As someone who carries, I go out of my way to avoid any confrontation and was involved in a case of road rage recently. My number one goal was to put as much distance between myself and the other driver. In light traffic, I was able to out maneuver the other driver and get away from him. Having said that, if I can't avoid someone and that someone reaches into my vehicle. I will consider that a deadly threat. Your point of not knowing what someone is capable of is spot on. I've seen many keyboard tigers over the years talk tough. Maybe they are maybe they aren't.

I don't know about other states. But in Texas, where I live, if you initiate or even participate in road rage and are carrying a firearm, it's automatically upgraded to a felony. No get out of jail free card, no collecting $200 when you pass Go.

Got stalked by one Road Rager. Saw at least two people in the car and expected them to be armed (I live in the Southern California area, where it's hard to get a legal permit for a firearm, so we have high crime and a huge problem with illegal firearms), so I drove over to a nearby Sherriff's station, pulled up to *right* in front of the building, and man, you should have seen the stalker zoom out of there!
