Looking beautiful babes! I even love the hair.😊😊wow! In South Africa we don't have Egusi but also have our traditional meals. One time I made dough and baked homemade bread for my Nigerian Friend and she and her family couldn't believe it. They actually thought it was cake and they made Ching-Ching (my spelling might be incorrect) for me. Gotch! I enjoyed it. It's always nice learning about other Countries and tasting food from different parts of the world.
Sorry Antoinette, you couldn't trick me this time. I made sure I ate first before watching the video because usually at the end I am feeling hungry. Viewing such sumptuous, appetising meals and not being able to sample them is not easy. Good video, I have always been hearing about Egusi soup in movies, so now I have a better idea. Thanks for revealing your secrets.
I didn’t toast the egusi 😉I just blended with the skin and sieve. You can toast if you want to, I just skipped because the juice looks better when you don’t toast(it looks really white) and I feel like the toasting is used by most people to ease the pounding, but with a blender you can go straight 🤩🤩🤩
I personally like it with a little more of the sawa leaves than what you have. You can barely see the leaves 🍃/ plasas on yours. It looks yummy tho. I waa looking for what to cook tomorrow and i think i found it.
New subscriber. Congratulations! I'm seeking to connect with my Sierra Leonean roots and enjoyed your video. Would you please share why some Egusi soup is red and some is cream color? What makes it different and how does it impact the taste? Thanks so much!
Hey dear, thank you so much. So there’s egusi soup that is made with palm oil/red oil so automatically becomes red. This recipe is without red oil. Also, both taste good but you know sometimes you don’t feel like having oil. Hope this answers the question. Thanks for watching 👏🏼
Congrats on everything girl!! Your hair looks awesome. That food , man it’s looking super great. I’m going to try this recipe over the weekend. Wish me luck. By the way the music was popping!.. What’s the name of the song? I need to play it while I cook.. Lol.❤️
@@BeautyUncut1 Yes some people do that in Sierra Leone as well. That’s a lot of work 🤩🤩So when you go to the market they have the one with skin and without skin. The good thing abt the one without skin is you just blend and pour into the put, no need to sieve.
My boyfriend is from Sierra Leone so I’m tryna impress him and learn how to cook his African dishes from his country. Can you teach us how to make some pepper crabs
I'm so glad an egusi soup w/o palm oil! Palm oil has a flower perfume fragrance taste, I feel like it shouldn't be consumed but used for cosmetics, and they do. It doesn't taste good for ANY food!
Sorry, where do you live? Bcoz I believe you’ve not had the real palm oil. Real African Palm oil tastes good and it has nothing like flower perfume fragrance. It’s used for some cosmetic products yes, but even olive oil is used in some cosmetic products as well, but that doesn’t mean olive oil shouldn’t be eaten though.

@@antoinettegeorge7267 is the egusi seed are those pumpkin seeds?
@@janelleflagg7154 No please, it’s from the Egusi gourd/melon, it’s a kind of watermelon but the fruit itself is not edible, only grown for the seeds.
So happy you got monetized 🤗

How many cups of Egusi did u used
Another method of deshelling egusi I was going to ask if you cook egusi with the skin in salone.
No dear, we don’t cook with the skin, we pound/blend and then sieve out the skin. We then use the juice to cook.
@@antoinettegeorge7267 interesting and faster too,we pill the skin before hand in Nigeria.
