I love the Dodge muscle cars because they have kept the looks of the muscle car era. Dodge has always had the power from the factory didn’t require all those aftermarket parts to roll them down the road. The Mustang is also on the top of my list because of the iconic muscle car styling with raw power under the hood. I never thought the new style Camaro even came to the same game as Dodge and Ford. I am sure they are good cars I had a 69 Camaro and really enjoyed it but it had style. I can always tell what car is coming by the sound.

One being a former NHRA car that earned me 3 class championships and it also set 3 NHRA records for it's class. Even today, it turns high 9's on a 1/4 mile NHRA drag strip and it's street legal. One of my former NHRA AA/FF cars is at Don Garlits drag racing museum in Ocala FL. I drove that car at 200+ mph several times. I also own 4 street cars that have 450+ hp.

I'm a mustang guy but I love all those muscle machines...Mopar is on point with that exhaust note from the scat pack cars ...they sound awsome..mustangs however sound damn good as well and you don't even have to see the car to know its a mustang with that high rpm scream coming out the back end.

Funny thing is, in the mid-1960's there were raced-prepped but still street legal cars like the Hemi Coronet, Hemi Dart and Ford Thunderbolt that with naturally-aspirated engines could come close to matching the 1/4 mile times of these cars. Weird thing is, since they were rated (then) at gross horsepower, their horsepower ratings if taken at face value were considerably less than horsepower ratings of these cars. Which then begs the question, how with primitive carburetors and ignition systems did these old cars perform like they did?
Ok Assuming most of these high end modern muscle cars run say mid 10s or 11s, to get even the older muscle cars like COPO 427s 440 big blocks, Hemis etc there you had to fine tune the engine/carbs ,, suspension, good slicks, and have a great drag driver. Any decent driver could run one if these 8 speed supercharged autos in 1/4 mile with the technology employed. Also the handling and top end on modern cars blows the older cars away at 190 200 mph.
My muscle car has 612 bhp and 627 ft lbs of torque - and it’s super comfortable. My issue with American muscle cars is that they make your chiropractor and spinal surgeon rich. Mine is a 4 litre biturbo V8 that can be AWD or fully rear if I’m living on the edge. I spent my money on a car, not on massages.
