Awesome video dude. I have been looking to do this repair myself. Saw your post on the MPC One Facebook page and came straight to check the video out! Thank you
I just got a new One+ and the headphone jack is already cutting out with movement. After watching your video, I'm not so afraid to do the work. Thank you for posting this!
Good video, opening it up! Would love to see you go through with doing a custom build open source mpc. Could also order some custom pcb board, re-solder and rehouse the mpc parts while keeping the mpc OS software for a prototype version.
I need to learn about this kind of stuff. I would have the volume knob in the front, or a set of inputs in the front. It always felt weird controlling those from the back.
@@DaxWinston apparently so. I had never delved too deeply into the specs of the One since I had scooped up the Live 2. I assumed certain specs they both shared were consistent. I have a pair of cans that have a detachable cord where one end has the 3.5 mm adapter and the other end has the 1/4 adapter. Whenever I use that pair of headphones for the Live, I always have to use the 1/4 adapter to plug into the device. I don't understand why that feature wasn't included with the One (well, outside of cost cutting).
@@DaxWinston - I mean yeah, it's a $2 part, but the MPC One is literally built-to-cost. Multiply that $2 part by a production run of 100,000 units, and they saved $200,000 making them, which is not a small amount.
KO? Also, sounds like an issue I had with a second MPC I have purchased second hand a little while ago. Is there no audio at all? Not even if you wiggle the jack? You can see that mine also had some repair job done on the headphone jack. The capacitor blue and they attached a much beefier one
Well that's not good. Tried opening the thing up? Checking if the headphone jack has a blown capacitor? Cuz if it does, then it's an easy fix. What about back audio? Still got main monitor our working? How much you selling it for? I'm in Canada.
Dang, My MPC One headphone jack went out the first week I was working with. I do not trust in any of the local repair technical engineers. So, no repair lab near my city. I have to go and cross the border to Texas and find a Guitar Center or something
@@eddmtz4028 if you want to chance it, could try shipping it over to me and I'll install the mod. I'm in Canada though, so not sure what the cost of the round trip would be like.
bro 1.) drilled a hole in his mpc to 2.) install a new bigger headphone jack 3.) hella effort i don't understand 4.) to plug a big-jack to 3,5mm adapter
Yes but that 1/4" jack will survive a nuclear blast and I can use it with a 3.5mm adapter if I have ear buds. The original 3.5mm jack will break if you so much as sneeze at it funny.
@@TheConceptBoy yeah thats why i'm treating it like a baby. but if it breaks my plan is to use a stereo to mono adapter for main out. and if that breaks i'll connect my babyface.
Knowing how display interfaces are wired and having seen the inside of the unit, I gotta say that would be a pain in the ass. And it wouldn't really give you more room in the UI either, it'd just be the same UI but larger.
@DaxWinston thanks for your reply , I just discovered your channel the other day 😀 I like the mpc stand aswell , I'm hoping to build one myself in spring time , with speakers and external battery 🔋, that mod was great stuff though 👍 top notch
@DaxWinston for sure dude , I definitely keep a eye out to check out your design and it might give me some pointers and help on how to build it , I bought a jigsaw the other day so am looking for to my future stand / cabinet style project 😀, lucky enough I bought a super small mini amplifier to install with it , ok man cheers 👍

Hypothetically, anywhere as long as shipping is covered. I'm in Canada however so I don't know if it's worth the cost of shipping both ways alone.

8:06 Common sense AND a good look will show the exact pinout of the jack...It is just in order of the jack....From the case up SRT......

500 bucks? That is more than I paid for my One Plus new, 7 mths ago...
I didn’t realize the One/One+ didn’t have a 1/4 jack. I thought that was the standard for MPCs because the Live 2 definitely has it.
So there are even inconsistencies between releases too

I couldn't get any audio out of the front jack at all and just gave up on it. Currently selling it to get a KO MKII
