I just got into your channel from searching about ileostomy bag info, as I had a full colectomy a couple weeks ago (after 20 years of Crohn's did enough inflammation damage to my colon that the cancer was starting, so it was time to get rid of it). I'm still getting used to getting the bag and how to get a good, reliable seal from it (and of course my skin around the stoma is super irritated right now since it's all new and my skin isn't used to it yet and I'm still learning how to do everything just right to keep it sealed well). I just want to thank you for your channel, as it has been quite helpful in both details about how to live with this "new normal" and also a glimpse into your life to see that it's still a full life with this thing. I honestly think life is going to be much better once I get used to the bag, because it's going to give me so much control and time back that I didn't have with Crohn's. Have a speedy recovery, and thank you for all that you do to help newbies like me get acclimated to this life!

I am so with you. I had this done in 2007. I had intense internal bleeding maggie I was not aware of stuff like video games. I was in the hospital for a month many times. Maggie I'm blessed I had these things happen because it has made me who I am.

I am also getting a proctocolectomy in the next month. I have already had my large intestine removed because it was so diseased it took 3 surgeries to get it all but I'm having the rest of my rectum taken out and everything sewn up as well because of all the problems I'm still having. Had a j pouch that failed and was removed and I've had my ostomy for 7 years now and I'm ready to just get everything taken out and sewn up. I am interested to see how your experience is and i hope your surgery goes well and recovery is as quick as possible! Love your videos, you are an inspiration to many!☺

I love your refresher bag Maggie. The main thing I can't be without in hospital is face cream. Omg I literally crack without it it's so hot and dry. And def with you on the sweaty pillows. Can't wait to see your upcoming video

I've had a colectomy and now have a J-pouch. Unfortunately, I'm in a small category of people that now has chronic pouchitis. Still, it's a better life for myself, my husband, and my children than what we were dealing with with my severe UC. Praying so much for a speedy recovery! I hope this part of your journey is exactly what you need it to be!

Your list is excellent. I would just add two points. An extension cord is needed for the reasons you stated for your long charger cord. Also, make sure the pillow case you bring for your pillow is NOT WHITE. You don't want your own pillow some how getting mixed up with the hospital pillows.

wow this was very educative and informative about the disease, it is never taught so hearing it from an individual going through it is very moving. You are so genuine and i know all will be very good for you!

Hi Maggie! Hope you’re doing well and healing well! So I’m a longgg time viewer. I feel like it’s been 8 years or so. Lol I have Crohns. I know you will be editing and making videos about the surgery but if you feel comfortable could you make an in depth video about the Barbie butt part. Every video I watch about it kinda skips over exactly how it feels or what it’s like and all the gory details. I’ve been told from doctors that this could be my next surgery?!? Anyways your videos are awesome and they have helped me thru some dark days. Being 33 and suffering for close to 15 years I’ve tried social media as an outlet to get Info and your videos by far have helped. Plus you’re just a doll! Keep being yourself and a true hero in the community ❤️

Thank you so much for watching! I absolutely plan to! I'd love to show what it actually looks like because when I searched, I couldn't find any barbie butts! I couldn't find anything on how to sit or sleep, so I definitely will! ♡

10ft chargers FTW! It’s brilliant in hotels as well because there’s often not enough outlets by the bed!

Maggie I'm bringing my switch. And my supplies as well. They made me take an enema the day of surgery I had to do that fleets phospholesoda to clean out. Now I have to have back surgery. I want to play ring fit adventure but maggie I'm not sure if I'll be as amazing as I normally will be.

I hope your surgery went well Maggie!! First week is always the worst once you get on top of the pain and moving around you'll be as good as new! Hope by Christmas!! I packed the exact same stuff for my permanent ileostomy surgery minus the bags because I didnt have one yet. I noticed we even take the same birth control lol I just recently had testing to check if I'm healing from my surgery (a pouchoscopy, bone density test, and and MRI/MRE) wont know the results for about a week but heres to hoping we will both one day be in remission!🤞 hang in there girl!🤗💕
