let down the side from time to time, but he mostly holds it together.
This particular song certainly calls back to a lot of their classics. i also hear some TSO in this one too.

If you're really looking for an unfair amount of talent in one band, you should check out Dirty Loops (if you haven't already).
As for unison lines, Haken. Definitely Haken.

Petrucci actually has TWO signature Ernie Ball Music Man models...the JP series you were thinking of, and the Majesty series (which he is playing here). I believe this is a 20th anniversary model, so it's a bit more snazzy.
Jordan Rudess has keyboards that both rotate and tilt.

I was waiting for Dave Mustaines vocal in the intro.
It also sounds a little inspired at that point by the "Davidian" riff.
The playing is really good - but the singer is too clean sounding, and too session-musician backing-band generic.
Ill have to check out more by these guys - where is the best place to start please?
Cheers for a good video 😊

The Live at Budokan show is a great performance to check out - has a little bit of everything from ‘89-‘04. But I always recommend getting the last studio album they put out (although, the new one is coming in a few months) to see where they are, ≈40 years in & *then* go back to Images & Words & go chronologically forward, just to get an idea of how far they’ve come since the early days. There will be some records that you’ll like more than others, but it’s all worth hearing, IMO.
