Trying to switch up my color palette. I find it hard to use other colors then the colors I am most drawn to. Do you like switching up your color palette?
Hi Cathy. I love the black/green mix, and the textures are great. I really like the faded charcoal lines. The pink makes the whole picture come even more alive. An absolutely beautiful painting.Thank you. Colin. :)
Hi Cathy, I am interested in your style, but new to your channel. I want to know what brand and kind of surface you are using; I did look in the description but didn't find it. Also could you list your colors, please? I've never thought of using a brayer; feel a palette knife allows more control. What do you think are the advantages? One suggestion - the photos that you post in the title listing directory are sometimes at a side angle rather than straight-on, making them harder to view. I really admire your intuition/instincts, work habits and progress! I'll be watching. Hope to hear from you.
Hi Rosa, Glad you are enjoying my videos. I'm using a 12x12 Daler-Rowney square spiral. The paper is sketchbook quality, but as long as I gesso it, I have no problems. I think it's 150g. I seldomly use ready made colors. I prefer to blend my own. The green would be yellow with a bit of black and the pick is red and white with a bit of blue if I remember correctly. I love the brayer, because it hardly gives me control. I post alot of the photos with different angles on my instagram. You might want to check it out. Have a wonderful creative day Rosa.

Cathy Mevik - Contemporary artist , I am always scared of it. But this pink and gold green with touch of Payne’s grey works like magic
