@Zedrik Allen Which is why the Japanese version is still better. Better difficulty balance. They made some changes to the US version which makes the game much, much harder.
Hearing the music from the Famicom version, instead of the NES version, is kinda like listening to music from a church organ, as opposed to a piano, making the music sound more effective.
I agree, just like the first four Dragon Quest/Warrior games. Koichi Sugiyama not only composed the game music but was a real life composer of classical orchestral music. He and K Nakamura worked together at enix, and if I'm not mistaken Nakamura also at least had a hand in producing music for Konami games if he wasn't directly responsible for creating it outright. I think he did create CV4's ost. He certainly did make the music for the first TMNT game by ultra & konami.
@@GTA2SWcity TMNT on the NES and Castlevania III were composed (in part) by Jun Funahashi (including "Beginning" and the boss themes), and Super Castlevania IV was scored by Masanori Adachi and Taro Kudo (the latter also did Axelay). Koichi Nakamura never worked for Konami. TMNT II on the NES was composed by Kozo Nakamura (not to be confused with Keizo Nakamura who worked on Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and X68000/Chronicles). Same last names, same initial, easy mistake to make. God knows there's still a ton of confusion out there about these things.
@@ManiacalForeigner Actually I appreciate it. Because crediting was cryptic as hell in the NES days. Not sure why the people of companies of early vidya weren't keen to put their names on things. Was there some rules about it or something?
@@GTA2SWcity Yeah, some companies at the time either made developers use nicknames or wouldn't allow them to be credited at all. No idea what the rationale behind it was, though. Some games actually had secret credits that you could only access with a cheat code, like Sonic 1.
+Mureeuh Renurdz yeah and hes extremely annoying I have only beaten CV 3 once legitimately because it starts you all the way back at the beginning of the level instead of at draculas throne when you continue. Only beat this consistently with save state at the throne. I did beat it once legitimately back in 09 though on the wii.
Oh yeah, ha ha, this is the "It's go time!" where you really begin to kick Dracula's ass. God this battle was downright crazy and this piece of music definitely fit that crazy atmosphere to a tee.
The loss of the Famicom version's music for this game was one of the consequences of Nintendo's policies in America. In America, all developers had to have their carts manufactured by Nintendo and couldn't manufacture their own, which meant that Konami couldn't put their VRC6 sound chip that made the Famicom version's music sound so much better in their carts, and instead, we had to have the NES renditions of the songs. The NES renditions aren't bad, but they're not as good as the VRC6 ones.
That isn't true. That rule initially existed but during the chip shortage of 1987 that restriction was dropped. The reason it wasn't used is because the way the chip worked wasn't compatible with the NES since it had a different read algorithm and Konami didn't want to spend the money redesigning the audio chip for that.
I always thought this track had a different mood than all the other ones. For some reason I associate it with Splatterhouse, especially the faster version.
This is what annoys me. Why in mother of god did Nintendo give americans and europeans a half assed Famicom. I don't think the disk system whould've hurt
Two zombie dragons brought me here
Nice reference.
Me too
A big battle indeed.
Yeaaaah
Those two zombies dragon I think they were the one in Castlevania 3, dracula x and SCV4 water dragon that got turn into zombies
Returned as a boss theme in Circle of the Moon :)
Soma Cruz Nathan vs Hugh,One of the best boss Battle in Castlevania series
Pretty much 90% of the music in CotM are remixes or arrangements from other games.
And as final boss theme in Grimoire of Souls
@@xBlaster Yes :)
When the tempo picks up,so does your tension
So true is like if you doing it on your last health and last life and if you failed, the world is Dracula’s
Song doesn't fail to tense you up.
Metal + Bach + Chiptune
Sound and music > Graphics.
And this is the proof.
But castlevania 3 at the time was one of the best looking games in the NES
That don't mean nothing now, brutha.

@@CaballeroDelAbismo Sunsoft in general was much better in graphics.
Castlevania 1 - Gameplay
Castlevania 2 - Rpg
Castlevania 3 - Graphics and Music
Wow. WHAT A DIFFERENCE between this and its American counterpart. This really gets your heart pumping in a way that the NES version fails to.
Well, it's okay to think that too. Until I discovered the Famicom version, I thought "Prelude" was the greatest intro ever for an NES game.
The US version is still good though
The NES version is still good just not as good as this Famicon version.
Okay sorry, no need to get defensive. :(

"how many fucking forms man"
Exactly 3
😂😂😂
epic final boss theme. Pure adrenaline
Alot of these old castlevania tunes should be remade with a real orchestra

Damn we need a remake of Castlevania 3
Yeah. It should handle multiple playable characters in a similar style to Bloodstained : Curse of the Moon.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - Julius Mode, that's something
0:42 comes that "oh shit" moment when you thought you defeated the boss
Love this theme when change the boss form.
This OST and the Gradius II sounds awesome
Dat acceleration on the second part: epicness at its fullest
Listen to the NES first and then this version. This completely blows it out of the water.
What a great Final Boss theme

Dracula turns into five headed monster, then to naked Greek god with a chicken head shooting lasers out of his face. Wow.

Yeah, they pulled out all the stops on that one.
*(with Dracula's voice*)Dracula:"What Did you just say !?"
Garfield Vikernes : His 5 headed forms is just like an Ectoplasm.
If you are grant. There is a way to avoid the ectoplasm. Just duck when it approaches. You wont get hit.
Lol it shows Alucard as old looking love those classic Japanese covers
In castlevania 3, he is. Symphony of the Night was a major design overhaul. This cover is entirely accurate to the game, for what it's worth
This is the most Metal song from Nintendo of all time.
Nope. Skate or die 2s title theme takes that title.
The moment when you thought you killed the boss:
Thx for posting this :)
I'd love a full orchestra remake of this
Contra Operation Galuga had this as a theme for the final boss. Of course, I'll always remember it as Dracula, Castlevania 3.
Awe inspiring music for a showdown with Dracula! Awesome!

I would like this song was a remix of Tekken Tag Tournament 3. That would be great for Kazumi (Devil Kazumi) and Jun (Unknown) as final bosses 👍👍👍
Listen great in Circle of the moon.
The artwork for the Castlevania games looks a lot like the artwork on Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.
The harder circle of the moon bosses

Hahah, I've thought the exact same thing! Wow.
Trevor/Ralph looks kinda like Luke Wilson here.
I don’t like a lot of the Famicom versions of these songs better than the NES counterparts, but this one works well.
