Walk with me - Zenkō-ji Temple in Nagano, Japan

Zenkō-ji is one the most important Buddhist temple in Nagano prefecture. It was founded in the 7th century, before Buddhism in Japan split into several different schools.
Zenkō-ji belongs to both the Tendai and Jōdoshū schools of Buddhism.
We entered the temple grounds from the back where the parking lots are located.
If you are visiting Japan and looking for a less crowded alternative to Sensō-ji in Asakusa (Tokyo) and don't mind a day trip to Nagano, Zenkō-ji is a perfect choice.
We visited the temple on April 10th, 2024.
