Enjoyed this video so much! My husband and I went to the @home maid cafe nearly two years ago, and had a very similar experience. We both really enjoyed the ambiance but also felt awkward. It is a weird combination of super cute and embarrassing moe-moe things. We had no problems eating there, despite extremely limited Japanese. The staff was very kind and many practiced their conversational English with us. Thanks for refreshing my memory! Glad y'all enjoyed it!

Recently i read a reddit post where they were asking these maid cafe workers what it's like to work there and the majority of them actually said it was super cringey and annoying. I'm sure that some of these people enjoy it and love working there but I'm also pretty sure that a good chunk of them hate it and just work there because there's nothing better.

Of course, I had fun but my partner loaded himself up with booze before and during the meal. Odd experience, but still worth it. However, the cost of it was a bit much. In your custom and country, they are in Japan so yours do not apply there. It is really frustrating when people apply their customs in another country and say it is wierd.
