❤❤❤❤❤ My Plum Paper planner. Quality product and their customer service is amazing. I love a company that's affordable but also nice and care about their customers. I had a horrible experience with customer service at Erin Condren for 2 planners costing nearly $200. Doesn't matter how expensive a product is, if customer service is crap...then I don't give them business. Thanks for the thourough and fair review! 🙌
I've used PlumPP for years! I use planner stamps and it doesn't bleed or shadow through. Stickers are easy to peel up because the paper has a slickness to it. But the stickers don't fall off unless you peel them up. EC covers fit on PPP, so that's what I use to change the cover options. I like having one planner for ALL my needs, so the add on sections help me have everything in one place ❤
This was a great comparison video! I switched from the EC petite daily to the PPP daily in January and it’s been so great. I customized the headers to fit my needs but didn’t add any additional pages. If there was a way to get a weekly spread before 7 daily pages I think it would be the perfect planner.
I knew you'd pick the Plum Paper from the beginning!! Ahh! I love it! I love the custom options. And am so happy you found the 'one' that's perfect for you!
I am so happy when I saw that this video came out today. I have been debating about an EC planner and a Plum Paper planner for weeks now. Right now, I can only afford to buy one planner for next year. Thank you so much for this video.
I love plum paper and it’s affordable I think since it very customizable. I found them last year and ordered my second one for my 6 month daily! So excited!
Looooooove the customization on the Plum Paper but any time I go to their website I get so overwhelmed with options. I also tried at some point to do the one in the Agendio website and quit halfway because on how overwhelmed. But this review helped a lot specially about the paper quality. Thanks!!!
I was sooo excited when I heard you mention plum paper! Their great planners that aren’t given enough love. I’m on my third-weekly. The first year I did what you did left it all blank. This year total customization. I use the weekly grid layout and love it . For my daily just went with the daily duo that’s one area of my life where I don’t have planner peace. I tend to be hard on my planner pages and have bleed thru depending on my mood I can get a little doddle nuts.
Nice comparision video! I use an A5 Plum homeschool planner, and love the paper. I bought a Daily Duo, but I think it's a whole lot of page for me in that size...and I don't need the timed schedule most days. Seriously considering trying the daily Plum in A5, since I already know I love it for homeschooling.
I love Plum Paper! The customization options are just unreal. Thank you for doing such a detailed video. I just checked out the goal planner, and I have to have it. Can’t wait to watch your next Plum Paper video!!
I'm going back and forth with customizing a Plum Paper Goal Planner or an Erin Condren Vision Journal to work on one specific project/goal. I also realized yesterday that I hosed up...I had it in my head that my current Erin Condren planner was a July to July so I ordered a new one with the new launch as a July to July. Then I realized my current planner is Jan to December so I didn't need a new regular planner yet. DOH! Blame it on lockdown brain. I'm considering sending the new planner back when I get it just because of that or using that new one as the specific project/goal planner only. Craziness. :) Thank you for the flip through on the Plum Paper.
@@rand0mgirly Sundays used to be my busiest days. At one time, I would get up in the morning to go to church before 9am. Church would be over around 1:30pm (nursery duty and lunch) when I'd rush to get to work from 2pm to 9pm. Then, when I stopped working Sundays, I had church activities, babysitting, shopping, WW meetings. Sundays were crazy. In fact, Sundays were the day I needed a planner most.
I have the A5 PPP in the daily with customizations but I punched it myself to put on discs. I absolutely love it. I use the meeting, fitness, gratitude, reflection, habit, and to do pages. I carry 3 months (past, current, and next). Great job on the comparison video. Thanks much.
Great review. I used to be a PPP girl, but I can't do the paper and I love the EC colors more. The EC paper grit is my jam and I love the coil options. Lastly, I love the layout of the daily duo over the daily for PPP simply because it works better for my life.
The option to have the Plum in my ring system is very tempting! Will think a lot about that for my 2021 planner! Thanks for this video, opened my eyes for different planners and systems!
Thanks for this review. I did look at Plum Paper Planner prior to getting the EC I got in March. I like the customization and I may go that route eventually. I think I am decided on going with Emily Ley Daily for the next time though.
I literally have the middle sized customized in my cart and now I think I’m going to switch! I have PPP 7x9 weekly which I love for my doctorate program, and wanted a daily got work and other stuff.
Love this comparison! Definitely tempted to try out the PPP Daily and LOVE that it has separate Pages for the Weekend. If Erin Condren ever decides to coil the Petite Daily Layout--- I think I'd be over the moon!
I use the Plum Paper teacher planner and grade book and absolutely LOVE them! I recently ordered the Plum Paper A5 daily. Can't wait! Thanks for the great video. :)
I cannot wait to see how you use this! I used a PPP vertical priorities for work last year and really liked it. Now I might go back and get one for my personal use this year, I always forget they have the A5 size. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you, Thank you so much for doing this review. It's exactly what I was looking for. I have fallen in love with the EC paper and it was my primary concern with possibly switching (TBD). While I like the grittiness, I am happy to hear that there is no ghosting with the plum paper planner. I look forward to see how you use in come July.
I am hoping so badly that EC does the daily binder inserts. I had them bound into 3 month notebooks and they have been the perfect take with me daily planner.
This was such a great comprehensive review. Thank you! I already ordered my PPP for July- Dec, but I was having second thoughts after the EC daily came out. This kind of reassured me of my decision.
I love the smoothness of the paper in PPP it reminds me of Sew Much Crafting paper from their inserts. I am a ring girl, but find that during the summer (non working days for this teacher) the PPP priorities layout works best. I am intrigued to buy one unpunched and put it in my a5 Malden. So glad to see this review!
Yay! I thought you were releasing this video on Friday so I was happy to see it today. I've been on a daily quest this year. I thought long and hard about PP (it made it to the final three) but eventually decided on Duo. I got a kick out of two of the things you loved were ultimately the deal breakers for me LOL! I need the hours printed in mine already and while I always order colorful for EC I don't like Plum Paper's colorway *at all* - the colors don't make sense for the season and I hate that they are ombre and make it hard to tell which month I'm in. The A5 is only available in colorful. It was a good reminder that's why there are so many different planners - something for everyone bc we are all so different! I hope it is PERFECT for you! Happy planning!
Omg I absolutely loveeeeee plum paper!!! Their paper is silky smooth and I use their planner for work. If I wasnt sooooooo decorative in my planning i would use it for personal.planning
Duo doesn't' currently come on a black coil unless they changed it recently :( I was really sad about that when I bought because I love the black coil!!! Thank you for this video!!! I love it and your organization that is on your website is great!!!!
This is why I enjoy your channel - huge chart maker here! So, I love discs and use IWP. BUT, I ordered the EC daily binder pages to punch and add to my discs once I wasn't convinced to use the Daily Duo (so many things in my brain I don't like). I forgot you can get Plum Paper unpunched (even though Jess from KOPS brought that up too). Thank you for this review!
I love this comparison. I’m going with the EC Daily Duo in July. I love the customization of the plum paper. I had a weekly last year but I didn’t like the smooth paper. Weird I know lol. FYI the daily duo does not have the option of the black coil. I’m still mad about that.
Killing me Laken! 😘 I just placed my daily duo order on Sunday. I actually made my own A5 planner for the first half of the year and had it coiled at Office Depot after I saw your petite at CYYL. It worked okay (it is a weekly) but didn’t quite have all I needed like a monthly view. The PPP looks to have it all. Can’t wait to see how you use it. Maybe I will go that route next year! Excellent video comparing all three planners and what you like and don’t like. I am using a notebook for work that is smooth paper and I don’t care for it but I am also using a ballpoint pen which could be part of the problem. My Tul pens might be better.
I LOVE this video. It’s so well organized and covers all the things I think about with choosing a planner. I’m a disc hp user so the customization and ability to have it unbound really makes the plum paper appealing and really shocked about the paper as haven’t heard best things about it. Awesome video
I don't need hours every day but I figured I have a lot of washi & stickers that I can change it & make it cute as needed. I work a lot on weekends so while I liked the idea of having their own pages it's really not a big deal. I especially wouldn't like how the weekends don't always show on the same spread. I'm happy with my daily duo purchase. Now I just need yo decide if I'm going to frankenplanner it with the rest of my vertical for this year & extra note pages. I'm literally split on this so I'm giving myself till June 15th to decide.
I loved this comparison. I used the Plum Planner last year and loved it!! However, I did need the hourly section so I ordered the Erin Condren duo this year. I am not sure how I feel about giving up the extra sections I had in my PP. It was a very tough decision and only time will tell.
Thanks Laken for info and comparison of these planners. Love the ability to customize. I am going over to the link. I am in live w/EC Kaleidoscope and colorful layers so this is a question in my mind.
loved this! I haven't heard of this planner before! I have EC monthly & vertical plus the petite planners but its getting to be a lot to have so many different books. I like having everything with me all the time and a place to jot down every thought I have! I will definitely be considering this planner for 2021
I ordered a daily PPP and my one complaint was the lighter color tabbed sections are harder to read the dates and months etc..on the paper. It was absolutely fine in the darker colors.
I was so in love with the Plum Paper daily and then I started incorporating my EC hourly into the mix and now I kind of feel like 2021 might have me looking at the Daily Duo. So early to have such a planner dilemma and yet I wasn't expecting EC to come out with the a coiled daily! :0 I really enjoyed this comparison.
THANK YOU for giving Plum Paper it’s due. They are such phenomenal planners. Also good to note that in the larger sizes they do offer a neutral option and it is a TRUE neutral; no pastel, almost neutrals that I know you hate, Laken. 😉 (I do think the EC neutral options are beautiful but definitely not a true neutral). There’s very little to cover up in PPP, colorful or neutral, and one of the tabbed add-ons you can get is just a notes section and you can choose lines, dot-grid, or blank. So if you’re a person who likes a lot of notes pages, that’s available to you. AND if all the customization is too overwhelming but you like the basic layouts they do have ready-to-ship options too. Personally, I love the paper and I love the overall aesthetic of PPP more than the EC, so that plus all the customization leaves me squarely in the Plum camp. I just wish more sticker shops offered Plum options. 🤷♀️
Great review. Thank you! I had heard of PPC in passing but never knew they did custom and also in A5 size! If I had to be super persnickety I'd say I wish you could customise the monthly calendar to be a Monday start! haha
Great video. Couple things I would note: I used a daily A5 Plum Paper for several months. And one thing to note is that it is NOT available in neutral for the A5 size, but it is for the 7 by 9. I quit using it for that reason. I did not care for the colors and I did not want a larger one (that is available in neutral) for my daily because I wanted to carry it with me. Also the Plum Paper covers are also interchangeable. On your order you can write in notes: please clip cover to make it interchangeable. And then you can order new covers and change them out just like EC! Thank you Laken!
Just wanted to add that I think they add the plastic cover because of the removable cover so that if you take the cover off to use somewhere else, there is still a protection layer. You can also add a note at the purchase to have the cover be removable (which they do offer separately).
Great comparison. I have been curious about the Plum Paper planners but knew my EC was working for me so I didn't want to spend the $ to see one :) So this leaves you primarily using a Makse Life Weekly and the Plum Paper Daily right?
I, personally, create my own planners and get them printed because after I add shipping to my cart, most planner companies total price ends up being out of my comfort range. Especially when I can get exactly what I want at a decent price that I am comfortable paying. The only downside or drawback is that it's time consuming creating every single page. But I happen to also love the process.
Really helpful. Currently, I’m using a Happy Planner. Although pretty, it’s not working for me. I am testing some of the EC Petite Daily layouts in my bullet journal for two weeks to see if it works for me. If it does, I think I will invest. I won’t coil it, I’ll just use it in a folio. I think I’ll only use 3 insert/books. We’ll see. This video helped me decide that the daily duo is not for me. I will check out Plum Planners, though.
BTW if you go to a UPS store, they cut the planner and recoil it for you and you get a choice of silver or black coil in different sizes. getting things coiled with them is around $5
@@PlanwithLaken Definitely call and ask. Most UPS stores do. they just dont advertise it. My store is teeeeny. lol I was going to Office Depot to get manuscripts bound and a friend told me about UPS. Saved me SO much money and hassle. I can drop things off and pick it up after I run errands.
Not directly related to this video, but does Cultivate what Matters have a reward program? Also, it's definitely a personal preference but I LOVE the paper they use in the Plum Paper planners. It's so smooth and buttery. I have a lot of thinking to do before July
Can you do at least one day of your entire planning in the plum paper planner when you first start using it so we can have ideas on how to use the layout?
I'm debating getting a Plum Paper daily for my Birthday (I'll be 30 at the end of June, so I'll go for a July-December one... though I AM holding off on deciding until I can see what changes are made to EC). As of right now, PP edges out EC for me because 1. Plum Paper gives equal space to Saturdays and Sundays. 2. There aren't any times pre-printed. The times on the EC planner don't always work for me. I don't need to time block right now. I just like the idea of dividing my days up morning/afternoon/evening so when I put things in my planner, my schedule is (more or less) in order. Right now, I'll have an 8pm Livestream before my 2:30pm work shift and it drives me crazy. Sectioning off my day should help me visualize my day enough. 3. More lined sections. I can designate sections for my Scripture Writing plan (I write out 3-4 verses a day in my journal and I like to add the reference in my planner so I don't need to go online to look it up), all-day events (Birthdays, holidays, paydays, etc), and more without taking up the designated space for my schedule and to-do list. Admittedly, I do like the layout of the Petite Daily a tad better (minus the whole Saturday/Sunday on one page thing; I'm hoping I'll get back to a point where Sundays are busy and need their own page haha). If EC put the same layout in their next Daily Duo and separated weekends, I'd go with that. (I have no use for a top 3 and I started a mini collection of EC covers that I'd like to keep using and I've heard mixed reviews on how the EC covers fit on the Plum Paper 7x9 planners)
I actually don't like the layout of the PPP. Love the layout in the petite planner but the Duo is my second choice. Thanks for this video. It is very informative.
Not sure if I missed it, does Plum Paper’s coil binding match the ec 4:1 pitch? I’m thinking of ordering from Plum Paper to add to my frankenplan plan.
I don't have a 7x9 plum paper so I can't say it matches exactly, other people in the comments have said that it does. But I know the spacing matches so I can use my EC bookmarks in my PP.
Since you are using a daily layout, are you not doing a weekly? Or using both? If you’re using both, will you start using a combined weekly and daily in January?
@PlanwithLaken: Does PPP have an option to combine both a weekly & daily in one planner? I tried to see if I can make one, but I got too overwhelmed with ALL the choices online.
I love the idea of PPP, but every time I go to pick a cover I just hate them all. They look like they were generated by a bored computer. Great review!
Can you test the Tul pen (and others) in the PPP? I got excited about it with your video but then got concerned when another video talked about how smooth the paper is and I don’t want pens to bleed, of course. Also, I find the spacing in the ECPP to be too large (as in college ruled versus wide ruled in my mind). Is it comparable in the PPP as far as spacing? Thanks for the info!
well..... now I'm looking at the coiled a5 at ppp... instead of the diy coiled ec petite.... hmmmmm i still have the ECLP at home and the ECDD at work but the a5 is my carry around size..... hmmmmm
Wow loved this video! I've been seeing so much of the EC daily and I really didn't think I needed one or that the layout would work for me. However, love that PPP layout and all those ad ons! It would basically combine all of the petite planners I'm using into one place. I'm in a calendar year EC Academic right now but I might just have to spend some time playing around the plum paper website! Also curious, will you still use your moxie life weekly??
@@PlanwithLaken update I've literally spent the past hour playing around on the Plum Paper website. I might not make it to December without ordering one of these. Can't wait to see you start using it!
With PPP, do you have the ability to create a monthly/weekly/daily layout? Or would you have to purchase a weekly and daily then frankenplan like the EC weekly/DD? I went on the PPP website but couldn't figure out if you could buy one already put together.

I customized the headers to fit my needs but didn’t add any additional pages. If there was a way to get a weekly spread before 7 daily pages I think it would be the perfect planner.
I was thinking about this last night actually - you could probably use some of the notes or to do list add ins to be a weekly overview!
Because they already do so much customization, this could be something they'd look into if you suggested it to them! I love that idea!!

You are a professional “describerer”, I made that up. Is a new profession. But omg the way you describe things is impressive. 💎
Kate - which planner did you decide on? I don't like the weekend days ending on different spreads. I'm still undecided.
I will definitely be considering this planner for 2021
That would be a great option!
Such a thorough review and comparison! I’m definitely going to head over to the Plum website. Thank you for sharing.
I ordered a daily PPP and my one complaint was the lighter color tabbed sections are harder to read the dates and months etc..on the paper. It was absolutely fine in the darker colors.
I was so excited for this video and it did not disappoint! I have so much thinking to do!
😉 (I do think the EC neutral
options are beautiful but definitely not a true neutral). 🤷♀️
Thanks for sharing!!
alright you sold me on the size and layout of the plum paper for a daily planner! so many options I can't even so good!
So many options! It’s almost overwhelming!
The checklist page in the plum paper looks the most similar to the one you have in the petite and you can add more habits.
Yes, but in the petite I had one per week!
Also forgot to mention if you get the 7x9 size PPP you can put EC covers on there if you wanted to!
Yes, good call!
Can't wait to see how you plan in this!
Great review. Thank you! I had heard of PPC in passing but never knew they did custom and also in A5 size! If I had to be super persnickety I'd say I wish you could customise the monthly calendar to be a Monday start! haha
Great video. Couple things I would note:
I used a daily A5 Plum Paper for several months.
Oh wow, this is helpful, thank you!
Can you use your EC Covers on them?
Karen Schwieger you can on the 7 by 9!!!
Just wanted to add that I think they add the plastic cover because of the removable cover so that if you take the cover off to use somewhere else, there is still a protection layer. You can also add a note at the purchase to have the cover be removable (which they do offer separately).
Good to know!!
Well.... I have a lot to think about by July.... 😬😣
Same 😂
This was such a well done and thorough review, great job.
Rebecca, I'm curious to find out where you purchase the ones to create your own. Are you using a purchased template or designing yours from scratch?
Really helpful. Currently, I’m using a Happy Planner. Although pretty, it’s not working for me. I am testing some of the EC Petite Daily layouts in my bullet journal for two weeks to see if it works for me. If it does, I think I will invest. I won’t coil it, I’ll just use it in a folio. I think I’ll only use 3 insert/books. We’ll see. This video helped me decide that the daily duo is not for me. I will check out Plum Planners, though.
I need the hourly layout. It’s the only thing stopping me from ordering the plum paper daily
BTW if you go to a UPS store, they cut the planner and recoil it for you and you get a choice of silver or black coil in different sizes. getting things coiled with them is around $5
I’m not sure if our UPS does that, they’re so so small!
@@budgetingagain Thanks Hunter. This is great to know!
I love the PPP planner layout but I HATE the paper so much I actually can't get myself to want to use it. So I stick with my EC for the paper
Not directly related to this video, but does Cultivate what Matters have a reward program?
Also, it's definitely a personal preference but I LOVE the paper they use in the Plum Paper planners. It's so smooth and buttery. I have a lot of thinking to do before July
They do not.
Photo copy a few pages to try before you start!
I’ve already done that actually :)
Will you do a full flip through of your EC petite planner you customized?
I showed the inside in the vlog where I got it done. I don’t plan to do another full through, sorry!
Can you do at least one day of your entire planning in the plum paper planner when you first start using it so we can have ideas on how to use the layout?
Definitely!
I'm debating getting a Plum Paper daily for my Birthday (I'll be 30 at the end of June, so I'll go for a July-December one... though I AM holding off on deciding until I can see what changes are made to EC). As of right now, PP edges out EC for me because
My EC ends Dec 2020 and then it's Hello Plum Paper Planner🤗
If you love the customization of PLum Paper, I think you'd really like the Golden Coil planners too.
I actually don't like the layout of the PPP. Love the layout in the petite planner but the Duo is my second choice. Thanks for this video. It is very informative.
Hi laken can you please make a video talking about the Erin condrin reward program please
Hi, I’m not an expert, so I probably won’t make a full video about it, sorry!
I wish the daily duo came in an A5 size. I like the layout better than the petite planner, but it’s WAAAYYY to big for my needs. Maybe some day🤞🏻
Since you are using a daily layout, are you not doing a weekly? Or using both? If you’re using both, will you start using a combined weekly and daily in January?
I will be using both. I have no idea what I'm going to be doing in January lol
The cover options weren't my favorites either!
You can pop on an EC cover.
You can pop on an EC cover.
Can you change the covers on the plum paper planners?
Based on some comments below, apparently you can but you have to request them to make the cover removable.
PlanwithLaken I’ll have to ask how we request it when I place my order. Thank you!!
I did test the TUL pen (you can see it on the pen test page when I flip through). The lines are a little smaller in the PP.
PlanwithLaken Thanks for the reply and the awesome comparison video. It helped me make up my mind for 20-21!
well..... now I'm looking at the coiled a5 at ppp... instead of the diy coiled ec petite.... hmmmmm i still have the ECLP at home and the ECDD at work but the a5 is my carry around size.....
Yes, I will still use my weekly!
@@PlanwithLaken update I've literally spent the past hour playing around on the Plum Paper website. I might not make it to December without ordering one of these. Can't wait to see you start using it!
Great video! Are you still going to use the Makse Life Planner too? Just curious. Thanks!
Yep, I still need a weekly overview!
With PPP, do you have the ability to create a monthly/weekly/daily layout? Or would you have to purchase a weekly and daily then frankenplan like the EC weekly/DD? I went on the PPP website but couldn't figure out if you could buy one already put together.
I don’t see that as an option either!
What did you use to cut the EC notebook coil to fit the petite planner?
I used a wire cutter from my toolbox
PlanwithLaken thanks!! I am not tool savvy 😂
