After watching this, I decided to pull out my old Kamvas pro 16 and see if the new drivers would fix the issues that I had a few years ago. For the most part they have been fixed and I am really excited to get back to sketching digitally again! Thank you so much for reigniting my joy for drawing again!
I did menion that in my video but I work on a Mac - the beta driver bugged up my tablet and I had to exchange it. It works by default on PC's for now - Borodante has a great review of it where he demonstrates it.
Hii please explain . So for Mac the touch screen doesn’t work ? I need advice and the Huion team is still in vacation :/. I have a MacBook Air M1 256gb with 8gb RAM 😬. I bought it in 2024. How does one know if the 16 4k pro plus Huion and the 19 pro 4k (which I want bc of the newer tech ) will run well with my M1? I’m wondering if the 4k huions need to be scaled . I don’t know what it really means but I’ve seen comments about the letters and icons and layers in CSP being really small. ?

Interesting comparison! What struck me is that usually, reviewers find the Huion display somewhat softer because of strong anti glare coating of the glass, and the XPPen display sharper and crisper. Your review is the first one to suggest otherwise. Edit: Never mind - others already adressed this issue, and you responded to them.
Watching this while using my trusty 6 year-old XP-PEN 15.6. The only thing I really feel like I'm missing on is the laminated screen and minimum pressure, other than that I'm very happy with how long it's lasting considering how much I use this thing.
You’re the first I’ve read has had it in constant use for more than just a couple years. I’ve been mostly worried about durability. I have a wacom cintiq 16” which has lasted for 6 years now and I don’t see too many reviewers doing it about durability
@@brandondelgado7731 I'd guess that majority of reviewers don't go on to use these tablets and just stick with their cintiqs/ipads so they can't really attest to durability. I'd prefer to be using a cintiq but I can't justify spending +1000 to improve certain features when this one cost me 350 in 2018 :)
I combine the CSP Tab Mate with my stylus, so I barely use my stylus' buttons, maybe just the Hand tool and the Undo. It's because the pose you need to do with the tablet and the position of the keyboard was very hurtful for me, and the Tab Mate saved my bones and muscles from more bending out of shape pains 😅 I'm saving for the HUION though.
If you're looking to buy a display tablet right now, please check reviews that have used it at least for a year. I bought an xp-pen about two years ago and while it works wonderfully, the pen tips wear out so easily, it will leave considerable damage on the display protector... or even worse the screen itself. So trust me, you want to know if you can be happy with the tablet on the long run.
The xp-pen in the review is etched glass, so no screen protectors to damage here. A pack of nibs is ~13$ or less so I don't think that's a huge dealbreaker.

I think the (finger) touch function with the Kamvas pro 19 is the biggest factor in price difference. And, this is why I will choose Huion over XPpen (those models as of 2024) - Zoom and rotate canvas with touch is much more intuitive in my opinion. One thing that I don't like about both devices is the USB-C placement. We all know that our cellphones USB ports will become loose after a year of plug/unplug everyday...now, I don't expect to do that with a pen display everyday. but they should come up with a sturdier solution for pro-consumer devices ( great exemple: XPpen Artist Pro 24 Gen2 - They have a protected USB connection system with a back plate. major +1 for that). Same thing is happening in the pro audio world...selling a pro midi keyboard with UBS-C, this thing could snap at any time during a show/on the road.

I haven’t tried smaller Cintiqs personally, only my 27” 12-year-old one, but it compares excellently - of course there will be differences but nothing that’s a deal breaker

Hey Adam, thanks for the comparison! I've noticed XP-Pen's X3 Pro Slim Stylus seems to be using nibs similar to Huion's nibs rather than those of the regular X3 Pro Smart/Roller. Would you happen to know if Huion's nibs are compatible with XP-Pen's X3 Pro Slim? XP-Pen seems to be selling Felt nibs for their slim stylus only in certain regions and who knows when they'll be widely available. In the meantime I'm looking for an alternative as sometimes certain nibs are a perfect fit between two or more brands.

I've been using wacom for years and really got used to its pen sensitivity, but I might have to switch as wacom's screen tablets are too overpriced for me. I wish there would be a non-touch version of the huion at a cheaper price!
how would huion's feel compared to let's say cintiq 22 or 16 (not the pro)? I'm split between choosing what would be better. usage would be for digital painting and inking.
I have both these tablets. The huion's screen is slightly softer. I don't use the word "blurry" because I think it doesn't describe it correctly or at least exaggerates it. It doesn't bother me (some people really don't like it) and it's not an extreme difference but it is noticable. As I draw with it, I stop noticing it. Many reviewers comment on it and use that same "soft" description.

That's probably due to the screen protector they add in the factory. I took it off on my xp pen 15.6 a couple years ago and the image is much clearer now, the downside is that you got a glass feel when drawing
@byu2 the huion kamvas pro 19 doesn't have a screen protector. The softness comes from the etched glass surface which provides an anti glare treatment. A slight softness is normal for AG treatments because they work by dispersing light. The specific treatment used in this tablet just has a bit more than normal.
@@dhimankalita1690 I still think the Kamvas Pro 19 is the better choice. The drawing performance is better due to the new Huion PW600 pen series compared to the XP-Pen X3 Pro pen series. The PW600 has a consistently wider pressure range in my testing. I cover both these tablets on my channel if you want more details.
Great video! Two quick questions... Do either the Huion or XP-Pen drivers allow you to create on screen buttons like Wacom? Also, do either allow you to enable touch ONLY for the on screen buttons (like Wacom)?
From what I can see, the express menu button is the only way I’ve seen to have on - screen buttons, I’m not sure otherwise, nothing advertised about it
Neither of the mini keyboards support pressing and holding multiple buttons on the mac. Just something to keep in mind if you’re like me and assign CMD Alt and Shift to buttons. The Huion keydial accepts a single press of two buttons but releases the first button immediately, so no CMD Alt dragging etc. Unless you assign the various combinations to buttons. It works on Windows, though. Wacom develops for mac first but these companies develop for Windows and Android.
For huion being sharper, I have the 16 inch gen 2 xp pen right now, and considering selling that and getting this 19 inch 4k one. It's because I found it's blurrier than my 1080p monitor, even though it's 2.5k. Do you think this one has a similar issue, or is the huion being sharper just a tiny thing? Is it visibly blurry? I'm also suspecting mine being blurry could be due to shipment issues (the screen had popped off and I had to pop it back in)
Hi need help :D I'm currently using an old model of Huion 24-inch and checking for 3rd gen of the same size but they haven't released it yet. I'm not sure about the 19-inch screen since I used to have a big one. Do you guys have any comment on that side, what do you think about the size? Oh, and people say the screen feels way too smooth, is it similar to Cintiq Pro?
I noticed there was no mention regarding refresh rate in this review. Does that mean both displays here are 60Hz? Does that also mean that 60Hz is considered fine for drawing, i.e. 120Hz would be an unnecessary expense with negligible meaningful art benefit? I'm mainly asking because I'm currently deliberating between iPad Air vs Pro.
I have a cintiq 22 touch from 2018 I really dont like the bulkiness of it, and Im thinking about selling it to buy one of these... but Im hesitant bc of the quality. Would I really feel a difference I honestly think I will but in a good way, the cintiq22 feels a bit old now. Lots of people would like that bc of brand but I dont :P
I use the huion 24 pro and my issue is it has the rainbow effect on the screen which I hate. The 22 inch one I had before didn't have it. I feel like someone who doesn't draw thought the rainbow effect was good on monitors but its terrible. If i want more resistance I'll use a felt nib. Still I prefer using these devices to cintiq as cintiq while it has pen rotation feels clunky and out of date.
I upgraded my Huion tablet to activate the touch screen on Mac, the tablet is unusable like you said, it is a brand new tablet and I didnèt even get to try it. I'm contacting the support to try getting a new unit.
I got the kamvas pro 19 for a bargain (700 dollars brand new including taxes in EU). I must say.. after using Wacom for most of my career as Art director and 3D artist, these new ones are insanely good. They butcher my old personal wacom 22 (1080p version) hands down in every metric. This will be my daily driver at home from now on and i actually look forward to using it. If i was to ask for anything more, it would be a straight 20 inch screen and 120hz. But i suppose with 120hz, it would have to use fans. My first screen drawing tablet was a Huion back in 2017 but it was horrible. To see Huion and its competitors get this good is nothing short of amazing and a great thing for professionals and hobbyist around the world that can't stomach Wacoms extortionate pricing. Don't get me wrong, i love Wacom products... but i just can't justify the price of 4000 dollars for a screen tablet.

A couple years ago I spent a good amount of money to get a 2nd-gen 16 inch Huion pro drawing tablet. In less than six months, I had issues appear where the screen went pink around the edges. Huion didn’t do anything for me. They refused to acknowledge a problem, and I was forced to sell it to somebody else, fully acknowledging the issue. I will never buy another Huion product, ever. To the contrary, I have had several XP-Pen drawing tablets and I’ve never had a single issue with any of them. I have wireless ones and they were just as well. The drivers are fantastic and are constantly updated and are even available on Linux.
I don't understand why you didn't mention the advantages of the huion touch screen. Or in the final pros and cons of each. To me that is the most important difference, because the rest of the features are almost the same. It's very strange to omit something like that.
As a consumer I don't trust Huion , I have bought from them a tablet from the 16-inch series that has had a software issue regarding the cursor placement in relation to the stylus ever since it's release and it still hasn't been fixed
I have a Huion Kamvas pro 24 QHD Ver, coming from an old wacom cintiq 13hd, I won't recommend anyone to buy Huion. Had 2 defective units I had to replace, customer service was pretty bad. Now I'm 4 years of usage and it's doing the job, big screen and decent res for a nice budget but tbh releasing the 4k version just a couple months after my purchase was a kick in the gut. Just my PoV, Wacom's expensive as hell but I'd prefer a lower tier wacom rather than a huion

Same . I'm so confused because the vid I've watched mention huion image quality as blurry but here it's the opposite.

XP pen is totally sharper, but the pen performance is way better on huion, XP pen still makes those short wobbly line.
Not sure, from my eyes the Huion felt sharper for sure
Hmm, seems to be a general opinion - I’ll have to do more tests. Perhaps they’re both closer and this is more subjective

The sharpness of Huion is blurry compare to Xppen. Teoh Yie che reviewed it with side to side comparison between the two.

That is indeed the reason for the price difference. Everything else is pretty much equal.
As a consumer I don't trust Huion , I have bought from them a tablet from the 16-inch series that has had a software issue regarding the cursor placement in relation to the stylus ever since it's release and it still hasn't been fixed
How could you not mention the fact the Huion has TOUCH? That more than justifies it's higher price and blows the xp pen out of the water
I have a Huion Kamvas pro 24 QHD Ver, coming from an old wacom cintiq 13hd, I won't recommend anyone to buy Huion. Had 2 defective units I had to replace, customer service was pretty bad. Now I'm 4 years of usage and it's doing the job, big screen and decent res for a nice budget but tbh releasing the 4k version just a couple months after my purchase was a kick in the gut. Just my PoV, Wacom's expensive as hell but I'd prefer a lower tier wacom rather than a huion
