OMG Nicole!!! Was so pleasantly surprised to see you open my package during filming 😁. Just my way of saying thank you for all that I am learning from you. Not to mention....the entertainment. You are a delight 💜
You are also part of the value in the flowers you sell. I bet you bring sunshine to your customers with every bouquet you make! Thanks for another great video 😊
I did a search for Flower Farms in NY and learned that there's a flower farm about 5 minutes away from me! So if Catalpa Flower Farms is reading this I just want to say Hi Neighbor! Happy to hear Gina is on social media. I'm going to find her right now.
You make me sooo happy when I watch your videos! Ican't do much anymore because I have 'lupus', But I sure can feel all the joy and enthusiasm you have and that does it for me. Blessings to you and your 'farm family'. Thats Brad Pitt, kids, dogs, cats, chickens, other pets I dont know about.
I have 4 kitties and 2 dogs and no one messes with any flowers except Gizzy which is my handicapped kitty she eats everything including styrofoam balls so we have to watch her like a hawk. I just brought all my pepper and tomatoes in and locked in the bathroom and I was in there she pushed the door open and made a beeline for my pepper plant! Little stinker. Caught her in time! Holy 🌼 daffodils how beautiful!!!
And now it is stuck in my head - and will be "for the longest time"..ohh ohhh ohhh oooh. So happy to see how you do your CSA.. So much new flower language I heard tonight -Bud tight, color cracked, floater ( well a new meaning that is).. Perfect timing with the Zinnia TV Preview - I hope you will talk about how you start them and do you do them in soil blocks as well.. etc. I will be tuned in looking for the ZTV episode.
I was amazed when my sweet peas survived a 21゚ night! Some of them had a lot more fillier damage than others but they started to send up more growth from the base And are doing perfectly!
Oh My Your going to be snap crazy... I'm watching as I move my seedlings from heat mat to lights.. AGAIN.. lol.. Its my first year seed starting and I am loving it. I feel like my 9 year old is jealous of these plants.. (So much time) I told her to help me.. She declined. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND CONTENT! Can't wait to see more!
Wow that is a lot of pricking out of snaps! At the public garden where I tend the flower garden, if we don't get to prick out and grow on annuals (it always happens), I go ahead and prick out directly to the garden and they come through just fine. FWIW in case you run out of time and want to experiment. ; )
I have learned, laughed and enjoyed all your wisdom in your videos. I'm planting my first potential cut flower garden and getting bulb beds for Fall ready. It is overwhelming but your bright and shiny energy lifts me up as I get my adventure into flowers going. Thank you for being so open and real!
This is so great! I'm loving catching up on some of your videos, but Gina is 20min from me. I'm a big gardener too, so I'll have to go see her, and you this summer :)
p.s. THANK YOU for beautifying our world and sharing your positivity, energy and cheer on these videos. I come here every day after watching the news to lift me out of the ditch of despair that media drags me into :)
Can’t wait to see how you saved your tomatoes! I think I might have early blight on my mortgage lifter tomatoes! 🥺 so tonight I sprayed the stems and leaves with baking Soda, Castile soap and water! 🤞🤞 Love you farm and channel! Your Daf’s are gorgeous!! Keep up the tremendous work! Love watching you! I hear you right now about being stretched in different directions, spring before the last frost IS insane GO time! Yikes! So many plants so many hours to out in to reach our dreams!!
The chum bucket!!!! Yes yes yes!!! Every time I use my fish emulsion it reminds me of the seals at the zoo! 🤢 so glad I’m not crazy. 🤣 love your videos! I’m learning a lot!
Your seedlings are a month old & I still haven't started mine here in Zone 5b. Hope I can get that done. We've been having a cold snap here too, so hope this spring warms gradually, & not suddenly hitting 80 degrees C. By the sounds that chicken is making, I hope she's not planning on feasting on your seedlings the minute you go back into the house! 🐔
I am so worried that my locality may not support anything other than 10 or 12.00 bouquets. 🤢🤢I really want to add tons of things besides flowers. I am selling at fsrmers markets so I may make up a.few larger bouquets at the higher price and give it a shot. Any tips? Also my dog kept trying to get into where he could smell the fish emulsion lol.
@@sharonjennings1282 I live in an area where things are sold pretty cheap as well but they are not going to be the quality that my flowers are going to be. Please do not lower your prices to where you do not make a good profit though. Sometimes you would be surprised what people are willing to pay when they learn that they are getting a better product. You are not competing with places like supermarkets in things that are getting their things wholesale, & shipped from overseas, and that are only lasting 3 days in a vase... Yours are going to be fresher and of better quality so that's like comparing apples to oranges. It's not the same product so you don't need to have the same price that they have. Also there are people out there that are willing to pay a premium for a product when they know that it is supporting a smalle local business. For example I go around multiple nurseries when I'm shopping for plants and if I find something at multiple nurseries I will go to the one that I know is ran by a family that buys is many things is possible locally... Even if it's at another town over & a little more expensive I'll l drive back to that 1 to buy my plants, Because I would rather support companies that try to keep the money local and support a local family rather than overseas, Specially when it comes to other products/ companies that are maybe being manufactured with slave labor!
@@sharonjennings1282 Just don't thank you have to sell things at a lower price to try to gain customers because all your doing is putting a lower value and if you ever try to raise that price without a good reason it's gonna be extremely hard to justify it. There not going to see it as your raising it because you need to make a profit because you weren't making a profit the year before there going to see it as your just trying to make more money... They are going to think back to that price from last year and feel like they shouldn't pay more than that. I used to have a homemade candle business and I waz basically giving away the candles at a extremely cheap price because I wanted people to try them and know that they are worth the higher price that I was actually wanting for them but when I tried to raise the price than no one wanted to pay it. And I didn't understand because there were other people with products that weren't as good as mine selling for even more money.
Funny, Gina and I live quite close! I'm Cedarville and she's Mohawk. That's neat. Can't wait to see more posts from her, I am always a few weeks behind up here on the Mountain! Love watching your videos 💜
Thank you for this video. I needed a good laugh after watching a depressing movie, "Nomadland." I check my tulips often and yesterday noticed some color crack on the yellowy orange ones. I'm worried the bunnies are also keeping an eye (or body) on them as some looked like something sat on a few of them. Time to sprinkle Repels-All. Is it possible to have too many snaps? But the open shelves next to the stove, mine too. 😀
I "dumped" quite a lot of my seeds this year..including basils and others. It was time consuming to seperate them but wow I got many more seedlings than soil blocking. I used the black Hefty "take out" containers and had really good luck.
Won’t you always be starting seeds in order to succession sowing? That is the part I struggle with. It’s such a juggle to be in all those places at the same time. Thanks
