Tax Expert Anil Harish| Impact Of Changes In Capital Gains| Budget Analysis| Buzz By The Bay 60

Now that the budget has been presented the big question is how it is going to impact the common man? Is it going to allow Indians to make substantial progress or not. To demystify and decode some of the measures and provisions , it is a pleasure to have with us on buzz by the bay renowned and eminent tax expert Mr Anil Harish, managing director of the esteemed law firm DM Harish and co. He says, We’ve seen many such budgets in the past. There are 99 changes proposed in the IT Act this budget. Referring to the changes in capital gains tax wuth immediate effect he says, Changes in capital gains tax with immediate effect he says, People selling properties held for more than two years will be impacted by removal of indexation. Up till now capital gains on sale of property was calculated after deducting indexed costs, to account for inflation. Now that practise has been done away with. Me Anil Harish says changes should not be made with retrospective effect as that creates problems.
